Matilda's eyes widened as she gave Derek a puzzled look. She squeezed her lips together, waiting for his response. Even though she hadn't started sobbing yet, her eyes were turning red. I never realized she could be so emotional.
Tell me, Derek! Is this her?! "Are you in love with her?" Matilda shrieked and gulped down the lump in her throat, her fiery eyes gazing at me with scorn.
Derek looked up to face her, but before he could respond, Mason stepped in and yanked me out of the chair. Everyone turned to face him with quizzical expressions on their faces, wondering what he wanted to do.
My brows creased as I stared at him but he only smirked as he grasped my hand tightly.
"What are you up to, Mason?! Leave her alone and get your hands off her!" Derek yelled while everyone gasped in disbelief. They didn't believe that he would stand up for me or try to defend me.
"I think Derek is truly in love with Isabel.."
"Yeah.. He's so furious at Mason for dragging her that way, see.. Don't you think Gerald was right about them dating?"
Chloe and some other girls murmured among themselves. Everyone watched us with keen interest like they were watching an intriguing movie. I hated to be the talk of the town. I despise being the center of attention and hearing several gossips and murmurs often makes my skin crawl.
Everyone peered at me. Some stared at me with jealousy, some with hatred, some with curiosity and some with disgust.
I rolled my eyes and glared at Mason as I tried to release myself from his grasp.
"What is wrong with you?! What do you want from me?!" I screamed at him but he dragged me closer to himself and I released a gasp as my face came in contact with his broad chest.
Derek fumed, his breath coming out in short bursts as he glared at Mason. The anger on his face was clearly visible and I'm certain he would injure mason If he had his way.
"Derek!" Matilda called as she grasped Derek's arm..
"I still need the answer to my question, Why are you so speechless?"
Derek yanked his arm off her grip but she grasped his arm once again.
"Derek! Do you truly love Isabel?" She asked Derek whose furious eyes were still on Mason. Mason smirked before dragging me closer to himself. I knew he was trying to infuriate Derek. He never liked Derek so he's only using me to make him angry.
"You already have a mate so what else do you want from me? I've told you several times to leave me!" I finally mustered the courage to confront Mason.
"I don't have a mate…" He disclosed and everyone gasped with shock on their faces. What was he saying? Isn't Patricia his mate? Isn't she his f**g mate? He rejected me so he could be with her so what else is he trying to say?
"Patricia and I aren't mates anymore. I rejected her and she did the same to me as well..I guess I should have given it a better thought before choosing someone like her as my mate," Mason disclosed, drawing audible crowds from everyone except Derek and me.
Patricia walked into the class at that moment. When she sighted Mason, she rolled her eyes and strolled to her seat. Everyone's gazes were on her with huge wide eyes and dropped jaws.
She brought out her notebook and acted like she wasn't bothered about the scene going on in the class.
I wonder why they rejected each other. What could have happened? Did they have a brawl? Who knows? Maybe she caught Mason cheating…
Patricia gently placed her book on the table. She was silent and sullen, which was unlike her. Her regular self would have confronted me whenever she saw me with Mason. Her regular self would have strolled into the classroom and acted arrogantly and proud. Did the rejection make her so depressed?
She looked up from the book she was reading and when she saw the multiple stares at her, she heaved and glared at everyone, her face reddening with her breath coming out in short bursts
Gritting her teeth and clenching her fist, her teeth jolted out into fangs and she screamed, "Get your stupid eyes off me and mind your f**g business!!!"
She was short-tempered and hopefully she didn't let her wolf take over…
Almost everyone averted their gazes right away while Mason grasped my hands tighter.
Derek was trying to maintain his cool since I pleaded with him after making eye contact but I'm certain his patience was starting to wear thin.
"Mason.. What do you want from me? you already rejected Patricia so how does that have anything to do with me? What exactly do you want from me?!"
I asked him nicely but he smiled like a fool and chortled lightly. What could be so funny?
"Mason.. Get your stinking hands off her!"
Derek threatened while Mason smirked.
"Since I already rejected Patricia, I have every reason to make you mine, Isabel. It's high time you came back to me.. "
"What!" I asked, stifling a gasp as I stared at him with disbelief.
"No! I can never go back to someone like you, Mason. I told you to forget about me! Let me be!" I yelled but he sank his fingers into my hair and tilted my head sideways so he could have a proper look at my neck.
"You told me you have a mate so I wouldn't have anything to do with you but I've come to realize that you have only been lying. You don't have a mark."
Mason bawled, his voice loud and clear.
My heart raced as I heard his words. I concealed the mark on my neck which made him think I hadn't found my mate yet.
"I told you my mate is yet to mark me! Even if I don't have a mate, you have no right to claim me as yours. I'm taken already and you should try to register that into your brain!"
Snapping at him, I tried to wriggle in his grasp but he pulled me closer once again. Everyone's eyes were still on us and I'm starting to get so nervous.
"No matter how you hide from me, I'll still find you. I told you I rejecting you then but I'm ready to make you my mate, Isabel,"
"No.. no. You can't do this, Mason. I'm taken..you have to know that. I can never have a pervert like you as a mate. You'll end up using me over and over again," I screamed and hit him with my fists but he grasped my elbow and drew me closer to him again.
"Mason! Get your f**g hands off her right now!" Derek threatened, his voice booming in the whole classroom.
Matilda stood on a spot, watching the whole scene with a series of emotions on her face. She was jealous seeing two guys fight over me. She was angry at me for getting their attention and she was sad because Derek didn't even care about her feelings.
"MASON!" Derek growled while Mason smirked as he turned to face him.
He pushed me to a wall and grasped my hair before shifting his gaze back at Mason.
"Why are you so disturbed seeing us together? Are you her boyfriend, urh? Are you her mate?!" He asked stupidly.
"Since you're so pissed seeing me want to claim her as mine, why don't I make you more upset by doing this?!"
Mason snapped at Derek, a mischievous smile tugging his lips. He turned to face me with a naughty smile and before I could process anything, he cupped my cheek and claimed my lips in his hungrily.
