In the hallway, Clark tensed up, puffed out his chest, and wore a mischievous grin, immediately attracting the attention of several girls.
"Wow, Lana's looking at you."
Kino spoke up at the right moment, his gaze fixed on Lana around the corner. "There's another girl with her, seems like a transfer student."
Clark followed Kino's gaze. His eyes swept over Lana, and he couldn't help but recall how she'd been nagging him about something these past few days and giving him the cold shoulder.
His gaze then drifted over Jessie, who stood beside Lana.
The long, golden hair and her fashionable, elegant attire... and most importantly, compared to Lana's ahem, the other girl possessed a considerable... endowment.
Clark grinned foolishly, showing a row of white teeth. "Oh, Kino, to hell with Lana. I've got a better option."
Clark strode towards Lana and Jessie. Kino, hands in his pockets, followed leisurely behind Clark.
He was curious; what would that red stone turn Clark into?
Clark walked in front of the two girls, blocking their path.
"Hey, hello. Are you new here? I'm Clark Kent."
Clark pressed a hand against the lockers on one side of the corridor, his demeanor that of a domineering CEO, staring directly at Jessie, completely ignoring Lana's strange expression.
"Interesting. I'm Jessie."
The avant-garde girl was into this bad-boy style. She extended her hand, and they shook, then separated.
Clark stood with his hands on his hips, looking at the girl. His gaze swept over her short top and hot pants. "I have to say, your outfit is really cool, both trendy and avant-garde."
As soon as he said this, Lana, who knew Clark well, immediately looked surprised.
That kind of compliment, directed at a girl, actually came out of Clark's mouth. Lana even doubted her ears.
But soon, a touch of jealousy welled up in Lana's chest. That damn Clark had never praised her like that.
Lana glared at Clark, furious.
Clark gave a "devilish" smile, sizing Lana up with a look of disdain: "What's wrong, is something bothering your eyes?"
"Hmph!"
Lana was utterly infuriated by Clark's response. Her eyes sliced towards Clark as she said, "I remembered that Teacher Morty asked me to do something, I'll be leaving now."
Lana left in hurried steps, clearly quite upset by Clark's reaction.
Kino stood with his arms crossed, silently watching everything. His gaze swept over the red ring on Clark's hand, and he couldn't help but want to laugh.
It could now be basically confirmed that Red Kryptonite would amplify the worst, darkest sides of Clark's personality.
So, how would Clark mend things with Lana after the Red Kryptonite wore off?
Clark didn't know what Kino was thinking. He and Jessie were looking at each other, and a strange feeling of intimacy was spreading in his heart.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but didn't Lana Lang tell you about the dress code at Town High School?"
Principal Gibbons suddenly appeared from around the corner, looking grim.
Just like in everyone's high school life, when you do something wrong or break the rules, the school principal always appears behind you without you knowing.
The sudden appearance of the principal broke the intimate atmosphere.
He looked displeased at Jessie, who was wearing a punk-style crop top, with her navel exposed to the air. It was really indecent, indecent!
"I must seriously criticize you, Miss Jessie."
Principal Gibbons intended to severely criticize the girls, his gaze sweeping over the group.
Clark, the farmer's kid, had no power or influence and didn't need to be considered.
"Ahem."
A slight cough came from the corner, and Principal Gibbons took a small step forward.
He saw a head of golden hair and beautiful features.
"Mr. Luthor!?"
The gloom on Principal Gibbons' face seemed to be blown away by a breeze. He immediately changed to a fawning smile, approaching with a flattering expression. "I'm very sorry, I didn't notice you were here."
"Is Miss Jessie a friend of yours?"
Kino shrugged, "Sort of."
Now, his friend Clark was like a lab rat. He needed to observe Clark's reactions and changes, and he couldn't let Gibbons ruin things.
"I won't interrupt your conversation then."
Principal Gibbons was undoubtedly perceptive. After saying this, he turned and left without looking back.
His comical appearance successfully amused the new transfer student.
The girl gave Kino a meaningful look: "So, friends?"
Clark poked Kino in the waist, signaling that his friend was really something.
Glancing at Principal Gibbons, who was walking away, Clark retracted his gaze and looked back at Jessie, grinning: "The annoying one is finally gone. So, want to go on a date?"
"A date?"
Jessie raised an eyebrow. "You're bold, I like that."
The girl pulled a pen from her pocket. "Hold out your hand."
Clark held out his palm, and the girl gently took it, writing her contact information there with the pen.
She made a phone gesture, holding her hand to her ear. "Make sure you call me and we can set up a time."
"Of course."
Clark looked down at the phone number on his palm, a goofy grin on his face.
Kent Farm.
Jonathan sat on the sofa, looking pale, while a wooden barrel was placed in the living room downstairs.
The aroma of alcohol wafted from the opened bottle, which clearly indicated it was a product for those under twenty-one.
"I really can't believe it."
Jonathan complained to his wife, "Clark is secretly drinking!"
"Is it curiosity or stress?" Jonathan was very distressed; he didn't understand how Clark, who had always been well-behaved and sensible since childhood, had become like this.
"Maybe it's just the rebellious phase of adolescence, Jonathan."
Martha was tidying up the dishes in the kitchen, speaking without turning around.
In Clark's family, Jonathan played the role of the stern father, while Martha was the loving mother.
"Sigh."
Jonathan sighed.
"Whoosh!"
The door seemed to be blown open by a gust of wind. Jonathan only felt a blur, and the next second, Clark, with his red backpack, was standing in front of Jonathan.
"Good afternoon, both of you."
Clark had a smile on his face, but when he saw the wine barrel on the ground, a hint of anger flashed across the boy's face: "Did you search my room?"
He stared at Jonathan, displeased: "Father, that's my territory. You can't just barge in without my permission!"
"So that's why you're drinking?!"
Jonathan didn't back down, standing up and looking up at Clark, who was a head taller than him. "Son, you're not at an age to be trying these prohibited things."
"Yeah, yeah, you always tell me what to do. Be upright, don't expect anything in return, be a good person, be a saint."
Clark stuck his tongue out, looking impatient. He shouted at Jonathan, "But have you ever thought about whether I want to be that kind of person!"
"I don't want to be like you, a farmer who's never amounted to anything!"
Before his words could even finish, Clark's body flickered. He simply took a step, and then instantly vanished. The wine barrel on the ground disappeared with him.
