Humiliation, anger, pain.
A complex mix of emotions crashed against Gabriel's heart like waves against a reef.
Humiliation, the ultimate disgrace.
For thousands of years, Gabriel had been a deity, residing above the heavens, looking down upon the mortal world.
She was God's most beloved Angel, the standard-bearer for all Angels.
But now...
The once-exalted Archangel was being held down like a dead dog, her face slammed into the dirt.
For a creation of God, the sturdy concrete wall couldn't harm it in the slightest.
But it was like getting spat on during an argument; the damage was minimal, but the insult was immense.
"Human, die!"
As a creation of God, Gabriel also possessed profound combat experience. She drew the Seraphim Sword and thrust it towards the youth's chest.
She wanted to pierce his chest; the indestructible Seraphim Sword would burn his heart.
However, the expected divine punishment didn't materialize.
The sharp sword, which Gabriel was so proud of, seemed to have struck a cold stone, the force momentarily halted.
Clang!
Sparks flew as the divine weapon struck the skin, the cold reality a slap that left Gabriel reeling.
Her Seraphim Sword couldn't even wound the opponent?!
For the first time, a feeling called fear rose in Gabriel's heart.
"Crack!"
Her wrist was grabbed, and then gently twisted.
"Crack!"
The crisp sound of bones breaking echoed through the room, and a look of pain appeared on Gabriel's beautiful face.
She only felt her hands empty, her Seraphim Sword, taken by that mortal?!
"This sword is pretty good. It's mine now."
Gino pressed Gabriel into the wall with one hand, while toying with the Seraphim Sword in the other.
"Bastard!"
Gabriel spat out the curse through clenched teeth.
She suddenly spread her wings, the pair of wings slamming against the steel body, producing a thunderous sound.
Thousands of feathers exploded outward, each one flashing with dazzling light.
It was like a peacock displaying its plumage, the sharp feathers instantly transforming into deadly arrows.
The resulting air currents caused her robes to flutter violently.
The marble beneath their feet caved in and shattered.
Gino released Gabriel, leaping back to create distance. He watched the Angel feathers pierce towards him, his own eyes igniting with a crimson glow.
He wasn't the only one with a ranged attack.
In an instant, a torrent of Heat Vision energy roared forth, cleaving the entire room. Concrete crumbled, and the feathers dissolved.
Even the air seemed to ignite, crackling with a "zzzz" sound.
Everything before them was sliced apart as if by God.
The beam ignited furniture and feathers, and scorching flames filled the room.
"Impossible!"
Gabriel's eyes widened, unable to accept that her attack had been so easily nullified.
"There's a lot you can't imagine, don't be so surprised!"
Gino mocked, a cold smile on his face. "Because, I am the miracle!"
Before the words had even faded, a figure suddenly stood before Gabriel. Gino raised his right leg and slammed it down towards her.
A powerful whip kick thundered towards the woman, but Gabriel's long years of combat experience allowed her to raise her arms and block.
Boom!
The impact of arm and leg created a deafening sound, waves of sound exploding through the air and shaking the concrete debris on the ground.
Then,
"Bang!"
Gabriel only felt a pain in her arm, as if she had been knocked back by a cannonball.
She crashed through a wall and her body uncontrollably flew towards the sky. "Whoosh!"
Gino also appeared above Gabriel like a bolt of lightning, and raised his fist to smash down on the woman.
Thousands of fierce and overbearing fist shadows fell like a storm.
The speed was so fast that Gabriel couldn't even resist, and was continuously struck by those violent fists all over her body.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
A series of muffled thunder sounds echoed above the night sky of Metropolis.
Chest, abdomen, arms, cheeks!
Punch after punch, and with the swings and impacts of the fists, Gabriel's perfect, God-made face quickly swelled visibly.
Her body crashed through a high-rise building and fell onto the concrete road, then carved a ditch dozens of meters long in the road like a bowling ball going down a lane.
The huge dust cloud kicked up obscured the view.
Gino hovered in the sky, expressionless, looking down at the road below.
At the end of the concrete road, a battered figure staggered to their feet.
Golden blood seeped from the snow-white skin, making her look even more tragic.
Gabriel's right wing was broken and hanging limply, she staggered to her feet, her broken arm dangling, her golden eyes filled with anger and resentment.
"Mortal!"
Gabriel felt her voice trembling, her body also shaking with rage.
"How dare you!?"
She truly hadn't expected this, she was truly infuriated by this human.
But what was even harder for Gabriel to accept was that she felt a subtle sense of fear towards this human, deep down.
A god, fearing a human?
"Don't go crazy, Angel."
Gino rudely interrupted the ranting Gabriel.
"You know what? What I hate the most is the arrogant look you Angels always have."
"But look at yourself!"
The cold night wind blew, and Gabriel felt a pain in her throat.
She found herself leaving the ground, the steel arm gripping her neck tightly. Then, a scorching red light shone from the boy's eyes.
"Since you think humans are so weak and pathetic, then let you become one."
"Buzz!"
The red light flashed, and Gabriel felt a sharp pain in her shoulders.
The wings, symbolizing an angel's sacred purity, crashed down into the dust.
Large patches of golden light gushed out from the wounds, and Gabriel let out a desperate cry: "No!"
For an Angel, severing one's wings signifies a voluntary renunciation of their angelic status.
Divine power dissipated throughout her body. Gabriel smelled a burnt odor in the air. She realized that her body now possessed something it never had before.
"What have you done to me!? My wings!"
Gabriel let out a crazed roar.
"Just letting you experience the joys of being human," Gino sneered, not even glancing at Gabriel as he tossed her onto the ground like a bag of trash.
"Thud!"
The heavy impact sent a wave of pain through Gabriel's internal organs.
But these pains were insignificant compared to the exile she had suffered.
He had lost his identity as an Angel, and instead became a despicable human.
"Gabriel? An Angel?"
Gino slowly walked towards the woman lying on the ground with lifeless eyes.
"Slap!"
Black leather shoes stepped on Gabriel's face, and the young man's voice echoed, "What a weak Angel."
"Kill me!"
Gabriel closed her eyes, devoid of any will to live.
"No."
Gino took off his shoes and turned to leave, not forgetting to "kill the heart": "I think leaving you to suffer in the mortal world is the best choice."
