(City of Hamburg)
As I took in the sight of the city of Hamburg, my shock was palpable. It was nothing like what I had expected. Instead of the welcoming streets and bustling markets I had envisioned, there was an imposing enforcement wall, encased in hardened magic, surrounding the city. Passersby showed their permits to gain entry, and I realized that finding a way in would be no easy feat.
My eyes scanned the crowd, searching for any opportunity to slip past the guards. That's when I spotted a person riding a horse-drawn carriage, headed towards the city gates. A bold idea formed in my mind, one that I knew was risky but seemed like my only chance.
"Come on, Elijah," I whispered to my brother, gesturing for him to climb onto my back. "We're going to try something." I asked Elijah to sit on my back and carry him into the courier. With Elijah securely on my back, I approached the carriage, moving with stealth and determination. As it slowed to a stop at the gates, I seized my moment, sneaking into the back of the carriage when the driver's attention was elsewhere. My heart raced with adrenaline as I prayed silently that my plan would succeed.
Inside the carriage, Elijah voiced his disapproval of my actions, "Brother, this is wrong. You should ask him first." reminding me of the importance of honesty. But I reassured him with a mischievous grin, promising to make amends later. "chuckles. Don't worry. I will pay him later, so it will be fair, okay?"
Elijah looked unsatisfied. But I don't have a choice to avoid the guard.
As soon as I got to the city, I put a silver coin that I got from Lady Ellis in the courier that had given us a ride as a gratitude. The money that I got was given by her when she told me that I will need it to travel to the kingdom. I guess she was right. It is sad that I couldn't repay her kindness. She also did teach me about healing magic to me.I roughly got about a bag of gold and silver coins in it. There is a currency here, but it's much simpler if I only use the term gold, silver and copper for a better understanding.
Stepping out into the streets of Hamburg, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The people here looked different, their eyes wary and their movements cautious. I kept my gaze lowered, avoiding their scrutiny as we navigated through the crowded streets.
I walk around the big city of Hamburg. The people look different with their appearance.
When strolling around, I felt something wasn't right. I think they might report us to the guard if they found out. My brother was interested in the food and our stomach was rumbling. I don't have a choice and I force him to move on to leave it.
Elijah's stomach growled with hunger, but I knew we couldn't linger. I urged him to keep moving, sensing a growing sense of urgency.
"We should get out of here faster," I whispered to him, my instincts on high alert.
"Brother, I'm hungry. Buy me food." Elijah asked while pulling my hand. "I'm sorry Eli. I will give you meat if we get out of here first." I comfort him with a promise.
"No, I don't want meat. I want that." He pointed at the kid that was eating a candy. I know it is better to get out of here as soon as possible, but Elijah's hunger persisted, and he pleaded with me to buy him food. As I don't want to attract any more attention, it is better for me to buy something he wants to keep him quiet.
"Alright, calm down. I will buy it for you if you stay here quietly." Reluctantly, I agreed, promising to fulfill his request if he stayed quiet. "Really?" he asked in joy. "Promise me you won't go anywhere." I asked him to stay put while I was away. "Hm! I promise." he bluntly said.
I take a big step and act normal so the citizens do not feel suspicious.
I walked to the store and turned around to look at Elijah that was waiting for me obediently at the back alley.
