Chapter 7 - 303

**Chapter 303: Who Killed Them?**

At the end of the street, two people knelt before Yuan Xiye. Chu Han, covered in wounds with his clothes in tatters, knelt perfectly straight. Shang Jiudi, dressed in her clean and proper military uniform, also knelt ramrod straight. At this moment, she had cast aside all her glory and status, completely ignoring the filthy ground and her own noble identity. She willingly knelt behind Chu Han, accompanying him in silence.

Everyone instantly felt a mix of deep admiration and intense jealousy toward Chu Han. To make Shang Jiudi willingly lower herself like this was something only an extraordinary man could achieve.

Just as the crowd was still stunned speechless by the scene, a sudden series of light but abrupt footsteps rang out. A pair of high heels stepped out from a narrow alleyway. The white dress showed no trace of damage from the earlier torrential rain. Long black hair cascaded down to her waist. Her young, breathtakingly beautiful face was expressionless, and her icy pupils carried a cold, alluring sense of abstinence that made it impossible to look away.

The girl's sudden appearance left the already shocked group stunned once again. It took them quite a while to recover.

**Why was Bai Yun'er here?!**

Ding Siyao and An Ze were both completely dumbfounded. Ever since Bai Yun'er had gone to the Shangjing base, she had disappeared the very next day. The military's attitude toward her was extremely ambiguous—she basically belonged to the "no one can control her" category. Although she was a reserve member of the Wolf Fang Team, even members of the Dragon Fang Team treated her with great respect. Bai Yun'er's identity was a complete mystery.

Yet this extraordinary girl, a super-powerful lone wolf and the publicly acknowledged ice beauty of all China, had suddenly appeared in An Luo City?

Li Yi and Wei An were also stunned as they stared at the suddenly appearing girl. She was young, cold in demeanor, yet so beautiful it was hard to tear one's eyes away. They also noticed the strange looks the soldiers were giving her. Who exactly was this girl?

**Clack!**

The ten-centimeter high heels stepped forward. On the uneven, crater-filled ground, her steps were completely steady—it was eerily unbelievable!

The moment Bai Yun'er stepped out of the alley, her pupils shrank sharply. For someone who usually showed no emotion, her heart actually skipped a beat. A trace of sadness flashed across her face before she quickly regained her usual indifferent expression.

She walked forward a few steps and gazed at the several-kilometer-long street illuminated by the helicopter lights. At the far end stood a kind-looking middle-aged woman. Bai Yun'er was extremely sharp—she immediately understood that it was Chu Han's mother. Just two meters further ahead was Chu Han, kneeling motionless, covered in blood and injuries.

A hundred meters behind him stretched an endless sea of corpses all the way to the other end of the street. Black blood covered everything, turning the area into a complete mess. Thousands upon thousands of bodies, not a single survivor. Chu Han knelt at the very front of this corpse-strewn street, right before his mother.

No ostentation. No explanation. No words.

With just one glance, Bai Yun'er already understood exactly what had happened here.

After a long period of silence and shock, the soldiers finally snapped back to their senses. They saluted Bai Yun'er crisply—**pa pa pa**—just as they had done for Ding Siyao earlier. She was equally worthy of their respect.

After the synchronized salute, Li Yi and Wei An exchanged a glance. Both saw the shock and astonishment in each other's eyes. This girl, who appeared like a goddess from the pre-apocalypse era, was actually from the military? And her status seemed extremely high!

Ding Siyao stayed silent for a moment before reluctantly stepping forward. He gave Bai Yun'er a sharp military salute and spoke with clear awkwardness: "Miss Bai, what brings you here?"

It wasn't that Ding Siyao had any grudge against her. It was just that two years ago, he had once mocked this delicate-looking girl for joining a combat team—only to be beaten half to death by her on the spot. At that time, Bai Yun'er had been only fifteen years old, while he was already eighteen and carrying out missions.

Two years later, Bai Yun'er was now seventeen. Every time Ding Siyao saw her again, he still felt uncomfortable all over. This girl really hit way too hard.

Bai Yun'er glanced at him. A cold light flashed in her eyes before she asked a question that nearly made Ding Siyao collapse: "Which military district? Who is your commanding officer? What mission are you here to carry out?"

**Crack!**

Ding Siyao completely lost it this time. The inner collapse was indescribable: "You don't recognize me?!"

Come on! We fought two years ago! Even though it was completely one-sided and I got beaten, at least we had that "not fighting, not knowing each other" kind of friendship. It's only been two years—how can you not recognize me?!

Bai Yun'er tilted her head slightly: "Should I know you?"

Ding Siyao fell silent. He suddenly felt that maybe she wasn't wrong. There was no need for the loser to be remembered by the victor.

"Ding Siyao, Tiger Fang Team member." Taking a deep breath, he answered and waited for her reaction.

Now you know, right? I'm from Tiger Fang, you're from Wolf Fang. Technically, we're on the same side.

But what frustrated Ding Siyao even more was that Bai Yun'er showed absolutely no reaction to the words "Tiger Fang." She simply gave a soft acknowledgment, then pointed at the mountain of corpses lining the entire street and asked in a tone as if preparing an official report: "Five thousand zombies, one hundred mutants—how did they die?"

The moment Bai Yun'er spoke, all the soldiers present finally reacted. Too many shocking things had happened one after another; they had almost forgotten the main issue. Who had wiped out this entire horde? Had another army passed through?

An Ze also snapped out of it at this moment. He took two quick steps toward Bai Yun'er, his voice trembling with excitement: "Miss Bai, this is currently a mystery, but we will investigate it as soon as possible."

Getting a chance to talk to Bai Yun'er was, in An Ze's mind, the first step toward conquering another goddess. He had already given up on Shang Jiudi—she had thrown herself at Chu Han. But that was fine; there were two goddesses, and one was still available. Although Bai Yun'er was known as the ice beauty, who knew if she might suddenly lose her mind like Shang Jiudi and throw herself at him too?

The fantasy was beautiful. Reality was cruel.

Bai Yun'er's icy eyes swept over An Ze once before she turned her head away, ignoring him completely.

Far from getting angry at being blatantly disregarded, An Ze stood beside her with a flattering smile, trying to get closer: "Miss Bai, why the sudden interest in An Luo City's situation?"

Bai Yun'er's identity was the biggest mystery in the entire military. Everyone above the rank of Major General knew she was no ordinary person. The big shots from every faction all treated her with great politeness. Just this fact alone was enough to make An Ze desperately suck up to her.

Ding Siyao, who had just been snubbed, saw An Ze getting completely ignored and couldn't help but smirk. There really was a difference, huh? At least Bai Yun'er didn't completely disregard him.

Thinking back to Bai Yun'er's question, Ding Siyao gave Chu Han a complicated look before answering:

"Chu Han killed them."
