His hand reached toward the small beast, fingers trembling slightly with awe, and he gently tried to rest his palm against it. But the fiery creature instantly darted away from his touch, as though unwilling to be handled so easily. Instead of being disheartened, Lior chuckled at the sight, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
"What animal are you then?" he asked curiously, tilting his head. "Can we even communicate through telepathy now?"
He wasn't sure if the tiny beast could actually hear or comprehend his words, but based on the countless fantasy books he had read in his former life, Lior strongly believed that a master and beast should be able to form a telepathic bond.
