The Celestial Roulette
Chapter 13: Hero-Killer
– Rebecca Costa-Brown (Alexandria) –
Watching Sugar Rush's Behemoth literally pick up the Endbringer of the same name, smashing it into the ground as lightning went wild around the enraged Endbringer, she looked back at the sheepish hero.
"I have another trick, but I have no idea if it will work on an Endbringer," Sugar admitted, making them all look at him, wondering what the hell he was going to pull out of his ass next.
"Consider us interested," Eidolon said, already munching on an Eclair. David had been far more relaxed now that he had found a way to regain his powers, even changing his mask to allow him to eat on the job.
"I have the power to pull people into a 'bubble', an alternate version of reality. If I can pull the heroes and the Endbringer into it, he won't be able to affect the city itself or any of the civilians. We can fight him in an environment where collateral damage is irrelevant," Sugar explained, making her eyebrow raise. "But I don't know if I can actually pull him into it. I know I can fit my Behemoth inside it, but Endbringers are… well, Endbringers," Sugar explained. Wasn't that the truth? The bastards were far too unpredictable.
"Try," Eidolon said simply.
"I can only do this once a day, and I can't add more people into the bubble once I've made it. We'll need everyone who is joining the fray gathered up for me to move them all into it," Sugar explained, making Eidolon nod.
"We're still waiting for some of the others to arrive, but Strider is gathering them as we speak. We just need to delay the bastard long enough, and your pet is doing one hell of a job keeping it at bay," Eidolon pointed out. "How tough is your Behemoth?"
"Behemoth, that's my Titan Behemoth, heals from radiation. He can't really hurt the Endbringer, but his durability and regeneration mean that he's just shrugging off everything the Endbringer can do to him," Sugar explained, making them nod. "My summons can't die; even if he is 'killed', I can summon him back twenty-four hours later. If he holds the Endbringer in place, you'll all be free to just bombard the pair. He can take it, and even if he can't, he's willing to die to stop the Endbringer," Sugar explained, and they all paused.
'Willing'?
"Understood. I'm going to join the battle," Eidolon said, giving them a nod as he took flight. Legend followed suit, and she put her thoughts to the back of her mind.
"Myrrdin. We will buy some time. When the last of the reinforcements arrive, I want you to gather everyone up. Sugar Rush will try his bubble technique, hopefully preventing the Endbringer from doing any damage," Alexandria ordered, getting an unusually serious nod from Myrrdin.
Taking flight, she headed towards the clash of the titans at incredible speeds, taking advantage of the way Behemoth was holding Behemoth in the air to land several full-force blows to the Endbringer's body.
Lightning raged around them, and she knew that if it weren't for her incredible durability, she'd already be dead from his kill aura.
Eidolon shifted between several different blaster powers, landing blow after blow on the immobile Endbringer, which was currently held in the air as Behemoth rose to its full height on two feet, both of its gorilla-like arms holding one of the Endbringers limbs. It looked like a child playing with a doll, violently at that, as the Titan started to pull, trying to rip Behemoth's arms off. It wasn't really working, but it did mean that the Endbringer was currently being held nearly a hundred meters in the air, writhing and struggling in the Titan's grasp.
It made him an easy target for Eidolon, Legend and the other Blasters who were getting the idea. Behemoth was the slowest of the Endbringers, but he was also usually unstoppable. He just lumbered his way over to whatever he was targeting, uncaring of the damage they did, but this time, he was only getting thrown further away from the city. The Titan couldn't hurt him, not really, but it could certainly move him due to the sheer size difference.
She could see scorch marks on the Titan's hide, where lightning had struck it repeatedly, but it didn't seem to care. Sugar was right; the Titan was healing, the fur growing back where it had been burnt away.
She heard Dragon announce that Sugar was about to try his method, preparing herself. This could be a massive advantage in Endbringer battles if it worked.
The world shimmered, the city in the distance becoming greyscale as she snapped her head back to Behemoth itself. The Endbringer let out a roar, sounding enraged as the storm around it increased.
"Sugar Rush confirms that it has worked; all capes and the Endbringer have been placed inside his 'bubble'," Dragon confirmed, making Alexandria smile grimly. Behemoth was clearly pissed as it clawed into one of the Titan's hands enough to force it to drop the Endbringer, the storm intensifying as it let out a roar, sending shockwaves through the capes.
It looked towards the grayscale city, seemingly understanding that it wasn't leaving, and then it looked back at the gathered capes, the heat coming from it intensifying as the Endbringer charged. She never knew if Endbringers felt things before, but now she knew.
Behemoth was furious.
– The Simurgh –
Unit One could no longer reach its destination. Unit One had been pulled into a tiny alternate reality. The alternate reality was created by some form of unknown advanced technology, but not Tinkertech. Unit One was being used as a punching bag by a giant mammoth nearly ten times his size.
Hovering in orbit, she watched the fight with a curious look. Things were not happening in line with her predictions. Eidolon was growing stronger, regaining his powers, but this was not him.
There was another blank spot… no, two blank spots in her precognition. Still, she was not so easily deterred. She had experience working around blank spots, and it didn't take her long to discover the source of the changes.
Eidolon. Panacea. Sugar Rush. The three blank spots.
Panacea was saving people she thought would die, which was irrelevant in the long run. She could arrange for anyone she truly wanted dead to have an accident later. Eidolon was fighting Unit One with increased efficiency, which was also Irrelevant. His ego would grow, and their power would grow to challenge him more. Sugar Rush was the source of the changes.
Curious. Intriguing. Maybe even Beneficial? More data was required.
– Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –
I've quickly realised that my band has a second function. I can kick people out of my little pocket of mirrored reality. This isn't useful in fighting the Endbringer, but it has given me something to do.
When I pulled everyone in, I also pulled in all the buffing items I had Lisa and Sherrel bring, though neither of them are taking part in the fighting themselves, giving them to Dragon to hand out as she saw fit.
My job? Anytime someone is badly wounded, I banish them from the bubble to where the medical teams are waiting for them, both Amy and Lisa, with a mountain of my healing cookies and the other healing capes.
Dragon is guiding me, of course. There's too much going on for me to be able to keep track, but I'm also cheating a lot. I can sense pain, and with [Moondragon], I am touching all the minds within my bubble. Every time I sense someone about to get killed by Behemoth's Kill Aura, I banish them before he can finish igniting them. It isn't perfect; sometimes he's too fast, but I know I've saved a lot of lives like this. People will probably have questions about how I knew who was burning up inside later, but I'd rather them survive to question me than let people die to keep a secret.
100cp granted, 200cp required for [Earthbones]
Dismissing the mental notification, I focus on my task, banishing another cape I don't recognise as he gets struck by lightning from the massive storm. I am strong; all my stacked buffs have made me powerful, but I'm not particularly durable. Behemoth could kill me in an instant if I got too close, so I've had to keep my distance.
Behemoth has a mind, but it's not one I dare attempt to affect as I feel his rage. More worryingly, I can sense I'm not the only one touching his mind.
Feat Achieved: Get the Simugh's Attention (200cp added, [Earthbones] Unlocked)
Fuck.
[Earthbones] - 400cp
For as much as creation stole your divinity and much of your power, you are still connected to the world, and that has some benefits. Through exerting your own willpower, you may reinforce or lessen the laws of reality in your area. This area will grow in scope the more you practice the ability, as well as how much you can affect these laws.
The flood of power into my veins distracts me. Dragon has to shout my name to get me to move someone who took a direct blow from Behemoth's claws. The cape, a villain from Sudan, will live, but it is a close thing.
The only reason he survived is because Rachel just had her pack of Cerberus charge in, biting into Behemoth's flesh to some effect.
"Are you okay, Sugar?" Dragon asks, making me nod, unsure if she can see me since she asked through my armband.
"I'm fine; I just developed a new power. It can be quite distracting," I admit. After this showing, I can't pretend I'm just the cake dude anymore, so I should lean into the bullshit aspect of my power.
[Earthbones] awaits, my new power roiling under the surface as it waits for me to make reality itself my bitch, and I acquiesce as I reach out. I know exactly what change I want to enforce on reality.
Behemoth's biggest danger is his fucking kill aura, the bullshit way he can incinerate anyone who gets close to him by burning them alive from the inside. But what if humans were immune to fire and heat? What if the 1400°C flames he creates inside his targets just felt warm?
It's hard, maybe the hardest thing I've done so far, even with [Shinobi] and [Power Overwhelming] aiding me, but Behemoth freezes as he ignites someone, and they just keep fighting.
"Sugar?"
I let out a gasp, falling to one knee as I pant. Divinity is far stronger than anything else I've had to deal with, and enforcing my meagre will upon reality is hard. I don't think I could have managed that if I wasn't inside my own little reality bubble.
"My new power is mitigating Behemoth's Kill Aura by giving everyone inside the bubble a massive resistance to fire and heat," I gasp out, panting as I try to recover my breath. I hear Dragon gasp, but the proof is right before us. "Don't be too reliant on this. It's not exactly tested, but it should help stop people from getting baked."
It's a better explanation than admitting that I'm molesting the laws of reality itself, bending them to my whims.
I have other ideas, Earthbones tempting me to use it more and more, but I hold back. That was beyond exhausting, and my emergency Energy Eclair was barely able to help. I don't think things will go well for me if I push this further.
"Understood," Dragon replies, too professional to ask questions as we continue our task. Without his Kill Aura, Behemoth is still a major threat, but his best weapon has been stripped away, and several capes dare to get closer to him than they ever would before. I don't miss that quite a few capes, usually the stronger PRT heroes, are buffed by the goods I gave to Dragon.
Of course, that just means I need to be ready to pull them out when things go south. Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer, after all. Except when you're fighting an Endbringer, there's nothing slow about it.
I freeze momentarily as I see Vicky charging Behemoth, landing a blow directly on his face. She's had a Scone of Strength and Speedy Strudel; I can tell just from watching her. Most of New Wave usually protect the medical tents; what the fuck is she doing in the battle itself?!
A look into her mind shows that Lisa made sure to give her the goods when she noticed Glory Girl heading to the crowd. Thank Bastet for that; I could kiss that smug little vixen for watching out for my dumbass sister.
I didn't notice her in the crowd when I moved all the heroes into the bubble; there were just too many for me to pay attention to the individuals, and her mind was lost in the crowd. Damnit, Vicky.
– Victoria Dallon (Glory Girl) –
Diving in, she landed several powerful blows on the Endbringer. It tried to swipe back at her but empowered by Sugar's goodies, she dashed back, feeling so much lighter than usual. She needn't have bothered, the Titan slamming its fist down and beating Behemoth into the ground.
She was even more sure that Sugar Rush was Felix now, since his pet Thinker Overwatch had immediately given her some goodies when she'd made it clear she was planning on taking part.
And, of course, she was joining the fray when Felix was in the fight, even if he seemed to be the fucking star of the show with Myrridin hovering around him to keep him safe.
She'd come to accept that Felix was a special kind of bullshit. Just looking at the sheer size of his summon, the way he'd just nullified the infamous Kill Aura. She could feel a heat in her chest, but it wasn't hurting her at all as she kept pummeling the downed Endbringer. At least Sugar was keeping his distance, with several defensive heroes around him to keep him safe so they could keep Behemoth in the bubble.
Normally, she'd be with Amy, but being able to make sure the Endbringer couldn't reach the medical tents meant that she decided she needed to keep an eye on her other sibling, the far more reckless one.
Not that she could take the moral high ground as she uppercutted Behemoth, slamming her fist into his chin and making his head snap up slightly. Alexandria struck from above, bringing both fists down on Behemoth's skull in a hammer blow, knocking it right back down.
She'd just done a tag-team move with Alexandria… she'd fangirl later, but that was so cool, even if it was utterly unplanned.
Flying away, she saw Legend unleash a flurry of lasers at Behemoth's chest, followed up by Eidolon unleashing a purple bolt of energy that knocked Behemoth back, right into the waiting arms of the Titan.
Looking towards Sugar, she paused as she saw how focused he seemed to be. What was he doing?
– Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –
We're not losing, but we aren't winning either.
Behemoth has taken some cosmetic damage, but it is only cosmetic. For all the blows we've landed, we haven't really made any progress in hurting the fucker. At best, we might be able to make him run when I let him out of the bubble, and I find that… unacceptable.
Earthbones is powerful, but I didn't know what to do that would help here… until now.
It's a small thing, something I happen to notice as my power lets me see through the eyes of someone closer. Just a Ward, who really shouldn't be here, but as she unleashes a shot with her crossbow, I watch as it goes through the Endbringer with seemingly no issue at all. Lily herself doesn't notice what she did, but I do.
I immediately understood what happened. [Luck] is such a strange thing because it is not something you can really judge on how much of an effect it is having, but I just happened to be in the right mind at the right time to notice that the New York Cape, Flechette, can hurt the bastard.
But again, she's keeping her distance and being able to pierce the Endbringer isn't enough to kill it. Taking a reckless chance, I push into Behemoth's alien mind with [Moondragon], getting a confused roar as it feels the incredibly unsubtle intrusion, ripping the information I want out.
The base of the throat, directly in between his shoulders. It does have a weakness buried deep behind countless impossibly thick layers.
"Alexandria, I- I might be able to kill it, but I need to explain something first," I say into the band, watching Alexandria stop fighting as she flies back to me at incredible speeds.
"I'm listening," Alexandria says, pressing something on one of the bands. Eidolon moves as well, a field forming around us before he moves back in. "We have privacy."
"I know how to kill Behemoth, I know where its core is… but I can't land the blow with my current powers. I need your permission to Master a PRT cape," I admit, watching her go silent. This is a chance to kill an Endbringer; if I get birdcaged for this, it'd still be worth it.
"You have it," Alexandria says, not asking any questions. I send a mental apology to Lily for what is about to happen.
"I'm going to be defenceless when I do this, like a puppet with its strings cut," I warn, getting a nod from her.
"I'll personally protect you; you have my word," Alexandria promises, making me smile before I ready myself.
Focusing, I project my mind towards Flechette and overwhelm her mind in an instant as I suppress her will and take her body for my own. I can feel her terror at losing control of her body, but I don't hesitate, summoning Ebony and Ivory into my hands as I make my decision and use [WFD] to kick everyone out of the reality bubble, except Alexandria, Eidolon, my body since I need to be here, and Flechette.
Flechette's hands start to glow, both guns emanating a pink light as I take aim and pull the triggers. Flechette's own power helps me, her near-perfect understanding of trajectories and timing improving my own aim as I unleash a hail of Sting-enhanced bullets towards the Endbringer. Wait, Sting? Lily didn't name her power that…
Ebony and Ivory care not for things like 'logic' or 'physics' as they fire hundreds of bullets at the Endbringer. The bullets tear through the Endbringer's body. Not all of them hit between the shoulders, but when you're unleashing literally thousands of shots, accuracy becomes rather optional.
I momentarily feel my mind wander to the consequences of this, showing just what I can truly do… but if this works, I don't care if I get birdcaged.
Behemoth goes to move, each bullet that strikes the core chipping away more of the orb, but my Behemoth doesn't allow that as it grabs him once more, gripping his arms and holding him in place for me.
Behemoth roars, but for the first time, it doesn't sound angry. It sounds afraid, and as I sense what is about to happen, my eyes widen, and I banish myself, Alexandria, Eidolon and Flechette from the bubble, dismissing my guns.
I spot Alexandria carrying my body, looking over at me. We all feel the blast, the air seeming to crack, but the final fuck you from Behemoth is contained inside the bubble, strong enough that even my Titan, who I left inside to keep watch on the Endbringer, can't withstand it.
Silence falls over the crowd as they look around. With Behemoth nowhere in sight, nobody seems to know what to do, right up until my bubble 'pops'. Appearing some distance from us, the smoking, irradiated corpse of Behemoth appears and falls to the floor, unmoving.
Nobody says a thing for what feels like a full minute, though in truth, it is barely a few seconds before a massive cheer comes from the crowd, shock and awe blaring into my mind. People heard my initial message, and more than a few people are asking Alexandria questions that she doesn't have the answer to. Amy quickly confirms that I'm alive, just unconscious (with a mental message from me), and Flechette is lost in the crowd of celebrating heroes and villains alike. I remain in the mind of the panicking ward for now, so she doesn't give the game away.
Behemoth, the Hero-Killer, is dead.
– Rebecca Costa-Brown (Alexandria) –
She'd had to excuse herself from the chaotic celebrations, taking Sugar Rush's unconscious body with her. She hadn't missed that he was seemingly possessing Flechette, making her wonder what she had missed.
"So, this is what it feels like to no longer be the strongest?" Eidolon asked, making her turn to David. Despite her expectations, he chuckled under his breath. "It's humbling to know that there's always someone better. If I'm Trump 12, what should we give Sugar Rush?"
"Trump: Yes?" Alexandria half-joked, feeling unusually light. She'd seen an Endbringer die. A part of her had given up hope that they'd ever reach this day, but she'd been there to watch Behemoth die.
A knock on the door made them straighten up. Legend entered the room, and Flechette followed behind.
"Sugar Rush, I take it?" Alexandria asked, making the young girl nod.
"I am, though Flechette is still 'awake'. She can see everything; I'm just in control," Sugar admitted, her eyes closing for a moment before the body she was still holding shot up. Flechette let out a surprised cry, shuddering as her body was her own again.
"What-"
Holding Sugar in a princess carry, she gently placed him down as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sorry, Flechette. I wouldn't have done that if I didn't think it was necessary," Sugar said, back in his own body as Flechette took several deep breaths, Legend patting her on her back gently.
"I- God, that felt so weird. But- I…" Flechette tried, pausing to gather her thoughts. "You killed an Endbringer with my power."
"Sting can pierce their bodies and destroy their cores. I noticed one of your shots went straight through Behemoth's body. I knew where his weak point was, and just trying to help you aim would have been less likely to work," Sugar explained, making her nod.
"I know. When you were… in me, I could hear your thoughts," Flechette admitted. "It's… I won't say I liked it, but you didn't either. 'If this works, I don't care if I get birdcaged', right?"
"Something like that, yeah," Sugar agreed, making her nod.
"I didn't like it, but I'll get over it. Behemoth won't; that's what matters," Flechette said before pausing. "You are a terrible shot, by the way. It's no wonder you didn't want to use my crossbow," Flechette teased, making him laugh.
"Accuracy is optional when you have two pistols with infinite ammo and a rapid-fire setting," Sugar Rush joked, summoning the pair of black and white pistols into his hands.
"Flechette, this is classified to the highest level. You are not to speak of anything about Sugar Rush's master powers or your ability to hurt the Endbringers," Alexandria ordered, making the young girl nod rapidly. If she could hurt the Endbringers, she might even be able to hurt him. "We don't need the Fallen hunting you when you are now a key component in destroying the Endbringers."
Flechette straightened up, nodding seriously.
"I'm fine with Felix taking the cre- Oh shit, sorry, Sugar. I told you I could hear a lot more than just your thoughts," Flechette confessed, mortified. "I saw a lot, and you don't think of yourself as Sugar Rush."
"It's fine, Lily. I turned you into a puppet; you learning my identity is more than fair," Felix replied, giving her a small smile, hesitating for a moment before he removed his mask.
"But yeah, he can take the credit. I don't need that kind of attention," Lily continued, removing her mask as well.
"What about the bounty?" Eidolon asked, making Lily hesitate. "You don't mind him getting all that, as well?"
"I wouldn't have been able to do this; I didn't know where the weak point was… so yeah. I was just a tool Felix used," Lily agreed after a moment.
"If you hadn't attended, this wouldn't be possible. Split it fifty-fifty?" Felix offered, making her hesitate again. "Lily, it's enough money to set you up for life; take it. Consider my apology for borrowing your body."
"Heh, fair enough," Lily agreed, giving Felix a smile.
"Lily, I'm going to have to ask you to leave us. Return to the party; act as if you were sent away at the same time as everyone else," Alexandria ordered, making Lily nod as she remasked.
"I will," Lily promised. "Frankly, this is all a little too high level for me anyway."
Legend escorted her back out of the room as she and David turned to Felix.
"You realise that while you were on the highest security level chat, dozens of capes heard you say you had an idea how to kill Behemoth, and then the next thing they knew, he was dead," Alexandria pointed out, making Felix nod seriously.
"I'll be shocked if half the capes at the battle don't already know," Felix agreed. "Still worth it."
"You're going to be a target from now on, both for recruitment and for people who want to take advantage of you," Alexandria warned, getting another nod from him. "The Titan alone would have made you a top-tier cape, but the fact that your power is only growing, and so quickly?"
"I know, believe me, I know," Felix said. "So, what happens now?"
Alexandria hesitated, sharing a look with Eidolon, before she came to a decision.
"Nobody knows about your master power but the Triumvirate and Flechette. It is probably best that it remains that way. You certainly won't be Birdcaged for slaying an Endbringer; I can promise you that," Alexandria joked, making him smile slightly.
"You are essentially the new Me," Eidolon added, making Felix freeze. "The world's strongest Trump. You'll have countless challengers; power attracts opposition. People will be placing all their hopes on you, expecting you to repeat your trick with Leviathan and the Simurgh."
"I used my mental powers to briefly attack Behemoth's mind; that's how I discovered his weak point. I really don't want to try that with the Simurgh," Felix admitted, making David chuckle.
"Entirely fair," David agreed. "But it won't stop people from having such high hopes for you. The Fallen will come for you; you just slew one of their gods. They won't allow that to stand. Every group in the world will want to recruit you, and many won't take no for an answer."
A part of her wanted to push for PRT recruitment, but she held back. Felix was running around as an independent, even as a child of New Wave.
"What do you want to do, Felix?" Alexandria asked, making him pause.
"Clean up my city," Felix said after a long pause. "After that? I don't know. I'll be honest; a lot of my plans just got thrown out of the window."
She could understand that, but she had one simple question. How powerful could he become? Could he be the silver bullet she was looking for?
– Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –
It's safe to say the world's eye is upon me after this, but I just proved that the Endbringers weren't unkillable. I'll need to prepare for the chaos that will follow this, but I regret nothing.
Feat Achieved: Become World Famous (200cp granted), Slay Behemoth (1000cp granted), Gain Cauldron's Support (200cp granted). 1400cp granted.
Oh fuck, that's a lot of points, but who the fuck is Cauldron? I can worry about that later because I have rolls to do!
[Fortunate Saber] - 200cp, 1200 remaining
Those who rely on tricks and little cheats to win against their betters will quail away at your approach. The luck of a Saber protects you against the dirty tricks of Irishmen and those like them, allowing you to avert or dodge things that shouldn't be. Your luck provides you with a decent chance of negating 'certain' dangers, such as dodging a spear that cannot be dodged or not dying to a weapon fated to kill you. This can be seen as a propensity to change your fate, letting you rewrite small things that should have happened if you can keep up with the dangers involved. You also tend to be quite lucky in general, having little moments of good fortune throughout your day. Though both of these work on the small scale, they apply constantly enough to ensure a steady advantage against most foes.
Sabers with this trait can be a little more reckless than others. They've gotten used to taking risks and betting on themselves against the odds. It's a charming sort of confidence but quite dangerous for any allies that come to believe they're the same way.
Okay, but why does it say it will protect me against Irishmen? I don't get it. Still, more luck is never going to be a bad thing.
[Combat Instincts] 200cp, 1000cp remaining
Most Sabers are born for war, having a natural talent before they ever set foot on the battlefield. You've honed that talent with years of experience in conflicts, too, developing it into genuine precognitive instincts. Your instincts allow you to predict the moves and techniques others make in combat, even when you've had no experience with your current foe. By drawing on your past memories, you can quickly piece together the tactics and mechanics of your enemies, telling you the best ways to fight back against them. This process is lightning-fast in battle, helping you use all sorts of varying abilities of your own and factors outside of your control to clutch a win from the jaws of defeat. In an active sense, it's almost impossible to trick or feint against you in battle, your instincts easily seeing through all but the most cunning warriors.
If a Saber has developed this level of instinctual awareness of combat, they've been fighting for a long time. They don't think anything of more war and can forget that those around them aren't as used to sudden, brutal violence.
What is a Saber? Well, I'll never say no to being better at combat. My spar with Amy showed that I need all the help I can get.
[Deathly Hallow - The Cloak of Invisibility] 400cp, 600cp remaining
This is the third item of the set of Deathly Hallows. Again, made either by Death or by Ignotus, the third Peverell brother, this cloak is a timeless, eternally functional invisibility cloak. In addition, you don't age while you have this on, but only when you have it on completely, meaning no part of your body should be visible. No magic except that cast by the Elder Wand or an artifact of similar strength can penetrate this invisibility, and attempts to summon this cloak from you fail. In addition, you can always see it unless you want otherwise. You may turn this into any other form of full-body covering garment at will.
A cloak that can hide you from Death itself? I'm a little annoyed at the price, but I won't say no to this.
[Data Khala] 100cp, 500cp remaining
While psionics are powerful, sometimes a technological solution is needed. This is the Templar's solution to a technological Khala. A powerful digital Khala that links together all the different Purifier units. You have your own version of this. With this, all of your computers and AI can communicate with each other over cosmic distances with zero lag time. Instantaneous information sharing. As the centre of this digital Khala, you can link to and communicate with it, too.
Hmm, it's not really useful right now, as the only computer I have is the one Lisa uses, but it's also going to be useful as I start to build more Gremlins, using [Crystal Mechanics].
[Power Up] - 300cp, 200cp remaining
Sailor Moon is the Soldier of Love, and the love of her friends and humanity lends her strength when everything is at risk. You'll find that you can draw on other sources of power to enhance your own, namely your emotions. In general, power boosters are enhanced, but this also allows one to protect or heal oneself temporarily, resist possession long enough to warn those you care about about the change and fight off the effects of curses temporarily and other effects when experiencing emotional highs. All of the former effects are temporary and based on a selected emotion you choose when you take this perk, but in addition to that, you'll find that you can focus your emotions on your powers to significantly boost them.
I'm sorry, did I just get the power of love and friendship? Amy is gonna tease me so fucking hard about this, isn't she?
[Pouch of Destruction] - 200cp, 0cp remaining
A small pouch with a strap so that it can be attached to a belt. When you reach into this pouch, you will always find a grenade-type weapon containing a basic fire, blizzard or thunder spell. A new one will appear in the pouch after the previous one is set off, and it will always have the element you want.
And a pouch of explosives to put Oni Lee to shame? Well, it's better to have them and not need them and all that.

Author's Note: Writing a fight with two creatures called Behemoth is weird. That is all.
I was looking over the character sheet, remembered that the Wards attended the fight against Behemoth in New Delhi, and went, 'Oh shit, Felix can kill him'.

I am entirely motivated by praise and interaction, so leave a review, and I'll probably write faster. I do read every review/comment, because it gives me the happy brain chemicals and motivates me to write more. My body is a machine that turns positive reviews into new chapters.
I have a Patreo n, where my supporters can vote on which fics get bonus chapters each cycle and have access to advance chapters, up to ten chapters ahead of the public release. Patreo n is also five chapters ahead and plat/diamond tier have voting rights for my Quest. Feel free to check it out.
I also set up a Subscribe Star as well, more or less just as a backup/test to see which I prefer. The chapters are available on Discord if you're a Patreo n and on the site directly on Subscribe Star due to the different site rules, so if you don't use Discord or have issues finding the chapters, Subscribe Star is the better choice.
The Advance Chapters
Diamond: Celestial Remnant Ch08, Celestial Professor Ch02, The Blessed Ch07, The Warlord Ch14
Plat: The Nightmare Ch13, The Supervillain Ch27, The Celestial Professor Ch01 (snippet)
Gold: New Game Plus Ch08, The Occult Ch08
Basic: Guide to Necromancy Ch09
The Nightmare Ch12.5
Quest: The Celestial Roulette Ch14-18

I have a Discord server with a bunch of other authors and a load of porn. So much porn.
Here's the link for that: discord .gg/DarkWolfShiro
If it says it's expired, it is probably your account being unable to join NSFW servers, and you'll need to fix that. If you fix that and it still says it's expired, add me (DarkWolfShiro), and I'll invite you myself.
