Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Learning Instant Transmission

Inside the Palace...

A middle-aged man clad in traditional Yardrat attire sat calmly on a stone throne, his expression serene yet filled with curiosity.

As Rayden and the others stepped inside, the man spoke slowly and solemnly.

> "I never thought... after the destruction of Planet Vegeta, I would still live to see Saiyans."

It was the Great Elder of Yardrat, his voice ancient and filled with wisdom.

> "Thank you for protecting our planet from invaders," he continued. "And for destroying the evil emperor of the universe—Frieza!"

Rayden smiled modestly.

> "I've heard that the Yardrat people possess many mysterious techniques. It seems the rumors were true."

> "Since you already know who we are, Great Elder, then you likely know the reason for our visit."

The Great Elder nodded, his eyes closing briefly.

> "I will allow you to study the secret arts of Planet Yardrat. However, the outcome will depend on your comprehension and determination, not on me."

Rayden gave a resolute nod. It didn't matter how hard it was—he would learn Instant Transmission, even if it took years.

The Great Elder turned to his aide.

> "Pibala, take them with you."

> "Yes, Great Elder!" Pibala bowed.

> "Please, follow me everyone," he said kindly, gesturing toward the exit.

Rayden and the rest quickly followed.

---

After more than ten minutes of walking through the alien terrain, Pibala brought the group to a massive stone gate nestled at the base of a towering cliff.

> "This is it," Pibala said with reverence. "The stone walls inside are inscribed with the many secret techniques of our people. You may study them freely and attempt to comprehend them."

He glanced at Rayden.

> "Whether you succeed depends entirely on your ability to understand."

Rayden nodded and turned to Bulma.

> "Bulma, please wait here and help Pibala with any tech he can share. You might find something interesting. You're good at this sort of thing."

Bulma huffed but smiled.

> "Fine! But don't take forever in there!"

With that, everyone except Bulma entered through the stone door.

---

Inside the chamber...

They walked through a winding corridor that slowly descended. Eventually, the path opened into a vast underground palace.

The walls glowed softly, etched with ancient symbols and illustrations—a library of Yardrat's deepest secrets.

Rayden turned to address the group.

> "Pay close attention to the patterns on these walls. If you focus your mind, the names and abilities of each technique will reveal themselves to you."

> "Everyone, search for the technique that resonates with you."

They all scattered across the chamber, eager to begin.

Rayden calmly walked along the wall, his fingers tracing various inscriptions as he searched for the one technique he truly wanted: Instant Transmission.

> "Rayden, come here!" Goku's voice called out, filled with excitement. "I found one! It says you can teleport instantly to anywhere in the universe!"

Rayden rushed over. The symbols radiated a unique energy.

> "That's it. Instant Transmission."

He focused on the writing, letting the knowledge flow into his mind.

> So this is it... I've been searching this whole time, and Goku stumbles across it by accident.

Rayden chuckled at the irony.

He turned to Goku.

> "This technique will let you lock onto the energy of someone—even gods on Earth—and instantly teleport to them. I've been looking for this. You found it first!"

> "I just thought the markings here looked cool!" Goku laughed, scratching his head.

> "Want to learn it together?" Rayden offered.

> "Of course! This is amazing!"

Their discussion drew the attention of the others.

> "Kakarot is learning it? Then I am too!" Vegeta said stubbornly.

> "Hmph. I won't be left behind either," Piccolo added with a grunt.

Tien Shinhan tried focusing, but after several hours, his face showed deep frustration.

> "It's too difficult. It'll take me years just to grasp the basics."

He looked at Chiaotzu.

> "Let's go find something else."

Yamcha blinked.

> "If Tien can't do it... yikes."

Krillin sighed.

> "Yeah, maybe we should pick something easier."

The two of them wandered off to find other techniques.

Rayden looked at Gohan, who stood hesitantly by the wall.

> "Gohan, give it a try. If it doesn't work, find a technique that suits you better."

Gohan smiled.

> "Okay, Uncle Rayden!"

With that, Rayden, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, and Piccolo sat down and began their training in Instant Transmission.

---

Half a year passed inside the chamber.

They survived on Senzu Beans—Rayden had brought 30 beans for everyone, taken from his remaining stash of 298 (he kept 58 for himself).

Then, one day...

> Rayden finally mastered Instant Transmission.

Not long after, he discovered another technique—Plant Growth Induction—and began studying it.

Two months later, Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta also succeeded in learning Instant Transmission.

Meanwhile, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu each found other techniques that greatly enhanced their existing moves.

Rayden had now learned both Instant Transmission and Plant Growth Induction.

He turned to Goku.

> "Goku, we should head out. Bulma's been waiting outside for six months."

Everyone exited the palace and flew toward Pibala and Bulma using the Flying Technique.

During her wait, Bulma had immersed herself in alien technology, learning and documenting countless innovations.

After bidding farewell to the Great Elder and Pibala, everyone placed their hands on Rayden's shoulder.

In an instant, they vanished from Yardrat.

---

Back on Earth — Kame House

In a flash, everyone appeared at Master Roshi's Turtle House.

The old master nearly choked on his drink, dropping his magazine in shock.

After some greetings and quick catch-ups, the group went their separate ways.

Bulma offered Vegeta a place to stay at her home.

Rayden and Goku returned to Mount Paozu.

Rayden turned to Gohan and ruffled his hair.

> "Gohan, head home first. I've got something to discuss with your dad."

> "Okay, Uncle Rayden!" Gohan replied happily and ran off.

Goku looked puzzled.

> "Rayden, why are we going into the mountains?"

Rayden grinned and clapped him on the back.

> "Chi-Chi's always complaining that you don't earn money, right?"

> "Well... yeah," Goku laughed.

> "I've got a great idea. Let's turn this back mountain into a wilderness resort."

Goku's eyes lit up.

> "Whoa! That's genius!"

Rayden began clearing rocks using Cutting Disc, while Goku searched the forest for fruit trees.

They worked hard for two days.

Together, they built an incredible resort:

Cozy cabins

Wildflowers blooming everywhere

Fruit orchards

Fish ponds

Swimming pools

Rock formations

And a natural tree wall grown with Rayden's new plant technique.

Mission accomplished.

Rayden and Goku returned to the house and shared the idea with Chi-Chi.

As they explained, Chi-Chi's eyes filled with tears.

> Goku... finally contributing...

She was so moved, she stopped forcing Gohan to become a scholar.

Bulma, hearing the news, helped promote the resort on TV.

The result?

Tourists poured in.

Chi-Chi counted money until her hands cramped.

---

Time passed...

Rayden, Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta trained daily.

Krillin stayed on Kame Island, Yamcha went off on his own, and Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu practiced in the mountains.

Bulma, using the alien knowledge she had acquired, constructed a 500-times gravity chamber using rare minerals.

Rayden and the others trained inside it every day.

---

Half a Month Later...

Both Vegeta and Gohan successfully transformed into Super Saiyans.
