Lior sighed as he stared at the one who had just spoken. From their tone and their actions so far, it seemed as though they had never once believed him when he spoke of his identity.
But what do I expect? Even I can barely believe myself, he mumbled inwardly as he watched them with weary eyes.
He let out another long sigh before asking, "And where can I meet the prince, if that is truly the only option I have left?"
The lady at the desk raised her chin slightly and responded, "The prince's manor, of course. And since you claim it is the nineteenth prince you seek, you should already know where his manor is."
"Sure," Lior muttered, forcing the word out with a weak smile. He turned away from the sight of the registration administrator, not wishing to prolong the humiliation. His shoulders sagged as he walked out of the hall, his frame deflated with each step, until finally he reached the stables where his horse had been kept.
