Chapter 47 - Conclusions...

Fenris headed Axel straight to the same house that he had been living, moving with a clear sense of focus as he led him through the familiar path.

The decision wasn't something he paused to reconsider; it formed naturally because there was no other place that they could go, he still had to go back there even though he knew that if Callum was going to look for them again, he would look in that house.

But Fenris didn't mind that possibility as much now because now Axel was around. The presence beside him changed how he measured risk. He could handle Callum while Axel was around.

But it wasn't like he was planning to let him live there with him. Fenris himself wasn't planning to live there either.

He was really ready to die.

Earlier when he had left the house, he felt like that was his end, but he didn't want to die in isolation, he didn't want to die in that house, because.. what if no one went back there? Would that mean he would rot there?!
