It was Saturday, yet Minjoon was buried in work as always, eyes glued to his computer screen.
Across the desk, Taehyun sat silently, leaning back in the chair he had claimed, watching him like a statue.
Minjoon finally snapped. He slammed his pen down and glared at him.
"Why are you still here?
You come every morning, sit here all day, and stare at me like I'm some kind of TV."
Taehyun tilted his head, lips curving into a teasing grin.
"Exactly. That's what I wanted to hear. You're entertaining."
Minjoon's temper flared hotter.
"Don't you have any actual work?
Or any responsibilities?
Instead of wasting my time sitting here"
"I do have a responsibility,"
Taehyun cut in, playful but steady.
"Want to hear it?"
"I'm not interested,"
Minjoon snapped.
"Even if you had one, I'm sure it's useless. That's why you're sitting here like this."
Taehyun's smile didn't falter, but his voice hardened.
"Minjoon, you're going too far. It's not something I came up with. It's from my mom. Are you calling her ideas useless?
I came here because she told me to ask you. But you're always too busy."
Minjoon blinked, caught off guard. His tone softened slightly.
"Sorry. But you sit here all day without saying a word. How am I supposed to know what she wanted?"
Taehyun leaned forward, eyes gleaming with mischief again.
"She gave me a responsibility to find myself a wife."
Minjoon froze, his head snapping up.
"Then what are you doing here?
I can't give you any information about my employees for this nonsense."
"Who said I was talking about the employees?"
Taehyun smirked, his voice dropping lower.
"I'm talking about you, cutie future Chairman."
Minjoon's blood boiled. He shot up from his chair.
"What did you just say?
Get out of my office!"
Taehyun stood too, calm and tall, eyes locked on him.
"Why? What's so wrong about liking you? You're cute."
"Are you insane?!"
Minjoon's voice cracked with rage.
"I'm an Alpha, not an Omega!"
Taehyun's smirk widened.
"Who decided Alphas can only be with Omegas?
Who said two Alphas can't be mates?"
That was the last straw. Minjoon's face flushed scarlet.
"Security! Get this man out!"
Two guards rushed in, grabbing Taehyun's arms. As they dragged him away, he didn't resist. Instead, he looked back at Minjoon, smirking like a devil.
He blew a playful kiss.
"Let's meet again, jagiya."
The door slammed shut. Minjoon's heart pounded furiously, his ears burning though he couldn't tell if it was from anger or something else.
(Jail – Visiting Room)
Taesung and Taewon sat silently at the cold metal table. The clang of the door echoed as Mr. Kang was escorted in by guards. His sharp eyes locked onto his sons, lips curling into a bitter smirk.
"Why did you two idiots come here today?" he spat as he sat.
Taewon stayed silent, jaw tight. Taesung leaned forward, his voice calm but heavy.
"It's been a long time, Dad. Honestly, I don't even remember when we last met."
Mr. Kang's gaze darkened.
"You're all the same. Shit like your mother disobedient to the core.
One day you'll regret not listening."
Taewon slammed his hand against the table, fury flashing in his eyes.
"Stop dragging my mother into this!
There's nothing left for us to regret. But you" his voice broke into steel,
"you'll be the one regretting."
Taesung quickly grabbed his wrist, pulling him back before things went too far. His tone was firm, almost sorrowful.
"Dad, do you know why I came today?
To tell you this,
The partners you always hated, the ones you tried to harm, the ones you never accepted they are the people still standing by us. Unlike you."
Mr. Kang sneered.
"You stupid, i didn't and I kept you because I cared. Everything I did, my whole life, was for you. Those partners of yours are nothing but dirt compared to me."
"No, Dad," Taesung cut him off sharply, voice trembling with anger.
"You didn't care. If you did, you wouldn't have pushed us away when we needed you most. You wouldn't have destroyed every chance to be a father.
You said you wanted to keep us, but your way only drove us further. And what did you gain?
Look around you're in here, locked up, because you exploited innocent people to feed your greed. Meanwhile, we're still a family out there. You lost everything."
Mr. Kang shot to his feet, veins bulging.
"You fools! Ungrateful pieces of shit! Just wait,
Once I'm out, I'll kill every last one of you! And you, Taewon" his finger jabbed forward, trembling with rage,
"You'll be first!"
The guards rushed in as Mr. Kang thrashed violently, shouting like a man possessed. They tied his arms and dragged him back, his curses echoing down the hall.
"Apologies," one officer muttered with a bow to the brothers before leaving.
Taewon's fists were still trembling. Taesung placed a firm hand on his shoulder. Without another word, they turned and walked out, leaving their father's shadow behind the steel doors.
