Kuro didn't answer Lynn's words but stared at him solemnly. From the sword that had split the towering cliff, Kuro realized he was no match at all.
Just then, Luffy on the side complained loudly, "Lynn, he's my opponent! Don't attack him!"
Lynn waved dismissively. "Fine, I won't bother with you anymore."
Turning back to Kuro, Lynn smirked. "Captain Kuro, come on. I'm counting on you. Take down that rubber bastard..."
"Nani!?" everyone gasped.
Luffy laughed, "How could I die here? I'm going to be the Pirate King!"
Lynn scoffed, "Pirate King? What's so great about that? I want to be the Sea King!"
"Sea King? What kind of king is that? I've never heard of it!" one pirate whispered.
"Well, judging by his strength just now, he might actually pull it off," another whispered.
"Hey, hey! Now's not the time to talk about this, okay? Is he really just going to stand there?"
Lynn ignored the chatter. He was far too pleased—his system had just rewarded him with primary Observation Haki and primary Armament Haki!
Out of the corner of his eye, Lynn spotted Nami on the pirate ship. Instantly, he flashed over, wrapped an arm around her waist, and asked, "Nami, is your shoulder okay? Why are you so careless? Does it hurt?"
Nami sneered, "Let me go!"
Lynn scratched his head sheepishly. "I can't help it, I just can't."
Nami smirked playfully, "It's 100,000 Beri every time. You owe me 900,000 Beri total!"
Lynn's eyes widened. "You're ruthless! How can you do this to me?"
Nami shot back, "Who told you to take advantage of me?"
Lynn leaned close to her ear and teased, "Well then, how many Beri were there that night?"
Pia! Nami blushed and slapped him. "You... you..."
Lynn shrugged. "It's your own fault for acting that way just now."
Before Nami could reply, the battle reignited.
From the slope by the coast, the pirates frozen in shock screamed.
"Ahhh..."
"Stop it, Captain Kuro..."
"We're all going to die! Someone call that guy—he's the only one who can stop Captain Kuro, right?"
Nami on the ship worried, "Is Luffy okay? No one's even touched them, how could they be hurt? What's going on?!"
Lynn explained calmly, "Those injuries? Kuro slashed them. Kuro's speed is too fast for the naked eye."
Nami shoved Lynn. "If you know this, why aren't you helping? Aren't you comrades? Luffy won't die, right?"
Lynn pulled her into his arms, eyes serious. "Why get so flustered over such a small thing? Luffy said it's fine, so it is fine. We have to trust our friends. Without trust, we'll never get anywhere. Understand?"
Nami thought for a moment, then realized that stinky Lynn was just taking advantage of her again.
Before she could say anything, Lynn jumped in, "So, why do you work so hard for money? Family debts? Someone sick? Or…"
Bam! Nami slapped him hard across the face. Or or or? Where did so many or's come from?
After their playful bickering on the ship, the fight around Luffy's side ended.
Lynn grinned and wrapped his arm around Nami's waist again. "See? I told you, right?"
"Space field…"
Lynn activated his ability and teleported Nami to Luffy's side.
Nami complained, "Why don't you let go? You really won't miss any chance, huh?"
Lynn finally released her and turned to check on Luffy, who was too tired to even stand and had collapsed on the ground.
"Armament Haki hardening..." Lynn slapped Luffy sharply.
"Ow! Why'd you hit me? That hurts!"
Nami looked puzzled. "Aren't you rubber? Why does it hurt?"
Luffy suddenly recalled Lynn's earlier words and gasped, "Lynn, do you... have haki now?"
Lynn looked up at the sky, sighing, "Yeah, genius is genius. When I wake up, I have three colors of haki. What can I do?"
Luffy pouted. "So what? I'll get there eventually too. I'm going to be Pirate King!"
Nami, confused, asked, "Wait, what's this haki you're talking about?"
Lynn shook his head. "Later. Where are Zoro and the others? Let's find them first."
After resting a while, Luffy and the others got up and went searching for Zoro and company.
Lynn opened his system page quickly:
