Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Stacy's POV

"Mmmm...." I groaned, due to the pain I felt on my head. My eyes were opened slowly and I tried to find a way to make sense of everything. However, upon opening my eyes, there was something I noticed.

I was in an unknown location filled with nothing, but scrapes. It looked like a warehouse, but what caused me to instantly turn pale was the fact that I was surrounded by strange men who I had never seen before. Their scents were like that of rogues, their gaze, giving me a reason to fear.

My neck was in one of their hands, and there was a knife across my neck.

"Ahhh!" I yelled, trying so hard not to shake so much in order not to make myself be hurt by the knife.

"What do you want with me! Let me go, let me--"

"You better keep shut, we are going to make this simple, and quick, we promise you won't feel a thing," One of them said, and the others replied by nodding their heads with sinister looks in their eyes.

"No, let me go please, let me..." The knife was so close to my neck, I felt it's sharpness in my flesh.

"Please--"

I was interrupted by the way the door flew open, a black wolf revealing itself. It's eyes black, and it's teeth blared in anger.

It came as a shock, and before the rogues could react, their bodies were being pounced on, their necks being pulled away from their necks.

All I saw was the huge wolf pouncing, and blood being splashed around as screams were let out.

"Run!!!" The leader who had a knife to my neck tried to run away but it wasn't really possible. Before he could, the wolf pounced on him, and once he crushed his head against the floor, the wolf turned his head towards me, approaching me in a way that caused me to pull my legs to my chest, waiting for me to be devoured as well.

However, that never happened.

"Didn't you know that was a trap?" The voice asked with raised brows, and by the time I raised my head, creased lines immediately appeared on my forehead, but his hands remained crossed over his chest.

I rolled my eyes. I had earlier wanted to thank him, but recalling the question he asked caused me to despise him more.

"Is that any way to talk to a lady?" I threw back, but he shook his head.

"I don't think you value your life. Why didn't you just watch where you were going, and how could you be so dumb?" He questioned, but instead of actually caring about what was going on, I preferred to walk away.

Afterall, he was nothing to me. I walked out of the building, and somehow managed to find my way to the mainroad, hailing a cab that helped me reach home.

"What happened to you?" That was the first question that reached my ears when I got to the packhouse. My father was so worried he couldn't stop staring at me.

"You have a--"

"Yes dad, I do," I expressed, taking a sit close to him.

"You have bruises, what happened?" He seemed worried, but I didn't really take it to heart.

"It was an ambush I guess, but the most important thing is that I'm okay."

My father's eyes darkened. "I'm going to have to do something about this. I can't let anything happen to you. Besides, you're my daughter," he expressed, making me nod.

I understood I was an asset now, and my dad was willing to do anything to protect me at this time. "I promise to get to the bottom of this."

A few days had passed, and I hadn't heard anything about Kai. I was worried, but then in my state of worry, a letter came in, informing me about Kia's return.

"Yes! I have to go see him,"I said. However, this time, my wolf remained silent.

I quickly refreshed myself, and got dressed, making myself look presentable.

Without delay, I rushed to my dad, informing him of my plans.

"Dad, I heard his back, and I want to go see him," I expressed, making him a bit worried.

"Hmm, and you're leaving now?" He asked, and I nodded, ready to leave, but he called me back.

"Hold on. You can't just leave. You need some guards for protection."

I tried to laugh It off, but my father wasn't having it. "Don't try to laugh It off, you're going to think that it's actually funny, but it's really not. You were in a situation last time, and if the moon goddess had not intervened by sending you a saviour on time, I'm sure you wouldn't have been able to escape."

Pressing my lips together, and noticing my father would never let me go without actually any protection, I decided to do what I thought was best. I decided to go with guards."

"Just two dad, just two," I expressed, looking so serious.

"Yes, that would be alright..." He agreed with my words, and I was on my way back to Kai's pack.

Upon arrival, I sighted Kai immediately as I walked into the pack house, and I couldn't contain my joy.

Rushing towards him was inevitable, but it seemed I instantly regretted it because the cold, uncaring demeanor he wore threw me off.

It was almost like my hugs were a sickness to him.

"Kai, what's wrong?" I tried to enquire what was happening to him, or what made him to be in a bad mood, but his silence was the only reply I got.

I frowned, taking in a deep breath as I tried not to overthink things.

"Alright, at least tell me about your trip. I came the other day, and you weren't around to give me the tour, it was your brother who gave me the tour," when I explained, and didn't get a response, I decided to tell him my mind.

"Speaking about your brother, you should becareful of him. I don't think he likes the thought of us being married," i explained, but he stared at me for a while before moving away.

"What's wrong with him?" I thought, attempting to call his name, but stopped in my attempt, and instead decided to go after him.

Unable to reach him, I called, "Kai!" Causing him to stop in his tracks. I hurried to face him, my eyes staring into his, and without warning, I slammed my lips against him.

"Ouch!" I yelled, watching how he walked away. He had just pushed me, hard enough for me to stagger, hitting myself against the wall. He didn't even care to look back after leaving me there, almost speechless, and engulfed in shock.

Something was definitely wrong with him?"
