Chapter 19 - Jealous

Chapter 19 Onyi's POV

I stood by the Alpha King's side, trying to maintain a neutral expression as he discussed the Temple of the Black Witches with Onyi. But inside, I seethed with jealousy and anger. The Alpha King had once asked me to be his lover, to be his partner in every sense of the word. In exchange, he would grant me Amanda's hand, and I would be free to be with the woman I truly loved.

But now, it seemed that the Alpha King's attention was focused solely on Onyi. He lavished him with attention, his eyes gleaming with excitement as he spoke of the temple and its secrets. I felt a pang of resentment, wondering why the Alpha King had suddenly lost interest in me.

As I watched, the Alpha King reached out and touched Onyi's arm, his fingers lingering on the younger man's skin. I felt a surge of anger, remembering the nights we had shared, the promises he had made to me.

The Alpha King had once been mine, or at least, I had thought he was. But now, it seemed that Onyi had captured his attention, and I was nothing more than a forgotten relic.

I tried to push aside my feelings, to focus on the task at hand. But it was hard to ignore the way the Alpha King looked at Onyi, the way he smiled at him. It was the same way he used to look at me, the same way he used to smile.

I felt like I was losing my grip on the Alpha King's affections, and I didn't know how to get it back. Onyi seemed oblivious to the Alpha King's intentions, but I knew better. I knew that the Alpha King was a man who got what he wanted, no matter the cost.

As the meeting drew to a close, the Alpha King leaned in close to Onyi, his voice low and husky. I felt a pang of jealousy, wondering what he was saying to the younger man. Was he making promises, whispering sweet nothings in his ear?

I knew that I had to act, to find a way to reclaim the Alpha King's attention. But for now, I was stuck on the sidelines, watching as Onyi basked in the Alpha King's favor.

The Alpha King turned to me, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Alexis, I think you have a role to play in this mission as well," he said, his voice dripping with condescension.

I nodded, trying to keep my anger in check. I would play along, for now. But I would not forget the way the Alpha King had treated me. I would not forget the way he had discarded me like a used rag.

As I looked at Onyi, I felt a spark of determination ignite within me. I would do whatever it took to get back in the Alpha King's favor, even if it meant working with Onyi. But I would not be forgotten. I would not be ignored. I'll show the true fire.
