Chapter 59 - chapter 58 :Fire vs water

From the floor, specifically around the area where her earlier water attack had splashed, molecules of water could be seen rising.

They moved purposefully toward Amy, now slowly circling around her in a mesmerizing, almost slow-motion swirl of moving water as she fixed her unwavering gaze on Sarah.

"Really? I'd genuinely like to see how you intend to do that," Sarah retorted, her confidence unwavering. She was utterly certain of her strength, and at this moment, only one singular thought permeated her mind: 'They are stronger than you. If I'm not able to beat you, then I'm not yet ready to go up against them.' This battle, for Sarah, was a crucial proving ground.

'I need to become stronger, stronger than them.' As this resolute thought solidified in her mind, the images of two particular individuals briefly flashed before her eyes, serving as powerful motivators.

Amy, having now fully drawn upon the surrounding water once more, gathered it to her side with determined purpose. Then, she declared,

"You think you can just scare us away?"

"Guys, stop!"

Claire shouted from the rear, a distinct tremor of fear beginning to creep into her voice as she witnessed how swiftly and powerfully Sarah had retaliated. "This isn't worth it! I've got the coins, let's go!" Claire pleaded.

She knew Amy's aggressive nature all too well, and the conclusion was simple: Sarah was undeniably stronger than them. Amy stood absolutely no chance on her own.

Perhaps if all three of them collaborated, they might stand a fighting chance, but that was precisely the problem.

Claire was weak and too scared to join the direct confrontation, and Liam too, was uncertain of what to do, only intervening occasionally to try and save his crush.

"Not before teaching this bitch a lesson!"

Amy snapped, her resolve hardened. And with that, she was already in motion. She had now conjured a torrent of water, launching it directly to strike at Sarah.

This time, she attempted to swipe the water in a sweeping, circular motion, intending to completely encircle Sarah and smother any potential flames, should Sarah even decide to attack.

"That's not how it works!" Sarah shouted, her voice cutting sharply through the night air.

With a swift flick of her wrist, she unleashed a wave of flames that instantly intertwined with Amy's water, creating a violent steam explosion that engulfed them all in a thick, obscuring vapor.

Meanwhile, within the swirling mist, Amy struggled desperately to regain her footing as the thick steam severely impaired her vision.

"I can't see! What is she doing?!" she yelled in utter frustration, the hazy environment distorting her perspective and blurring everything around her.

Liam, still relying on his unparalleled speed, darted strategically around the swirling steam, trying to find a clear vantage point to assess the chaotic battlefield.

"We need to regroup, and get out of here!" he called out urgently.

But then, Claire saw Sarah emerging from the dense steam, an intense aura of flames still radiating powerfully around her.

A wave of panic immediately crept in, and she spontaneously screamed, "There she is!" She exclaimed with all her might, yet her hesitation visibly lingered, knowing their previous attempts had ended disastrously.

Sarah, remaining remarkably calm, did not react to Claire's panicked shouts. Instead, she struck her hands firmly onto the ground. Once more, her fiery hands spread the incandescent flames onto the floor, and at that precise moment, the fire instantly began to surround them all, rapidly forming a ring of intense flames around herself and the trio.

They were now effectively trapped within her fiery perimeter, her self-made prison.

"This is your last chance! Hand over the coins!" she warned, her voice firm and uncompromising, leaving no room for negotiation.

In a sudden surge of adrenaline and desperate impulse, Amy plunged forward again, launching yet another furious wave of water toward Sarah.

She was determined to prove their worth, aiming to strike Sarah and push her directly into the very flames she had created.

But Sarah sidestepped gracefully, her movements fluid and precise, utterly avoiding the incoming attack.

The moisture from Amy's assault fizzled harmlessly against Sarah's inherent flames before she swiftly redirected her focus toward Claire, who was struggling desperately to conjure any wind attack she could, trying her utmost to aid the beleaguered group.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Sarah stated, her voice calm but laden with a clear warning.

"Don't you know that fire and oxygen are lovers?" she said jokingly.

Suddenly, Sarah leaped forward with incredible speed and agility, unleashing a fountain of intense fire that streamed directly toward Claire. Her clear objective was to incapacitate her, to knock her out of the fight.

However, her powerful attack unexpectedly crashed into Amy's water, sending her reeling back.

The attack, at least from Sarah's perspective, wasn't a particularly strong one, yet it had completely caught her off guard, highlighting her lack of readiness.

But Sarah immediately regained her posture, displaying remarkable recovery, and zapped toward Amy with renewed intensity.

This time, she was truly done playing. She intended to end the fight decisively; at least, that was the singular thought dominating her mind.

She moved with such blinding speed that Amy was completely caught off guard, utterly unprepared for such an astonishing burst of acceleration.

Still reeling from the shock, Amy instinctively sent two desperate balls of water toward Sarah, but they were utterly ineffective.

It was almost as if Sarah had precisely predicted her movements, swiftly bypassing the incoming attacks with effortless grace.

And with that, she had rapidly made her way toward Amy.

Instantly, she caught her by the neck with a firm grip, and without hesitation, delivered a powerful punch to her stomach.

Amy could feel her insides twisting in an odd, agonizing manner, all her organs gasping for air.

But tragically for her, Sarah wasn't finished yet. Sarah went in for another devastating punch, then another, and another. Each of these blows was as potent and impactful as the previous one, landing with immense force on the victim.

Liam, witnessing the brutal assault and the relentless force with which Sarah was punching Amy, was consumed by a raw, indignant anger.

Amy was the girl he held dear, the one in whom he believed a future could exist for them both. Seeing her so mercilessly beaten ignited the very spark he needed, transforming his hesitation into unyielding resolve.

Now, Liam had no other choice but to protect his friend.

He was no longer going to hide or proceed with caution; the very life of his future wife depended on his immediate action.
