Outside the dimly lit prison cell.
Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room.
This office belonged to Schmidt.
On the desk and cabinets were numerous family photos, though the red markings on them clearly indicated that these family members were already dead.
"Schmidt is undoubtedly a tyrant."
Clark held a can of luncheon meat in his hand, using a spoon to scoop out the salty meat to fill his stomach, he mumbled, "What do we do next?"
Although theoretically Clark didn't need to eat luncheon meat to maintain his energy, a Kryptonian's near-godlike physique could survive for a long time without food or water, just by basking in the sun.
But habits formed over many years aren't so easily broken.
After finishing the last piece of luncheon meat, Clark wiped the grease from his hands, looking somewhat embarrassed at Gino.
Through their conversation, he'd learned why they were here.
He bore a great deal of the responsibility for being controlled.
Now that they had a leader, Clark thought he only needed to do one thing: Listen to whatever Gino said, and then do it.
Not far away, Gino sat in an office chair, flipping through the files on the desk. They detailed Schmidt's attempts to unlock human potential through various brutal tortures.
Slap! Gino closed the file and tossed it onto the desk. The youth slowly stood up and rubbed his neck, "The next step is simple: Find a way for us to go home."
"What way?"
"A type of energy capable of supporting our multiverse travel."
Gino picked up another file, a smile playing on his lips. "And, I also know where to find it."
"Let's go to the radio room."
Gino pushed open the door. "Schmidt's old friend is in close contact with him."
"We'll impersonate Schmidt and greet him."
Somewhere in a Western European underground base.
The clean and tidy floor proved that this base was well-disciplined.
Countless soldiers wore black breathing masks, their dark military uniforms displaying a skull emblem on their chests.
These guys were clutching heavy, strangely shaped weapons. The gun barrels emitted a faint blue energy glow, looking incredibly destructive.
They held their heads high, standing in neat rows, gazing up at the figure on the platform.
"The Mustache is obsolete, now."
The man paused, then raised his right hand in front of him: "It's HYDRA's time!"
"Hail HYDRA!" the soldiers roared in unison.
Watching the reaction from below, the Red Skull, wearing a human skin mask, curled his lips slightly. He was pleased with the morale of this army; it was a powerful force ready for battle.
The Mustache suffered setbacks in the Extreme Frozen Ice territory, and there was an explosion on the islands of Japan.
The Allies' all-out counteroffensive had the Mustache completely overwhelmed.
Everything seemed to be telling Red Skull: The Mustache is finished.
But, The Mustache's demise didn't mean HYDRA would vanish. Taking root and growing wildly in Germany, his HYDRA had fully matured, ready to devour the world.
Red Skull turned his head towards the cabin behind him, where a series of energy bombs were arranged. Each one was crafted using the Tesseract he had found in a certain Eastern European church, and each one's power was no less than that which had destroyed Japan.
Red Skull slowly leaned down, his hands gripping the iron bar.
He felt he could no longer wait to rule the world, to make it submit to HYDRA's rule.
"Leader!"
A bald man hurried towards Red Skull, interrupting the man's fantasy.
"Dr. Zola." Red Skull frowned slightly, turning to look at the bald doctor: "You better have something important to tell me."
Dr. Zola pushed up his glasses, speaking rapidly, "Yes, yes, that's right. Mr. Schmidt, who is in charge of the research on metahumans, sends his regards via telegram and wishes to visit you."
"Schmidt?" Red Skull's eyes flashed with a hint of disgust. Because of overlapping fields of study, he had indeed been in contact with the man for a while, but that didn't mean Red Skull liked him. That damn guy shared his surname, which annoyed him greatly.
After all, what gave him the right to be a Schmidt?
Red Skull resolved that once he had swallowed the entire world, the surname Schmidt would become unique.
Red Skull tapped his fingers lightly on the iron bars, and after a moment of thought, said, "Don't bother with him."
A worthless waste of space; he was no longer worthy of contact with him, the Red Skull.
"Boom!"
Before Red Skull could react, the wooden frame supported by steel above his head shattered, and glass mixed with twisted steel crashed to the ground, making a loud noise.
A figure rolled down quite awkwardly.
"My back!"
Clark clutched his lower back, a pained expression on his face.
"Is that a person?"
"Fire!"
Without giving Clark a chance to react, the well-trained HYDRA soldiers immediately raised their rifles, modified with Tesseract energy, as soon as they saw him.
"Buzz–"
The azure barrels charged, and the next moment, countless crimson energy beams roared down, resembling a torrential downpour on Clark's position.
The terrifying heat melted steel and concrete.
The crisscrossing energy beams engulfed Clark.
Standing on the high platform, Red Skull narrowed his eyes, warily observing the battlefield below.
As the smoke cleared, a shirtless Clark appeared before everyone.
"Impossible!"
No one could believe what they were seeing. Energy beams capable of easily destroying a heavy metal tank couldn't kill a human?
"Sorry, maybe you guys could just put down your weapons and surrender?" Clark scratched his head. "The guy coming soon won't be so easy to talk to."
However, his words were clearly misinterpreted by the HYDRA soldiers, who took them as an insult.
"Kill him!"
The soldiers howled and raised their weapons at Clark again.
But, far faster than their trigger fingers was a beam of deep blue light.
"Buzz~" The extreme freezing beam swept across each person's body. Wherever it passed, it was like a bucket of cold water being poured on them in fifty degrees below zero weather; everything froze.
The soldiers, with their contorted faces and flailing limbs, were frozen within ice-blue coffins.
Time seemed to freeze at this moment. The place that the Red Skull had used to mobilize his troops now resembled a glacier. The extreme cold made Dr. Zola, standing behind the Red Skull, shiver.
The Red Skull and Dr. Zola looked up into the sky.
A figure slowly floated in the air, his voice cold: "Why bother talking to them, Clark?"
Gino looked calmly at everything below. After confirming that everyone was frozen to death by the Extreme Frozen Ice, his oppressive gaze slowly shifted, landing on the Red Skull, who was standing on the high platform and looking up at Gino.
"Gulp."
Facing the indifferent gaze of the being, seemingly a god looking down from above, Red Skull shamefully realized that a sense of dread, a feeling of terror, had welled up within him.
It was as if a pet rabbit at home had met a fierce hawk; the pressure from a superior being stiffened Red Skull's limbs.
He wanted to force his mouth open to say something, but the air around him seemed to come alive, squeezing Red Skull's limbs.
"Crack, crack~"
The bones in his limbs emitted a crisp cracking sound, collapsing and disintegrating under the crushing force of a superior being.
Forcing his mouth open, blood flowed from the corners of his mouth. Red Skull spoke with difficulty, "Don't, don't kill me..."
