Chapter 206: The Kusanagi Blade
"Could this be the Kamizuru Clan Summoning Scroll?"
A large, ancient scroll lay in the center of the treasure vault. A closer look at the inscriptions confirmed that it was, without a doubt, it. In the bottom left corner was a long sword, and in the bottom right, a pile of transaction ledgers, detailing the trade agreements between the Kamizuru clan and the nobles of the Land of Earth. As for the sword, while its design resembled Orochimaru's Kusanagi, it was inscribed with numerous sealing talismans, which suggested it was formidable.
"Samehada, what's that?"
The sword trembled in his hand, and Sasuke quickly sent some energy to calm it. It was fear. Samehada feared the blade.
As a precaution, he had a shadow clone inspect it. It was discovered to be capable of cutting even an Executioner's Blade. But that wasn't all. Upon infusing it with chakra, the blade could pierce ninjutsu barriers with ease.
"This blade seems like a stark contrast to Itachi's Totsuka Blade," Sasuke exclaimed with delight. With this blade, he no longer had to fear the limitations of enchantments like the Four Violet Flames Formation.
"Could it be another Kusanagi blade?" he wondered. The three known ones possessed indestructible and extremely sharp properties, very similar to this one. Orochimaru's could extend, Sasuke Uchiha's incorporated Lightning Style, and Itachi's, the Totsuka Blade, possessed a sealing jutsu.
"Whether you're the Kusanagi or not, now that you're in my hands, I'll call you the Seal-Breaker Blade," he said, hanging the divine blade from his waist.
"Hmm~," Samehada coiled around his shoulder, vying for his affection. Since it had absorbed large amounts of energy, its intelligence had grown; aside from its inability to speak, it was practically indistinguishable from a high-level summoning beast.
After sheathing the Seal-Breaker Blade, his clone finished inspecting the large scroll. It was, indeed, the Kamizuru clan's Summoning Scroll. However, he did not rush to modify it. Instead, he began to move the treasure chests. Using his clones and the coordinated Flying Thunder God, he transported the scrolls to the underground chamber beneath the Land of Waves.
After less than ten trips, the vault door opened, revealing the Kamizuru clan's Great Elder, Jinfeng.
"Wind Breath, First Style: Fish Slice!"
Sasuke brandished the Seal-Breaker Blade and pierced him, easily dispatching him. In his youth, Jinfeng possessed elite combat power, but now, old and pampered, he could barely maintain that level.
"Chakra metal?" Sasuke wondered, discovering a piece of the valuable material in the chest the elder was carrying.
After sealing the Great Elder's body, he continued moving the treasure. Then, fully recovered, he headed to the Tsuchikage Building. The innermost part was protected by another sealing barrier. To avoid alerting the sensory ninjas, he decided to repeat his previous tactic.
"Disfigurement Technique!" he exclaimed, melting the Great Elder's skin and covering his own with it. Onoki was not in the village; the Four-Tails Jinchuriki, Roshi, was in charge. The Tsuchikage Building guards did not hesitate to allow the "Kamizuru Elder" to easily pass through the barrier.
"Spore Jutsu!" he whispered, and after stealthily bypassing the guards, he finally arrived at the innermost chamber and found the Sealed Book. However, he did not rush to break its barrier. Instead, he retrieved a large-capacity scroll and stored all the intelligence files and documents from the chamber, each of which represented a well-hidden enemy spy.
