Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Calculated Risk.

FaeLina was still panicking. She flew back and forth in front of me, looking like a little pink firefly.

"They're going to send the rule-keepers, Mochi! I just know it!" she cried. "Grumpy people in grey robes with big books of rules! They'll come and measure everything and say we're not scary enough! They'll shut us down!"

She worries too much, I thought. I was just looking at my points.

[Dungeon Points (DP): 21]

It was not a lot of points. I had spent most of them on the Tea Nook. I needed more visitors to come to my dungeon. I had to wait.

My Tea Nook was quiet and calm. The slime I made to be the waiter, who I called Sloosh, was cleaning the counter with its slimy hand. It seemed happy.

For a long time, nothing happened.

Then, the dungeon alarm went off. It was louder this time.

[ALERT: A group of people (3) is at the door.]

FaeLina stopped flying. "A group! Oh no, this is bad! A group will be smarter! They won't fall for a fluffy moss patch!"

Three people walked into my dungeon.

The leader was a tall, strong woman with a big axe on her back. She looked very serious.

A skinny man walked behind her. He looked nervous and kept checking all the dark corners.

The last one was an elf with pointy ears. He looked very, very tired, with dark circles under his eyes.

The strong woman, Gilda, spoke first. "Pip, be careful. What Kevin told us was… weird. I don't trust it."

The nervous man, Pip, whispered back, "Weird? He said he was beaten by 'too much comfort.' That's not real, Gilda. It has to be a trap."

The tired elf, Zazu, just sighed. "I wouldn't mind being beaten by comfort right now."

Then they all saw the fluffy green moss patch in the middle of the room.

Pip pointed a shaky finger. "Look out! That glow isn't normal. It could be a monster that looks like a rug."

Gilda nodded. "Don't touch it."

But Zazu just stared at it like it was the most wonderful thing in the world. "It does look really soft," he said.

Before they could argue, a nice smell of tea floated over from the little shop I had built. All three of them turned to look.

They saw the Tea Nook and Sloosh the slime waiter, who gave them a friendly jiggle.

Gilda grabbed her axe. "What is that? A slime monster?"

"A shop?" Pip squeaked. "In a dungeon?"

Zazu's tired face lit up like a Christmas light. He looked like he had found heaven.

"I don't care if it's poison," he said, and walked right to the counter. "One cup of 'A Moment of Peace,' please."

Zazu took a long drink of the tea. He relaxed all over. He let out a long, happy sigh.

When Gilda and Pip saw that their friend was okay, they walked over and ordered tea too.

Soon, all three heroes were just standing in my dungeon, drinking hot tea.

Zazu finished his cup and looked at the moss patch again. "You know what would be great with this tea?" he said.

He walked over, lay down on the fluffy moss, and fell fast asleep.

Pip watched Zazu, then looked at his own empty cup. He shrugged. "Okay, why not?" He went and curled up on the moss and fell asleep too.

Only Gilda was left. The tough warrior tried to stay awake. But the tea made her feel warm and sleepy.

With a deep sigh, she gave up. She sat down against the cave wall and closed her eyes. Soon, she was snoozing.

My points were going up very fast.

FaeLina was just floating in the air, not saying a word. She looked very, very confused.

Everything was going great.

Then, a new alarm went off. It was a red, angry-sounding alarm.

[WARNING: Another dungeon nearby, 'The Blood Pit,' has noticed you.]

[They think your dungeon is weird and weak.]

[They have sent a scout to check on you. He will be here soon.]

FaeLina read the warning, and all the color left her face.

"An enemy," she whispered, looking very scared. "Mochi, a real monster is coming to our dungeon."
