The bar was loud with music,
Minjoon slipped inside quietly,
his phone pressed to his ear.
"Hyung, I really don't want to come," Jihyun's voice sounded through the line, reluctant.
"Dad's forcing me."
Minjoon sighed as he pushed open the VIP room door.
"It's okay. If Dad's asking, just visit now.
You'll probably leave soon anyway."
"Okay, if you say so."
"Good."
" But when l come back,
"we'll go to a bar together."
"Sure. Then take care, I'll see you soon."
The call ended. Minjoon tossed his phone onto the table and leaned back.
A waiter entered with a tray bottles of soju, makgeolli, and whiskey.
Minjoon poured himself a glass, scrolling on his phone as the drinks slowly disappeared.
(An hour later)
He was slouched against the couch, half-drunk, when a figure slid into the seat beside him.
"I'm Rujin," a male Omega said smoothly, flashing a smile. "And you?"
"Han Minjoon," he muttered, shifting slightly away on the couch.
But the omega leaned closer anyway, forcing his glass against Minjoon's with a sharp clink. "Cheers."
The scent of Omega pheromones slowly filled the air. Minjoon stiffened, turning his head toward him, but he didn't move away again. His blurred gaze lingered, caught between irritation and indifference.
"Hello, Mr. Minjoon."
That low voice snapped him back. He looked up.
Taehyun stood there, hands in his pockets, an eyebrow raised.
"What are you doing here?"
Minjoon asked flatly.
"I came with friends,"
Taehyun replied with ease.
"I saw you before, but since you didn't greet me, I thought I'd come instead."
Minjoon gave a short nod, already looking away.
Taehyun's eyes flicked to the Omega beside him, his jaw tightening.
"Seems like you're enjoying yourself a bit too much."
"None of your business,"
Minjoon shot back. "Go away."
But Taehyun didn't. He stood there, gaze heavy. Minjoon, annoyed, turned back to omega and muttered,
"Let's go somewhere else."
Omega eyes lit up. He clung to Minjoon's shoulder as they stood to leave.
"Minjoon."
He turned at the sound of his name and Taehyun stepped closer.
"Let's go."
"Where?" Minjoon frowned.
Without waiting for an answer, Taehyun grabbed his wrist, pulling him out of the bar.
In seconds, Minjoon was shoved into the passenger seat of Taehyun's car.
"Have you lost your mind? Let me go!" Minjoon snapped, trying to open the door.
Taehyun slid into the driver's seat calmly.
"I won't."
"What right do you have to stop me like this?!" Minjoon shouted, eyes blazing.
Taehyun turned to him, his voice firm.
"I'm your husband. I do have the right. Do you expect me to sit still while some stranger seduce my wifey?"
Minjoon's chest tightened, anger mixing with confusion.
"Stop it. I'm not your wife. I'm not anything to you. Let me make it clear Taehyun,
if it's flirting or whatever quit here. I'm an Alpha, and so are you. We can't have a future together. So let me live my life."
Taehyun leaned closer, his eyes dark.
"I told you before. Who said Alphas can't be with Alphas?"
"I don't know," Minjoon muttered, his breath uneven. "I just can't."
Taehyun's face inched closer.
"No. Give me the reason."
Minjoon froze, his mind foggy from the alcohol. His lips parted, but no words came.
Taehyun's voice dropped, rough.
"If you're not going to tell me
then I'll get my answer on my own."
And before Minjoon could react,
Taehyun crushed his lips against his. The kiss was harsh, desperate, burning with frustration. Minjoon's eyes widened his lips trembled, reacting unconsciously for a second,
Before he shoved Taehyun back.
Breathless, he flung the car door open and stumbled out, running toward his own car. His heart pounded violently, his chest a storm. Angry. Happy. Confused. He didn't even know.
Taehyun leaned back in his seat, a slow smirk curling on his lips.
"I got my answer. Even if you're drunk for me, it's yes."
(Kang Group)
Around eleven pm, Taewon stepped out of his office. He was about to leave when a faint light caught his eye from one of the departments.
Inside, an employee sat alone, typing away.
"What are you still doing here?"
Taewon's voice was calm but firm.
The young woman shot up from her seat, bowing quickly.
"S-sorry, sir. There was a lot of work, so I"
"You're new, Miss Minji,"
Taewon cut her off coldly.
"I don't think you know the rules yet. No employee stays past eight. If there's work left, finish it at home. Don't repeat this again."
"Yes, sir," she bowed deeply, gathering her bag and files before rushing out.
Taewon checked the office once, then left for his car.
On the road outside, Minji waited for a taxi. Her eyes lingered on Taewon's car as it passed, her lips curling faintly.
The moment his taillights disappeared, a taxi pulled up.
She stepped inside.
"Gangnam street"
The driver nodded.
