Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Broken Locks and Broken Trust

[LUCAS – POV]

The first thing I noticed when I got to my locker was that it was slightly open.

That was weird. I never leave it unlocked.

I pulled it open fully—and my blood ran cold.

Inside was a photo. Me. Shirtless. From last year's party. A photo that should've never seen the light of day again. And on the back, in messy handwriting: "Your secret's out. Let's see how she feels now."

I looked around. No one seemed suspicious.

But I knew someone was watching.

Someone wanted to ruin this—me and Jasmine. Someone who knew exactly what I was hiding.

Ayo.

He was playing dirty now.

And I needed to tell Jasmine before he could.

[JASMINE – POV]

I knew something was off the second Lucas walked into class.

His jaw was tight. His hands clenched. But when our eyes met, he softened for just a second.

I passed him a note.

"You okay?"

He scribbled something quickly and slid it back.

"We need to talk. Alone. It's serious."

The bell rang. I packed up fast and followed him down the hall, heart pounding.

We ducked into the old music room, abandoned and echoing with silence.

Lucas turned to me, his voice low. "Someone's trying to destroy what we have."

My chest tightened. "Who?"

He didn't answer immediately. Just pulled the photo out of his pocket.

And I saw it.

The moment from his past he'd never talked about. The one that might just tear us apart.
