A huge explosion once again rattled the entire forest, those standing much further away from it were shattered to their core as a fireball of epic proportions rose from where the explosion took place.
Kakashi, or to be precise, the clone which Kakashi sent after Sukuna, almost felt that he would dispel just out of the sheer heat radiating from the place.
By the time he really arrived at the place of the crime, the deed was already done. Nothing was left intact, the earth was charred, trees vanished up in the smoke, and even the very roots looked uprooted.
It was devastation, the kind Kakashi was quite familiar with, scenes like this were often seen in the Third Great Shinobi War.
This was the result of a Biju-Dama. The strongest attack a Biju is capable of. This kind of attack from a Tailed Beast could take out entire mountains.
His eyes frantically looked for any life sign. He doubted anyone could survive something like this, and running away from an explosion of this magnitude was entirely impossible.
Impossible until you're Tobirama Senju or Minato Namikaze. And recently, as he came to know, another name had been added to that list. The very person he was looking for.
Kakashi just hoped that the pink-haired boy used Hiraishin in time to get out.
What rattled him further was the lack of the Tailed Beast too.
'Did the Tailed Beast blast itself with Sukuna or what. Sure that won't be possible right?'
If not, then where the hell was the Three Tails?
"Damn that attack almost killed me." Clonekashi's head jerked up as soon as he registered the words came from behind him.
There stood the boy he was so worried about, his clothes burned, sunglasses gone, for the first time revealing those red pupils which immediately reminded Clonekashi of the boy who once gave him his eyes, but they weren't Sharingan.
If anything, those eyes on that boy were quite similar to a colleague of his. (Kurenai)
"Sukuna." Clonekashi rushed up to him. The boy looked worse to wear, his clothes almost gone, blood spilling from all parts of his body, and his ragged breath was telling what kind of torture he had gone through.
His entire front was burned off, skin was charred and looking like a very nasty case of sunburn and more.
However, what made Clonekashi pause was the boy's hands.
They were gone, both hands were missing, ripped apart by the explosion while rivers of blood spilled from where the missing limbs were supposed to be.
"What happened here?" Clonekashi asked, his eyes still looking for any hidden Jinchuriki ambush planned when they dropped their guard. But he quickly rushed to Sukuna to help him out, whatever he was capable of at this point.
However, to his surprise, white energy spurted out of Sukuna's body, steam gushing out, and to Clonekashi's completely awe-filled eyes, the boy's body started to fix itself rapidly.
First the charred skin fell off, and just after, new skin took its place. All the wounds were healed at a visible rate.
But what took Clonekashi's breath away was the boy's hands. They grew anew. Slower than the recovery of the skin and other parts of his body, but still, complete limb recovery was unheard of. At least he knew even Tsunade Senju wasn't capable of it by the time she left.
But again, Kakashi was no medical-nin. His intel was spotty at best.
Slowly but surely, bones spurted out of his shoulders, then flesh wrapped itself around the bones. Each muscle knew where its place was. From veins to blood, it all happened in front of Clonekashi's eyes.
And before he knew it, the boy's hands were back, good as new like nothing ever happened.
"That bastard threw another one of those big black balls at me again. I was ready this time, caught it before it exploded, teleported it right to his face and got out of there." Sukuna grunted, not as much telling what happened as complaining by his tone.
But he paused, looking at his condition, and added,
"Well I mostly got away, wasn't fast enough to save my clothes from the explosion." He grumbled even more as he ruffled his hair, a sign of him pulling back his binding vow and deactivating his King's reserves.
'What about his hands, does his hands rank second to his clones?' Clonekashi really wished to ask.
Clonekashi for a second looked amazed at how nonchalant the boy looked at the feat he accomplished. Did he really think fighting a Jinchuriki was a small thing?
But Kakashi at his core was never a nagging teacher. Clonekashi didn't bother saying anything, it was too much work anyway. If he had that much patience then he would have taken the hat with Fire written on it in big bold letters a long time ago.
He was just happy that capable juniors were there in the Leaf after him. He also made a mental note to remind Hiruzen what kind of medical jutsu Sukuna showed here alongside his feat of fighting against a Jinchuriki.
As for asking Sukuna about the absurd recovery speed, he didn't. Shinobi have their secrets, it's rude to ask and even ruder to expect an answer.
Sukuna didn't know what Clonekashi was thinking, he internally was rather kicking himself.
That cleave took longer to activate than he wanted it to. Can't help it, while still a part of his main technique, he used Dismantle much more than Cleave. He had to train it more.
"What happened to Yagura?" Clonekashi asked, though by the description, his hopes weren't high.
He didn't even know what to hope exactly. His temporary student, who was turning out to be a bigger problem child than he himself at that age, was alive. That was good, but now they might have a very dead Jinchuriki in their hands, and a potential war if things were not handled correctly.
'How come things ended up so messy?' Clonekashi wondered whether his original self would survive the memory backlash once he dispelled.
Sukuna honestly had no idea. That blast should have killed the turtle, but again that was a damn Biju. Does his own Nuke kill itself ?
At least Sukuna didn't sense any of Three Tails negative energy around. Was he dead ?
"So sensei, what's going with you guys there. You took care of Zabuza?"
"Yeah, something like that." Clonekashi nodded.
Back with real Kakashi, Zabuza and the now slightly stronger ducklings… things were tense.
Zabuza didn't know what was taking Yagura so long, going all out to even launch Biju-Dama at a 12-year-old, but his own condition wasn't looking that great.
All three of his students were laying defeated, he couldn't protect them and at the same time fight off Kakashi.
If Yagura was there, then he could go all out, but now he had no other option. The next explosion gave him a chance to escape when Kakashi's attention was away from him, and so he took it.
He planned to take them away with a clone while still fighting Kakashi until the very last. After all, real shinobi don't have a choice over whether they could complete missions or not.
It's either completing the mission or death. At least the Bloody Mist had taught him that much.
However, just as he was about to break for it, another voice cleared out around the horizon.
"What taking you so long Zabuza. Why haven't you killed those pest yet."
An old man with a shady-looking persona wearing a suit with a walking stick and glasses came out while surrounded by a dozen or so men which even Naruto could point out were common thugs.
"Another enemy?" Sasuke tensed up. His mind was already too occupied with that explosion and the revelation that Sukuna was fighting a Tailed Beast alone.
Sakura and Karin conveniently didn't acknowledge his existence, still worried sick about Sukuna. While Naruto squinted his eye, his protagonist instinct telling him that this was the man he had to kick to save the day.
"Gato." Zabuza gritted his teeth.
Zabuza had to say that the man paid well, almost too well, but he was a complete utter prick. If not for his money, Zabuza wouldn't mind gutting the greedy bastard himself.
But now it became even more complicated, he couldn't very well just run away while his client was here.
Cursing under his breath, the desperate escape plan was scrapped.
"Why you're here, Gato?" Zabuza asked with almost a grunt laced with anger.
"What you mean why I'm here. I have paid Hidden Mist enough to come see whether my money was spent in a worthwhile place.
Apparently not seeing the current state.
I knew wasting money on you Hidden Mist was a complete waste. Should have just killed you back then." Gato spouted.
If Sukuna was here, he would have said that the man had zero survival instincts.
"Your mission will be completed, you don't have to worry about that." Zabuza gritted his teeth and held back his answer, his pride clashing with his orders.
Mist needed Gato's money.
And that's when suddenly Kakashi's eyes lit with recognition which immediately turned into contemplation.
It was like he was constipated, his face contracted with utter pain.
He had just gotten the memories of Clonekashi and now he didn't know how to explain this to the Third.
A flash took place and the man himself was there in one piece.
Battered and half naked, but still kicking, Sukuna arrived with much less flare than the one he left with.
"SUKUNA….!"

A/N : What do you think ?
Isn't Clonekashi is the best damn teacher out there ?
I made it like Biju Dama could take out Isobu, but there is a possibilty that it wouldn't. I'm open for argument over this.
Last please tell me where I can improve, your help is much appreciated.
