Tiamat caught herself before hitting the ground, growling in anger before unleashing a blast of celestial blue flames from her mouth. The flames completely enveloped Gilgamesh in his golden aura, while the smile on his face never faded. Tiamat prided herself on having some of the hottest flames in the supernatural world, just behind Amaterasu the Sun Goddess, Ddraig, 666 (Trihexa), and Great Red. However, Tiamat was shocked to see that Gilgamesh in his golden aura hadn't taken any damage from her fire.
"That doesn't make sense!? You should be nothing but a pile of ashes!" Tiamat roared. With a beat of her powerful wings, Tiamat rushed at Gilgamesh, bringing her clawed hand/paw down, hitting Gilgamesh and sending him flying far away.
"Purgatory Dragon's Roar," Gilgamesh unleashed a literal sea of flames that threatened to engulf anything it came into contact with. Tiamat was taken aback; the only beings she knew who could unleash so much fire at once were Crom Cruach, Ddraig, and the two Apocalyptic Beasts. Thinking quickly, Tiamat unleashed a massive wave of ice from her mouth that met Gilgamesh's sea of flames.
The resulting clash caused a massive wall of steam to form, filling the entire area and making it nearly impossible to see.
Tiamat quickly rose into the air and flapped her wings, making all the steam disappear and revealing Gilgamesh standing on the ground, smiling with no injuries, shirtless, revealing the upper part of his body.
Tiamat would have to admit that Gilgamesh was the most handsome man in the supernatural world she had ever seen.
Gilgamesh knew Tiamat would be strong, and that was truly amazing.
Tiamat is one of the Five Great Dragon Kings, Dragons capable of killing Ultimate-class Demons, but Tiamat had enough power to rival Maou-class beings and, when angered, could even make Ddraig, a Celestial Dragon capable of killing Gods, scared.
Gilgamesh looked at this display of power, impressed.
Maybe he could let loose in this fight for a change.
Looking at his right arm, he saw a silver bracelet with a gem in the center, and in that gem resided a djinn.
Currently, Gilgamesh had three of his djinns with him, but he could only use two of them because if he used the third, only death would await Tiamat.
Raising his right arm, he placed it in front of his face as a magical circle glowed over it.
"My servant of rule and submission, I command you, inhabit my body and transform it into the body of a great and powerful sorcerer," Gilgamesh said, reciting the command to the Djinn.
At that moment, a tornado appeared and enveloped Gilgamesh's body.
When the tornado dissipated, Gilgamesh's new appearance was revealed. He took on the appearance of a bird, with dark feathers covering various parts of his body. His hair grew longer and was like a feather at the ends. He was adorned with a golden necklace and gained a third eye on his forehead. He could control the wind (in the form of tornadoes) with the palms of his hands.
"Masou: Focalor."
This was the Djinn Focalor, the djinn of rule and submission, which allowed its user to manipulate the wind.
Gilgamesh leaped and positioned himself in front of Tiamat in the air.
Tiamat looked at this in surprise, as this transformation significantly increased Gilgamesh's power, and she was very curious about the origin of this power.
Not wanting to understand much, she quickly inflated her lungs and spewed a massive amount of flames that filled the entire sky as they headed toward Gilgamesh.
Gilgamesh quickly raised his hands and summoned two tornadoes that headed toward the flames and collided with them.
Naturally, the wind should increase the flames and their power, but what happened was completely unexpected.
Gilgamesh's tornadoes quickly suppressed the flames and made them disappear as they nullified them.
Gilgamesh had manipulated the winds to create a vacuum dome against the flames, wearing them down.
Quickly, Gilgamesh created two tornadoes in his hands and propelled himself toward Tiamat, who did the same against him.
The impacts were massive, shaking the skies and creating shockwaves that spread throughout the forest, startling all the animals and beings around.
Tiamat was running out of options. Naturally, she should have the advantage due to her brute strength and size as a dragon, but that wasn't happening.
Gilgamesh had managed to nullify any blow she dealt with his strength and wind magic thanks to Focalor. This djinn was particularly good at nullifying his enemies' powers due to the various ways he could manipulate the wind.
Tiamat expanded her draconic aura before concentrating it into a single point and firing it as a large condensed aura projectile. Gilgamesh quickly brought his hands together, formed a concentrated air projectile, and launched it against Tiamat's.
Both collided, generating massive shockwaves that spread throughout the forest.
Gilgamesh looked at Tiamat with a smile.
"Is that all you've got? Because I've killed flies that gave me more trouble than you," Gilgamesh said to the already irritated Dragoness.
Tiamat flew higher into the sky before fully extending her wings, letting out a deafening roar. The wind grew stronger as her aura began to expand, while a dark blue, almost purple lightning began to dance around her body, growing more chaotic by the second. Gilgamesh looked at Tiamat with an impressed expression on his face.
"That's really impressive," Gilgamesh said aloud.
He really wouldn't come out unscathed against this. Although he was immune to lightning, he wasn't immune to shockwaves.
"I'll show you what happens to those who anger the Dragon of Chaos and Karma!" Tiamat declared as she unleashed a massive arc of powerful lightning from her mouth, striking Gilgamesh at blinding speeds.
Gilgamesh quickly raised his hands, creating two tornadoes. A layer of highly compacted and compressed wind formed around his arms.
"Foraz Zora," Gilgamesh said as he summoned his technique and launched it against Tiamat's.
A massive explosion sent dust and debris flying everywhere as Tiamat landed on the ground with a satisfied expression on her face.
"That was to show you what happens to someone who angers me," Tiamat said, satisfied but with slight annoyance.
"That wasn't so bad. If I hadn't defended myself in time, you would've gotten me," Gilgamesh's voice came from the smoking crater as Tiamat's eyes widened in surprise and a bit of joy. Gilgamesh leaped from the smoking crater and stopped in the air above Tiamat, smiling.
"How are you still alive?" Tiamat asked.
Gilgamesh smiled.
"It was a wonderful warm-up, Tiamat. Now it's time to get serious, don't you agree?" Gilgamesh said with a smile as Tiamat's eyes widened in horror at what she had just heard.
"You call that a warm-up!? What kind of monster are you!?" Tiamat shouted, obviously not believing what she had just heard.
Gilgamesh smiled as he raised both arms, causing two massive tornadoes to appear, growing and rising to the skies, enveloping his hands. He brought them together above his head, merging the tornadoes, making Tiamat's eyes widen as she saw an attack five times stronger than the previous one.
Tiamat quickly prepared to unleash her flames, but it was too late.
"Foraz Zora," Gilgamesh shouted as he launched the two combined tornadoes at Tiamat, crashing down on her like a massive weight, crushing her with the pressure of the tornadoes.
Gilgamesh landed beside Tiamat's crater, and when the dust settled, he saw Tiamat crushed on the ground with several cuts, wounds, and bruised scales.
"So?" Gilgamesh asked, crossing his arms.
"I… give up… I'll become your familiar," Tiamat said weakly.
Gilgamesh smiled before undoing his transformation and going to heal Tiamat.
With Rias.
The sound of footsteps could be heard approaching the group. Rias turned, ready to offer her help to Gilgamesh after the battle, only for her words to die in her throat. Standing in front of her, her peerage, and Satooji were a shirtless Gilgamesh and a beautiful woman. She had the appearance of a stunning woman with long, smooth light blue hair, dark blue eyes, and a cold aura radiating from her beauty. She possessed an extremely powerful draconic aura within her body. She also wore a navy blue skirt, and her entire body was drenched in a deep blue hue.
It was Tiamat in her human form.
"Tiamat-sama!" Satooji bowed to the strongest of the Five Dragon Kings.
"Ah, Satooji-san, it's a pleasure to see you again. I thought you'd be the familiar master by now?" Tiamat asked, tilting her head to the side as the man in front of her shook his head.
"No, but my final test is coming up. And I hope to pass," Satooji said proudly as Tiamat nodded, giving the man a small smile.
Both Akeno and Rias were staring, really staring, at Tiamat.
"I suggest you two stop staring at my familiar like that," Gilgamesh said, crossing his arms over his chest and displaying a fraction of his killing intent. Tiamat had to admit that Gilgamesh was a very handsome and wonderful man, even by supernatural standards.
"He's really a monster; is there a limit to his power?" Rias thought, terrified, trembling slightly.
Kiba didn't know whether to feel impressed or afraid of Gilgamesh at this moment. The fact that he was able to make Tiamat his familiar only showed how powerful he truly was.
"For him to take down a Dragon said to have Satan-class power… I'm speechless. I just hope he remains an ally and doesn't become an enemy," Yuuto shuddered at the thought of Gilgamesh as an enemy.
Gilgamesh nodded, opening a golden portal and pulling out a t-shirt, putting it on to the disappointment of Akeno and Tiamat, who were watching.
"So, where are my friends?" Gilgamesh asked the others.
"I'm here, Gilgamesh," a voice said from behind them.
Gilgamesh turned his gaze back and saw Arturia approaching with Regulus in her arms, and beside her was a massive three-meter-tall lion.
"So, that's your familiar, Arturia?" Gilgamesh asked.
"Exactly. This is Artus," Arturia said, nodding to the lion, who let out a roar that startled the demons.
"That's incredible! A Nemean Lion," the familiar master said, smiling with shining eyes.
Everyone turned a doubtful gaze toward him, and he coughed a bit before starting to explain.
"Nemean Lions are descendants of the Nemean Lion King who fought Hercules in Greek myth. They are extremely rare and powerful, capable of fighting and defeating High-class Demons. They also have extremely tough skin, though not on the level of their ancestor. They are also rare because they don't kneel to anyone and only choose the most honorable and just people to be their masters," Satooji explained to everyone.
Everyone nodded, while the demons were surprised that a familiar could fight and defeat High-class Demons...
Gilgamesh widened his eyes as he felt a surge of energy coming toward him, and in the same instant, something landed with extreme violence on the ground, raising a cloud of dust.
Everyone prepared to attack but stopped when they saw Valerie and Asia emerging from atop the creature.
"So, that's your familiar, Valerie?" Gilgamesh said, smiling.
Valerie smiled, puffing out her chest with pride.
"Exactly, this is my Noivern-chan," Valerie said proudly.
Gilgamesh widened his eyes as he recognized the creature.
It was a Pokémon.
What the hell was a Pokémon doing here?
He was snapped out of his thoughts by Satooji's voice.
"That's incredible!" the familiar master shouted with joy.
Seeing everyone's confused looks, he began to explain.
"Noivern is known for its violent temperament but becomes tame if approached with its favorite ripe fruit. From its ears, it can produce ultrasonic waves strong enough to shatter large rocks. It uses these waves to navigate freely in the dark. Noivern is also known for being cruel, relentlessly tormenting enemies that cannot see in the dark. It uses ultrasonic waves and its fangs to finish off enemies. Few can make it their familiar," Satooji explained to everyone, who nodded.
Everyone turned their gaze to Asia and saw her bringing a small blue-scaled dragon.
"Is that your familiar, Asia?" Gilgamesh asked her, and she nodded.
"Yes, this is Rassei," Asia said, smiling.
"A Sprite Dragon is very rare. They are high-level Dragons, though not as strong as a Dragon King, and they must be tamed as children, or they become uncontrollable as adults," Satooji explained.
"Normally, a Sprite Dragon doesn't commit to a Devil, but it seems that girl has a very pure heart. Something like this has never happened before," Tiamat said, surprised, and she was also surprised by the look Rassei gave Gilgamesh, one of pure admiration.
Gilgamesh placed his hand on the dragon's head and started petting it.
"Good boy, protect Asia, okay?"
"Gaaak
It made a cute sound and flapped its wings.
"Kid, that dragon isn't attacking you," Satooji said.
"Should it be?"
Gilgamesh asked back, and Satooji tilted his head.
"Male dragons hate males of other races. Unexpectedly, it seems this dragon likes you, or rather, it seems to obey you as if it's been enchanted."
"It seems you have the ability to get along with dragons and even tame them to a certain extent without realizing it. That's quite impressive, master," Tiamat said, surprised.
Gilgamesh nodded, as he knew of his affinity with dragons because Ddraig had told him.
Gilgamesh looked around and sighed when he didn't sense Mordred and Enkidu. Though Mordred was always late, Enkidu was always punctual.
Soon, another large explosion happened beside them as another presence emerged.
When the dust settled, it revealed a bipedal draconic being. It was primarily orange with a cream-colored underside from its chest to the tip of its tail. It had a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head. Two fangs were visible in its upper jaw when its mouth was closed. Two large wings with teal undersides sprouted from its back, and a horn-like appendage protruded from the third joint of each wing. A single wing finger was visible through the center of each wing membrane. Its arms were short and slender compared to its robust belly, and each limb had three white claws. It had stocky legs with cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet. The tip of its long, tapering tail burned with a considerable flame.
Gilgamesh widened his eyes upon seeing it.
It was a Charizard.
It was a damn Charizard.
From the back of the Charizard emerged Mordred, who had a big smile.
"Is that your familiar, Mordred?" Gilgamesh asked her.
Mordred gave a big smile.
"Yes, this is my Charizard," Mordred said proudly, and the dragon roared beside her, spewing flames in all directions. Some of the flames went toward Mordred, who smiled before jumping on the Charizard, and they started fighting.
"They're very compatible," Gilgamesh said, watching the two fight and laugh, or at least that's what the Charizard seemed to be doing.
"That's quite surprising," Tiamat said, making everyone turn their gaze to her.
"Charizards are high-level Dragons; they usually live in the Dragon Mountain and rarely communicate with other beings outside of there. They are also very proud and belligerent, so it's very rare for one of them to accept someone as their master," Tiamat explained, and everyone understood.
Gilgamesh turned his gaze around to look for Enkidu.
"Where's Enkidu?" Gilgamesh asked.
"I'm here, Gil," a voice said from behind them.
As they turned, they saw Enkidu riding atop a nearly four-meter-tall wolf with bluish-gray fur and a divine aura.
This wolf was strangely familiar to Gilgamesh.
"Is that your familiar, Enkidu?" Gilgamesh asked him.
"Yes. This is Fenrir," Enkidu said to them.
Gilgamesh widened his eyes at the wolf's name.
Fenrir is the first son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, and the elder brother of the Dragon King, Midgardsormr (the Serpent of Midgard). Fenrir is considered one of the most dangerous beasts created by Loki, with power rivaling the Two Heavenly Dragons, and is nicknamed the God-Devouring Wolf.
He was among the 10 strongest beings in the world, his power comparable to or less than Typhon, the King of Monsters from Greek myth.
Enkidu had heard about him when he was in Asgard, and Thor had told him about the wolf.
Though from what he knew, Fenrir was a being without consciousness.
In truth, he had self-awareness and human-like intelligence, though his way of thinking was different from a normal human's. Moreover, he had a stronger sense of pride, with very high standards and low tolerance for those who were incompetent.
Another thing Enkidu knew about Fenrir was that he was very loyal to his father, Loki.
"I'm surprised you're here. From what I heard, you're very loyal to your father, Loki," Enkidu said to him.
The wolf seemed to huff.
"I may be loyal to my father, but our relationship is more like master and slave, and I fled after he started going mad and experimenting on me," Fenrir said, huffing.
"Experiments?" Enkidu asked, surprised.
"Yes, my father was going crazy with Ragnarok and tried to clone me to have more success in his plan. He even managed to clone me and create a weaker version of me, with the power of a Maou-class being," Fenrir explained.
"So you fled and came to the Forest of Familiars?" Enkidu asked curiously.
"I just fled to the farthest place possible, and I ended up here, though everyone runs when they see me," Fenrir said, with a hint of sadness in the last part.
Enkidu paused for a moment before speaking.
"So, what do you think about being my familiar?" Enkidu asked the wolf.
Though it would be incredible to have a wolf capable of killing a god as a familiar, the main point was something else.
When Fenrir spoke to him, Enkidu noticed a predominant feeling in him.
He felt something that many powerful beings felt.
Loneliness.
A feeling that many beings had, like Ddraig and Albion, and even the original Gilgamesh. Their overwhelming power made them seem invincible, which generated an equally overwhelming sense of loneliness and resentment.
"You want me as your familiar? Even knowing who I am?" Fenrir asked, surprised.
Fenrir couldn't help but be shocked by this.
Since he was born, he was feared by all those who should have been his family. In Asgard, his home, he was bound by the chains of Gleipnir because everyone was afraid of him.
Even his father didn't care about him, only his power.
"Yes, in my group, we're all monsters in our power. If you came with me, you'd have a home, a place to return to, and a family, and we could protect you from Loki," Enkidu said to the wolf.
The wolf looked at him for a while and then started laughing.
"Very well, you've won me over, but I'll only become your familiar if you defeat me," Fenrir said, standing and walking out of the cave.
Enkidu followed him outside the cave, and each stood facing the other, but at a distance.
Fenrir began to glow, and when the light faded, he was revealed as a ten-meter-tall wolf with a vast amount of divine aura surrounding his body.
Enkidu did the same, bathing his entire body in his divine power, acquiring a golden aura.
"I am Fenrir, first son of Loki and Angrboða, the God-Devouring Wolf. If you do not fear my fangs, attack me," Fenrir said with pride.
Regardless of his power, Fenrir was someone with a lot of honor and pride.
Enkidu decided to return the sentiment in kind.
"I am Enkidu, a creation made by the King of the Gods, Anu, and the Goddess of Creation, Aruru. If you do not fear my powers, attack me," Enkidu said in the same tone.
Maybe he was spending too much time with Gilgamesh.
Fenrir quickly prepared and lunged at Enkidu.
Enkidu quickly raised his hand, and suddenly the entire forest came to life.
Dozens of roots emerged from the ground, and several trees began to come alive and advance toward Fenrir to restrain him.
This was all due to one of Enkidu's abilities.
[Natural World Magic].
This magic grants its user the ability to use a form of magic that provides a deep and intimate connection with nature and its derivatives, such as fauna, flora, weather, elements, etc. It allows the casting of a wide variety of spells to make nature assist in various ways, whether in combat or outside of it. Some examples of this power's capabilities include contacting magical forces of nature (or nature spirits in some universes) and promoting nature's fertility through its spells.
All the roots quickly advanced against Fenrir to restrain him.
However, with agility worthy of a divine beast, Fenrir dodged each root launched at him, tearing them apart with his fangs and claws, and then charged at Enkidu with the intent to rip him in half.
He quickly charged at Enkidu, who extended his hand in a sword-like shape and created a blue energy blade, advancing against Fenrir.
When Fenrir's claws clashed with Enkidu's energy blade, a shockwave was sent out, destroying everything around them.
