Chapter 130 - Clark Has a Plan

Running through the wilderness, the wind howled in his ears.

The wheat field swayed in the breeze as a figure appeared seemingly out of nowhere, standing before a large tree. Without a word, he raised his fist and threw a powerful punch.

Boom!

A sturdy old tree, decades old, became the target of Clark's rage.

The rough bark and the heartwood were both shattered, leaving a fist-sized hole.

"Lectures, lectures!" Clark kept throwing punches, his speed so fast that they blurred, creating a whistling sound.

"More lectures, what am I supposed to do?"

"To make them happy!"

Bang bang bang!

Punch after punch hammered the poor old tree until it couldn't take it anymore, and a mournful "creak" escaped from its broken branches.

Boom!

The setting sun painted the earth gold.

The tree crashed to the ground with a loud thud, scattering birds from the forest.

Clark gasped for breath, having vented the anger in his heart. He felt great now.

Picking up the barrel from the pile of weeds, Clark took a long swig.

He savored the spicy alcohol exploding on his taste buds and flowing down his esophagus into his stomach.

Gino's liquor was clearly something special. Clark was soon tipsy.

"Thud~"

Clark collapsed onto the grass.

Unlike others, when Clark got drunk, his mind tended to wander.

He thought of Lana, then of Teacher Akins' perfect, alluring figure. Then, he shamefully thought of Jesse's smooth, bare stomach from this morning.

A wave of heat rose from his abdomen, like a burning flame.

His eyes felt slightly hot, with a hint of stinging.

Clark closed his eyes and rubbed them.

He felt a bit uncomfortable.

He lowered his hands and opened his eyes. The next instant, a wave of scorching heat surged from his eyes, immediately condensing into a blood-red beam due to the extreme temperature.

Whoosh!

The blinding heat vision fiercely blasted onto another old tree. In an instant, the terrifying temperature ignited the tree, and flames spread rapidly.

Clark stumbled and sat down, unable to believe his eyes:

"What, what's going on?"

Could his eyes shoot out some kind of energy? Clark staggered to his feet and walked towards the charred tree.

Looking at the scorch marks on the tree, Clark could confirm that, after gaining the body of steel, he had gained another superpower.

"Whew~"

The howling autumn wind picked up a newspaper, causing it to fall from the clouds.

Clark glanced at the newspaper. The headline featured a photo of a man: "Gotham City's Bruce Wayne Plans to Spend a Fortune on Improving Gotham's People's Livelihoods."

"Gotham? What's the point of saving the trash of that city of sin?"

Clark scoffed, about to leave, but then he paused.

Thinking of his newly awakened superpowers and his impoverished family, a bold idea began to take root in his mind.

"Bruce Wayne." Clark picked up the newspaper from the ground, looking at the handsome man with the "butt" chin: "Giving this money to those scumbags is meaningless."

"Instead of..."

Just as Clark was refining his plan…

Luthor Manor was ablaze with light.

Gino entered the castle.

In the hall, the young maids all hung their heads, not daring to make a sound.

Gino glanced up at the hall. The original pool table and the fencing swords on the wall were gone, replaced by a black-toned desk and several business elites in suits, all busily working.

The entire living room had been completely transformed, a scene that reminded Gino of an office in Metropolis.

Lionel was sitting at the desk Lex had previously used, wearing sunglasses and expressionlessly directing the work of the elites under him.

The old butler still stood beside Lionel with his proper posture, holding a cup of coffee.

Gino withdrew his gaze, considering that he should go live somewhere else for a while.

Lionel was that kind of person, liking to do things his own way, just like an ancient dictator.

And as he got older, this dictatorial tendency became even stronger, even to the point of being unbearable.

Gino started to head back to his own room, out of sight, out of mind.

"Vroom~"

The sound of a sports car roaring outside, Gino stopped and his gaze fell on the entrance of the manor. The walls in his eyes gradually became transparent and illusory. The youth saw Lex hurrying towards him, his face looking grim.

A fight was inevitable.

Lex leaped up the steps and rushed into the hall like a whirlwind, shouting, "Damn it, who made this place like this?"

Lex's gaze swept across the hall before locking onto the old man sitting in his usual spot, the person he loathed the most: Lionel.

"Oh, Lex, you're back early today. Finished with the company work?"

Lionel tilted his head, angling his ear toward the direction of the voice.

Lex's expression darkened. "I'm asking you why you changed my living room without my permission."

Lionel shrugged. "What should I say? I'm sorry?"

"But could you take pity on this old blind man?"

"And," Lionel paused, "your taste is simply awful."

Watching Lex's face turn red with anger, Gino couldn't help but chuckle inwardly, but he had no intention of getting involved in the argument and walked back to his room.

Just as he lay down on the wide bed, a notification popped up on his phone.

The message was from Talia. She informed him that Ra's al Ghul had recovered and would be heading to Gotham City soon to seek revenge on the mysterious person.

After Ra's al Ghul was defeated by Gino last time, he had fled back to Devil's Island in a sorry state.

He had also tried to force Talia to reveal the mysterious person's identity, but the woman insisted she didn't know, leaving Ra's al Ghul helpless.

Furthermore, Ra's al Ghul's pride drove him to seek revenge on Gotham City once more.

"Interesting."

Gino scrolled through his phone. The second message was from Lana, asking Gino about Clark's condition.

The message was marked as read. After a moment of thought, Gino replied with a simple "Don't know."

"What a busy day."

Gino tossed aside his phone and was just about to lie down when a knock came at his door.

"Young Master Gino, your high school classmate is waiting for you outside the manor."

"Someone's looking for me?"

Gino glanced outside. His enhanced vision allowed him to clearly see the person.

Clark, wearing a black jacket, stood outside the manor with his hands in his pockets.

"What does he want?"

Clark stood outside the impressive manor, already having refined his plan in his mind and preparing to put it into action.

However, a practical problem faced Clark.

If he wanted to go to Gotham City, he needed a plane ticket, but he didn't have that kind of money. His annoying, deadbeat dad wouldn't provide the funds either.

Who could he turn to for help then? Naturally, only his friend, Gino.

"Clark."

Gino walked out of the manor, looking at the big boy wearing cheap sunglasses he'd somehow found: "What's up?"

"It's like this," Clark explained to Gino, stating his intention: "I need you to lend me some money."
