"Who have you been texting, Ave?" Riley asked as they devoured the remaining small pieces of their food, after Aveline had tapped out to focus on her phone.
"Seth."
Freya's heart tumbled, but otherwise, she showed no reaction.
Riley was already making instigating remarks. She didn't want to give her more ammunition.
But also, she couldn't help the way she felt jumpy every time his name was mentioned.
"What even is that?" She questioned herself internally.
"Seth huh? What does he want?" Riley asked, her eyes twinkling as she set her gaze on Freya.
"Stop looking at me, Riles."
"But you look so gorgeous. Can't I stare at my cousin anymore?" Riley replied, her smile widening.
Freya rolled her eyes hard, and continued to chew.
"It's something personal," Aveline said, as she responded to the text.
"It had to be very important since you've been texting nonstop for the past thirty minutes," she paused and smiled. "You two are really close," she added.
