"Garrett, we were just—" Natalie began before a wild yip-yip pierced the air. Tootles the poodle ran full-throttle into the kitchen with an excited Andie right behind him. The cats stopped washing themselves and started hissing again.
Natalie turned, still clutching the sprayer. Garrett's solemn gaze met hers. Then he pulled the third SuperBlaster from behind his back and pointed it at Natalie.
"Ready," he said.
Laughing, both Sylvie and Mike said, "Yes sir!"
"Aim."
Everyone pretended to cock the guns as they pointed them at Natalie.
Natalie reached behind her and turned on the faucet, aiming her pitiful excuse for water gun at them. She heard a sound she didn't recognize, and then realized it was Garrett's laughter. Deep and masculine, its sensuality rippled over her. She didn't have much time to admire it, however, with three SuperBlasters trained on her.
