Chapter 6 - Dungeon Crawl

At least it was worth the trouble to learn from Helm. I returned to the tower and entered once again noticing the beginning corridor was no longer a straight path. I thought aloud, "What the hell is going on here? It was a straight shot yesterday.".

Not expecting an answer I heard, "You must be new. The dungeons layout changes each day. It's the main reason none of the towers have been conquered yet.".

Turning around to see who was talking I was taking by surprise. Is that a fucking Gorilla? The man was around six feet tall, wider than a door frame and covered in thick black hair. I said, "Thanks for the info. It was nice to meet you.".

I hurried into the tower running into four goblins not even ten feet into the tower. Quickly unsheathing my sword I tried my new attack. Concentrating on the blade I transferred mana into it making the blade glow a dim red color. Swinging my sword as instructed it sent out a giant mana blade hitting all four goblins splitting them in half. It takes a ton of mana but it seems strong against copper goblins. Continuing deeper than last time I ran into a goblin camp. Observing I counted fifteen regular goblins and five shamans. Sneaking my way across using the little tents that were set up I pulled out the goblins dagger. Getting within a few feet of the first shaman I quickly grabbed and pulled it into one of the tents slitting its throat while holding its mouth keeping it from alerting the others.

I don't like sneaking around but I doubt I can block magic with a sword. Two of the shamans were sitting together by a weird ball sitting on the ground and the other two were walking into a dark corner of the room. Making my way to the dark corner I got close enough to see but I wish I hadn't. One of the shamans was letting the other punch him in the nuts repeatedly with a sadistic look on his face. What in the actual fuck? I've seen enough. I rushed forward stabbing the one getting punched through the eye. Quickly pulling back the dagger I plunged it down towards the second who barely got the chance to look up before the dagger sunk into its forehead. I'm starting to not want to fight the goblins and just ignore them but I need to kill a shit ton more for a requirement. Sneaking back to where the last two shamans were located I swiftly threw a spear through one of them. Instead of it just killing the one it blew a hole through both of them spraying blood and guts everywhere. Noticing the carnage all of the remaining goblins started to rush me. Looking for a tighter space to fight one by one I noticed a small hallway in the middle of the wall. Entering it I waited for the goblins to squeeze into a compact group before using my sword to unleash a mana blade. Killing all of them in one go I got a notification that I reached level six. My stats increased:

Name:Rowan Hearth Level:6

HP:52 MP:51

ST:47

Skills: Throw: Physical skill that requires five stamina to activate. Increases speed and power of thrown weapons.

Class: None

Title: None

I don't know if I'll be able to get used to this feeling. Turning around in the small hallway I noticed a staircase leading down and a shiver ran up my spine. I have stumbled upon a dungeon. Debating on whether to leave or explore I decided to descend the stairs. Reaching the bottom it leads into a straight path with no monsters. Following the path I ran into a giant decorative door. Opening it slowly I peeked into the room. There was a chest sitting in the middle of the room with a painting hanging on the wall behind it. The painting showed a woman whose beauty could not be described in the words of man. Her long red hair and gold eyes paired and a perfectly shaped face. She was wearing a slim fit red dress with gold trim which barely contained her breasts. I couldn't help but say aloud, "She's beautiful.".

As soon as the words left my mouth the chest opened by itself. Looking into the chest I found a ring sitting on a small pillow. It's description:

Ring of Promise Rank: Transcendent

-Must be worn on the left hand ring finger.

-[Redacted]

-[Redacted]

-[Redacted]

Huh? That's a weird requirement. I slid the ring onto my left ring finger. I felt a small sting before a notification popped up saying:

You are now engaged to [Redacted]. She has been generous enough to give your dumbass a skill.

Clairvoyance - uses mana to show the path to the boss room. Ten mana to activate and lasts for two minutes.

What the hell? I'm engaged. Who am I engaged to and why? Taking a closer look at the ring I noticed an engraving in a language I didn't know. Taking another look at the painting I noticed the woman had a matching ring on her finger. I'm guessing I'm now engaged to this beautiful woman. I'm not complaining but who is she? Exiting the dungeon I decided to head to the Climber's association before heading back to Amelia's. Entering the building I noticed Meryl still didn't have anyone approaching her. I ran up to the desk saying, "Good to see you again Meryl. I have some more stuff to sell.".

I think I surprised her. She yelped and said, "Y..Y…Yes it is good to see you as well. P..P…Please hand me your card.".

She swiped the card and gasped asking, "How did you level up this much in a few hours?".

I answered, "I took a risk fighting a camp of goblins.".

She shot out of her chair telling me to follow her. Before following her I hurriedly sold my items and trotted behind her. She led me into a small room and asked, "A..A…Are you okay? D..D…Do you need me to coddle you?".

Before I could answer she pulled me down to the floor placing my head in her lap. She's a lot stronger than she looks. She was rubbing my head with one hand resting on my chest. I asked, "Why am I getting a lap pillow right now?".

She answered, "Y..Y…You've worked hard, so this is your reward.".

I got a glimpse of her eyes. They were pitch black except for a dim red light in the center. I realized why no one went to her desk. Her class is berserker. The more her emotions rise the redder her eyes will get until she loses reason. I need to keep her emotions on the positive side. She said, "Y..Y…You know that you're the only person who has come to my desk since I started as a receptionist. I..I…I want you to be mine.".
