Chapter 60 - CHAPTER 60: KNEEL FOR MY HEART

📍Scene: Private Rooftop Suite — Night

It's raining lightly.

The rooftop is filled with warm string lights, glowing lanterns, and candles flickering in the wind. A table sits untouched. A soft blanket spread on the lounge chair. A slow song plays in the background.

Mek walks in, confused.

No one is around. The elevator dings shut behind him.

Then—Pete steps out from the shadows.

He's in a black shirt, no buttons done. Hair messy. Eyes red.

He looks like he hasn't slept.

> "You came," Pete breathes out, as if he was holding it in forever.

Mek crosses his arms, guarded.

> "Why am I here, Pete?"

Pete walks forward slowly. Hands shaking.

And then?

He falls to his knees.

> "Because I can't live without you."

Mek freezes.

> "You don't have to forgive me. But you have to know. I was scared. Not of Rose. Not of the world. But of being weak in front of you."

> "You think kneeling makes you weak?" Mek whispers.

> "No," Pete chokes out. "Not telling you I love you did."

His voice cracks.

Tears start rolling.

> "I love you, Mek. I love you more than the life they planned for me. I love you more than pride, more than money, more than this stupid family war. I love you so hard it hurts."

Mek's eyes fill with tears. His breath stutters.

Pete bows his head.

Whispers:

> "I'm sorry… for hurting you… for letting her in… for not choosing you louder."

Mek drops to his knees too.

> "I'm sorry too," he says, crying. "I was afraid I'd never be enough. That you'd go back to her. That maybe… you didn't love me as much as I loved you."

They hold each other, forehead to forehead, crying in the rain.

And then—they kiss. Deep. Desperate. Healing.

📍Later That Night

Soft lights. Wet clothes off. Only skin, whispers, and shared breaths.

Pete carries Mek to the warm bathtub—lit candles surrounding them.

> Mek wraps his arms around Pete. "Don't ever kneel for anyone else."

> Pete kisses his shoulder. "I'll kneel only for the man I'd give my whole damn world to."

They make love in the tub, slow and emotional. No more anger. No more doubt. Just love, real and raw.
