Emily's POV
I couldn't help the pang of envy when Kyra told me she and Nathan had reconciled. Her happily-ever-after was beginning, and she deserved every bit of it. But my love life? A complete disaster. My fiancé died. Past relationships crashed and burned. And Kieran? He just used me. Now I'm alone again.
"Emily!"
I rolled my eyes at the familiar, irritating voice. I dropped some bills on the counter and grabbed my bag, eager to escape, but I could feel him following me.
Goddess! I'd already succeeded in making him investigate his father. He wouldn't stop now that he'd discovered something, but why did he have to chase me?
"EMILY, I'M NOT GONNA STOP FOLLOWING YOU UNTIL YOU FUCKING STOP RUNNING AWAY AND TALK TO ME!"
My jaw nearly hit the floor as everyone in the bar turned to stare. Some looked annoyed, others laughed mockingly.
Fuck! I angrily took another step, attempting to ignore him, but he shouted again like a madman.
