Midnight Bar.
Located in a hidden area of Metropolis, it's always been a favorite spot for Hybrid Angels and Hybrid Demons.
Absolutely neutral, not favoring Heaven or Hell, that's the foundation of the Midnight Bar.
And the owner of this bar, Midnight Daddy, is also a powerful African Witch Doctor exorcist.
However, this person seemed to be tired of endless fighting, having already retired and using magic to build a bar in a hidden alley on the west side of Metropolis to earn some money and pass the rest of his life.
Inside the bar, with its flashing lights.
Rhythmic music and lights intertwined, coloring the glasses of alcohol.
A variety of attractive men and women were flirting and chatting with each other, occasionally pairing off and heading to the corners.
Chaos and decadence were the main themes of this bar.
A Voodoo Zombie with a stiff expression opened the bar door.
Gino and Zatanna walked into the bar side by side.
The noisy music made the girl frown slightly.
Gino, on the other hand, was looking around with great interest.
Everywhere he looked, he saw pairs of eyes glowing red or gold.
"Those are Hybrid Angels and Hybrid Demons. The ones with red eyes are Hybrid Demons, and the ones with golden eyes are Angels. These guys are commonly known as The Unclean. Neither Angels nor Demons like them."
As the two of them observed the group of Hybrids, many of the Hybrids in the Midnight Bar were also observing Gino and the other person.
Hybrids have a unique bloodline sense, but they didn't sense anything from these two.
In other words, were these two pure humans?
This piqued the interest of many of the Hybrids.
"Hello there, handsome~"
A Red-Eyes Golden-Haired Woman swayed her body, wearing a black dress, and walked towards Gino.
Zatanna's face darkened. She stepped forward, blocking Gino, and warily eyed the Hybrid Demon: "Sorry, we're not here for fun."
Having been rebuffed by the girl, the Hybrid wasn't annoyed. She smiled seductively, pulled a warm card from her chest, and stuffed it into Gino's hand, winking at the boy: "Contact me anytime if you want to."
"Heh."
Gino watched the woman leave, her full, curvaceous figure quite eye-catching.
He felt as if a cold gaze were watching his cheek.
He turned his head.
Zatanna stared at the boy with a blank expression: "As a professional, I need to remind you that Hybrid Demons will greedily drain people's essence."
"What Hybrid Succubus." Gino chuckled, teasing, and tossed the card in his hand to the girl: "Let's get down to business."
The two walked to the counter.
The bartender of this bar was a tall, burly black man, wearing strange bone rings on his hands.
Seeing the two approaching, the bartender spoke, "Drinks are five dollars, and there's a 30% commission fee for collecting the bounty."
Gino looked up at the chalkboard hanging above the bar.
It was filled with various strange and bizarre bounty requests.
"Large sum offered for a live Hybrid Angel, reward 3000 USD."
"Seeking demonic bone ash material, reward 5000 USD."
Gino glanced over them. It seemed the bar owner was quite the businessman.
"Put up a bounty for me."
Gino tapped the table. "Reward of ten thousand USD for finding the whereabouts of a Medium."
The bartender nodded without asking any questions about his identity, and took out a card reader. "Cash or card?"
Times are changing, even the magical world is keeping up.
"Swipe my card, use mine." Gino tossed out the bank card from his pocket.
With a "ding" from the card reader, the bounty would be displayed on the blackboard above the bar for all to see. Constantine pushed the door open and entered the bar.
"Yo yo yo~ Look who it is, isn't it Constantine?"
The moment they saw the man enter, many Hybrid Demons started jeering.
"I heard you have lung cancer from smoking, you won't last long, right?"
Before the words even finished, mocking laughter erupted from the crowd, filling the entire bar with a lively atmosphere.
"Go to hell, you scum!"
"You don't deserve to live!"
Constantine lowered his head in silence, trudging towards the inner room.
Despised by everyone, that was the best way to describe him.
He pushed open the door, and a luxurious office came into view.
A skull, exuding a strange golden glow, was displayed on an oak table made of expensive wood.
A burly black man in a mink coat was leaning back in his chair, puffing on a pipe.
Without even looking up at Constantine, who had entered the room, the man flicked his pipe and his thick voice echoed in the office: "Look who it is?"
"Our counterfeit seller, Constantine."
Just a few months ago, Constantine had swindled Midnight Daddy into buying a batch of magical counterfeit goods.
The price for that was that three of Midnight Daddy's customers who had purchased those goods were blown up. This caused a lot of trouble, with many people coming to the bar to cause a scene.
Furious, Midnight Daddy even hired a group of thugs to give Constantine a severe beating.
The reason he didn't kill Constantine was because Midnight Daddy wanted to watch the man suffer a miserable death.
"I heard you've got lung cancer."
The burly black man grinned, showing a row of white teeth. "Lucifer recently put out the word that when you die, he'll personally come to the place of your death to collect your soul."
"I heard," Midnight Daddy leaned forward, sneering as he stared into those black eyes. "He's built you a demon amusement park in Hell, with a hundred Lust Demons waiting to savor your tender flesh."
"Wow, I'm so honored," Constantine said with a carefree laugh, but the weight in his eyes was undeniable.
"I want to ask you, is there any way for me to survive?"
Having been rejected by the angels, Constantine could only pin his hopes on extending his lifespan.
"Survive? Of course, there is."
The African Witch Doctor grinned, his tone chilling. "See the Voodoo Zombies standing at the entrance of my bar? Turn your body into one of them. Not only will you survive, but you could live for five hundred years, no problem."
Constantine heard the mockery in Midnight Daddy's words; the man didn't want to help him.
Voodoo Zombies were human puppets created by African magicians using human bodies. Although they had their own thoughts, they were completely controlled by their masters.
Living like that was no better than dying.
"Fuck you!"
He flipped the bird and then pulled out a cigarette, putting it in his mouth before turning and leaving without a backward glance.
Since he couldn't live, he might as well get a fortune and enjoy himself in his final moments.
At the bar, Constantine ordered a drink and, after instructing the bartender not to spit in his glass, his gaze swept over the blackboard above.
"Seeking a Medium, reward: ten thousand dollars."
Looking at the message, Constantine's eyes lit up.
He remembered that the policewoman who had come to him earlier seemed to be a Medium.
"Bartender."
Constantine pointed at the blackboard, a smile playing on his lips. "Take this mission down, I'll take it."
Ten thousand dollars would keep him going for a while.
