Chapter 205: The Treasure of the Divine Crane
"They aren't specifically attacking me?" Sasuke exclaimed, as if facing a formidable enemy.
The Kamizuru clan's summoning beast, a gigantic version of a wood bee, could be used as a high-mid-level flying beast. They also possessed a sticky honey technique, similar to his own secret syrup art, and a formidable jutsu for hiding in rocks. However, the latter posed no threat under the detection of his sonic radar techniques.
"Captain, the Hokage has already dispatched the Aburame clan's ninjas. The Kamizuru clan's arrogance won't last much longer," one of his subordinates told him.
As clans that handled insects, the Kamizuru seemed to have an advantage in size, but the Aburame's smaller, more numerous insects offered another advantage. Sasuke knew that developing an air force was extremely expensive, but its importance was undeniable. If the Aburame clan were defeated, Konoha would lose air control.
'I'm thinking of visiting Iwagakure. Why don't I stop by the Kamizuru clan? Maybe I can find a way to get in.'
Currently, Iwa's masters were on the front lines. Only the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, Roshi, guarded the village. His main reason for wanting to visit Iwa was to borrow their Kekkei Genkai Fusion Scroll to accelerate his own Ice Style project. Sneaking in was difficult, but entering through the front door was quite easy. He took the opportunity to assassinate a returning chunin and, using Orochimaru's Disfigurement Technique, he disguised himself and easily entered. Once inside, he used the Spore Technique and arrived at the most luxurious complex in the village, only to discover it wasn't the Tsuchikage Building, but the home of the Kamizuru clan.
"This Kamizuru clan has already met its end," Sasuke thought. Their extravagant lifestyle was nothing like a ninja's, but rather a noble's.
Using his radar technique, he found the clan's hidden treasure vault and infiltrated it.
"Have I snuck into the Daimyo of the Land's treasure?" he thought, as if in a dream. The mountain of chests was so impressive that not even the most established nobles could possess such wealth. He understood that, taking advantage of their honey's benefits for longevity, they had connected with the nobility, establishing trade routes and expanding their business throughout the land, amassing a fortune comparable to a nation's.
Setting aside the gold and jewels, the three items at the back of the vault were the most valuable of all.
