Her Zixuan was now a grown man, a married man, and a father. Her eyes watered with emotion as she fed him, looking at him lovingly with every gulp he took.
"Father." Zixuan called out after catching sight of his father's figure. He was happy to see him.
But something was weird.
Why was he standing there, not moving?
"Father."
He called out again, but there was no response—only silence. He looked at his mum with a worried gaze. "Mum?"
Mrs. Fu also shook her head, confused as well.
"Honey," she called softly, walking closer to her husband before patting his arm. Only then did he finally snap out of his daze.
"It's our son, right?" Mr. Fu asked his wife, pointing toward the confused Zixuan on the bed.
A single tear slipped from Mrs. Fu's eyes as she understood what was going on. Nodding her head, she whispered into his ear with a calming, soothing voice, "Our son is alive. He's right in front of us."
Mr. Fu finally nodded after registering that his son really was there.
