Chapter 14: Afterparty
– Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –
100cp gained, 100cp total
[Superhuman Stamina (Tier One)] - 100cp, 0cp remaining.
The fortitude and hardiness to keep going and resist less obvious sources of damage. This can be purchased three times; the first purchase makes it so you no longer need to breathe and grants a small amount of resistance to poison, disease, and (non-supernatural) radiation; the second causes your body to no longer need sleep and increases your resistances moderately, while the third purchase makes it so you no longer need food or water and grants immunity to poison, disease, and radiation.
May be Purchased Three Times
It immediately locks in the following two tiers, but I won't say no to such a convenient power. If nothing else, immunity to poison, disease and radiation while also removing my need to breathe gives me near-immunity to a lot of dangers.
"Before you go to enjoy the celebrations, I'd like to place a personal order for as many Energy Eclairs as you can make," Eidolon requests, distracting me from my new power. I don't miss the thoughtful frown on Alexandria's lips as she watches me. She knows my power has grown again.
I blink, looking at Eidolon curiously.
"I can do that, but why do you want so many?" I ask, making him hesitate and share a look with Alexandria. They hold a short, silent conversation before he turns back to me.
"This is very classified, Felix, but I have been losing my powers. It is why I've stopped patrolling, only fighting the most dangerous villains and threats. I simply couldn't afford to waste any of my energy; the more I use my powers, the weaker I get," Eidolon explains grimly, making my eyes widen.
Eidolon is generally seen as one of the strongest heroes in the world, if not the strongest. He's at every Endbringer battle and is credited with driving back more Endbringers than anyone else.
"Whenever we find a new form of healing or buffing, we always arrange for some to be tested with Eidolon to see if it can help restore his powers. They consistently failed to make a difference until we tested your Energy Eclairs. It is a minute increase in energy per eclair; it would take dozens just to restore what he used today, but your Eclairs are the first thing to restore his energy at all," Alexandria continues, making my mind race. She pauses, seeing the deep thought on my face. "What is it, Sugar Rush?"
I hesitate because I have an idea on how to restore much more of his powers… at the cost of giving up one of my secrets. The Golden Apples.
I can alter them to do damn near anything when I pluck them from the tree. The ones I picked for Amy and me both gave us a massive resistance to master and thinker effects, but I could easily make an apple that provides the eater with near-limitless energy.
But if I do that, I'm giving away the fact that I have apples of immortality.
I know I'm drawing attention by my silence, and after a moment, I make up my mind. This is Eidolon, one of the Triumvirate; if you can't trust the biggest and most experienced heroes in the world, who can you trust?
"I have access to another item that might be able to restore your energy permanently, or, at the very least, far more so than any Eclair," I admit, watching them both go still.
"So why are you hesitating? What is the problem?" Alexandria asks, making me smile sheepishly.
"Because the Apples grant two effects when eaten. One is a special effect of my choosing, such as limitless energy, and the other is extending the eater's lifespan by thousands of years," I admit. "I used one to gain massive resistance to thinkers and master powers, but unlike my Eclairs, I have a limited number of them that are restored very slowly."
My orchard has ten trees; each tree only produces a single apple a year. They started with plenty of apples, but I've already used three this week. Me, Amy and Bastet. Vicky charging Behemoth with her usual caution has shown me that I need to give her and the rest of my family apples as well. What if she died here because I was too busy trying to keep my secrets?
For all my new powers, that's one thing I can't undo.
"You're sure?" Alexandria asks, making me nod.
"I have an instinctual understanding of what my stuff does. As you can imagine, I don't want to let it get out that I have access to effective immortality- from old age at least, you can very much still die despite the apple," I say, considering the chaos that would come from that revelation. The Simurgh isn't going to be as easy as Behemoth, and I have no doubt Leviathan will be tricky as well, given the death of Behemoth. We have no idea how this could change how the Endbringers act; the world needs Eidolon at his best.
– Rebecca Costa-Brown (Alexandria) –
Staring at Felix in shock, her mind raced. Oddly enough, the extended lifespan was not her main focus. He could customise these 'apples' to have incredible effects; would he be able to remove Contessa's blindspot with it?
"And you're willing to sell us one of these apples?" Eidolon asked, focused on the prospect of regaining his full power.
"Sell? How do you put a price tag on a thousand-year lifespan?" Felix laughed grimly, clearly conflicted about his decision to reveal his apples. "I certainly don't know what price I could put on them."
"I believe the price is 'whatever you want', not that you'll need money when the Behemoth bounty pays out. It's well into the ten-figure range, even with you sharing it with Flechette," Alexandria pointed out, making Felix blanch. It was one thing to know there was a large bounty and another to hear an estimate of the actual number. Behemoth had the highest bounty, built up by countless donations and desperate countries over the years. Kurt would be unhappy to see the money leave his hands and get paid out, which made her chuckle mentally.
Felix paused, and she could tell he was considering what to do with what was essentially a blank check. There was little he could ask for that she wouldn't authorise, but having Eidolon at his full strength was going to be a godsend when it came to the final battle against Scion.
When Felix finally spoke, she felt her lips twitch. He could have demanded Brockton Bay as his own little kingdom, with a harem of heroines bound to his throne in golden chains and nothing else, and gotten it, and yet somehow, his decision on the price was very on brand for such an obscenely strong cape that went by the name Sugar Rush.
Retrieving the apple, he held out the apple with pure golden skin towards Eidolon, who took it slowly, examining the shining fruit for a moment before he opened his mouth and took a bite. It clearly tasted delicious, given how he devoured it moments later before a burst of laughter left him, energy crackling around him.
David stood up straighter, the smile on his face reminding her of the Eidolon she used to know before he'd lost his strength and his friend.
"You won't regret this, Felix," Eidolon promised, the joy in his tone transparent to them both.
"I'll see to your request. With my connections and Costa-Brown's help, it won't take any time at all," Alexandria promised, making Felix smile as he put on the mask. "Now, there's a giant party going on outside, and the star of the show is still missing. Go, enjoy your victory. Life is going to get complicated for you, I'm afraid, so you should appreciate the celebrations while you can."
"Heh, you're not wrong. It was an honour fighting alongside you; I'm sure we'll see each other again," Felix agreed, giving them a slight bow before he turned and left.
Of that, he could be sure.
She made a decision as she watched him leave, sharing a look with the ecstatic Eidolon. Felix was too strong to be left unattended, but she didn't want to alienate him by trying to force him into the PRT. Perhaps it was time for Cauldron to get a new member. She wouldn't tell him everything, but bringing him into the secret of Scion could help keep him on their side. He wanted to be a hero; she was going to give him the chance to save every world.

Feat Achieved: Gain Eidolon's Undying Friendship (200cp), Gain Cauldron's Trust (200cp), Restore Eidolon to his prime (200cp). 200cp spent on [Superhuman Stamina (Tier Two)] and [Superhuman Stamina (Tier Three)], 400cp remaining.
Cauldron, again? It has to be related to Alexandria and Eidolon, but I've never heard that name before. I tried to resist using Moondragon on either of them; they're the Triumvirate, after all, but I might have to take that chance soon.
[Magically Gifted] - 100cp, 300cp remaining.
You may not be much physically, but mentally and magically you are gifted; this talent shows itself as a slightly larger than normal pool of magic to draw upon, allowing you to cast longer and better than others of the same class as yourself.
It's a smaller boost than Power Overwhelming, but it's a boost all the same.
[Arcane] - 100cp, 200cp remaining
You have the mystical trait known as "Arcane" that makes it extremely difficult to remember or detect you when you don't want to be remembered or detected. This also provides a degree of protection against sympathetic magic.
Huh, my own Stranger power. Don't mind if I do, because there are times when I'll want to go unnoticed. My power tells me that 'sympathetic magic' also refers to thinker powers, so that is another layer of protection there as well.
[Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex] - 200cp, 0cp remaining
You broke something again; this super strength is definitely taking some getting used to. At least it was. For some reason, when you woke up this morning, it seemed like something was working perfectly in your brain, and now your powers are modulated to whatever you desire. If you had super-strength enough to destroy planets, now you can juggle Faberge Eggs without fear of breaking them. You might be able to manipulate fire on par with stars, but now you find you can use it so finely that you could light the head of a match on fire. Use your star-shattering telekinesis to manipulate an atom; why not?
It doesn't matter what you do, but now you have perfect conscious control and modulation of any and all powers or abilities that you possess: even in things that may be considered unconscious actions, you may consciously control how fast your heart beats, your core temperature or the strength of rapid muscular contractions. That said, this doesn't let you do things with your powers that you couldn't normally do. If your "star-shattering telekinesis", for example, couldn't usually control or affect things on an atomic scale, this perk wouldn't change that. This is just control and refinement when using your powers in ways they can already be used; it doesn't actually expand what your powers are capable of.
Ah, I probably need this, considering how strong I'm getting with my stacking buffs.
– Victoria Dallon (Glory Girl) –
Tracking down Sugar in all the chaos was hard, but she'd received word that he was up and moving around again after whatever he'd done that had knocked him out. She was almost completely convinced that he was Felix, which meant that her brother had just killed a fucking Endbringer.
She spotted Sugar being surrounded by his well-wishers and adoring fans. It was odd to see powerful capes wanting an autograph of Sugar, a "joke" cape, but that was the kind of fame that slaying an Endbringer came with.
Approaching him, she gave him a flirty smile as he spotted her. She was putting an end to this silly game. What was his plan if he died here and they came home to find him missing? Was that how he wanted Mom to find out he'd triggered?
"Hey, Sugar," Vicky said simply. "I wasn't expecting you to take part in this, but then, I don't think anyone was expecting what happened today."
"You're not wrong, Glory. Even I wasn't expecting today to go like this," Sugar admitted with a dry chuckle, a drink in his hand. Was that her brother's chin? It looked like him, and she'd noticed that his boots were designed to add an inch or two on. "Wasn't expecting to see you charge Behemoth; someone is confident in their invulnerability."
"Well, I wasn't going to stay out of it; I've never been good at sitting around," Vicky laughed, not entirely hiding the tremor. Fighting an Endbringer was always a terrifying experience. "Anyway, I need to talk to you in private. We've not had a chance to talk face to face since the charity event got crashed, and I need to ask you something."
Sugar hesitated before he finished his glass and excused himself from the local capes with whom he had been mingling. Seeing her chance, she took his hand and led him to one of the tents that had been set up.
"What's wrong, Glory?" Sugar asked, making her turn to him with a grin.
"You can just call me Vicky, and honestly, I just wanted an excuse to get you alone," Vicky admitted, strutting towards him as he froze. "Come on, now, don't tell me the big bad Behemoth killer is all talk? All our flirting and foreplay, and now here we are…"
Come on, Felix, admit that it's you under that mask.
Placing her hands on his chest, she gave him a hungry look as they wandered lower.
"You know, people keep talking about how they can't decide what kind of reward you deserve for putting Behemoth down, and I think I can think of a… personal reward," Vicky teased, reaching up and pushing her dress off her shoulders as she let it pool at her feet, exposing her white bra. She still had her white bike shorts on that she wore under her dress, a necessity for any flyer, really, but she smiled as Sugar went quiet. "What do you say, ready to give me that cream you promised me?"
Or admit that you are my big brother already, you stubborn prat. She took his hand, going further as she placed it on her chest, and after a moment, she felt it sink into her bountiful mound, gently groping her over her bra.
Wait, was she wrong?
"Well, Sugar, ready for your reward?" Vicky asked, reaching behind her and unclipping her bra, letting it fall to the floor.
– Felix Dallon (Sugar Rush) –
Once more, my stubbornness is going to get me into more trouble than anything else as I gently grope Vicky's breasts.
She knows it's me, she knows that I know, and she's still going this far? Half the party saw her drag me into this tent. What is she planning on telling Dean when word gets out?
Maybe it's the whiskey in me, but I can't bring myself to admit defeat and lose our game of chicken, smiling at her.
"Honestly, I figured you were going to be all talk. What would your boyfriend think?" I ask, giving her tit a rough squeeze as she moans lightly. "Are you sure about this, Vicky? This isn't something you can undo."
"Don't worry about Dean, I can handle him… and I've just felt drawn to you from the first moment we met. I want this," Vicky says breathily, kissing my neck as I make my mind up.
"Not here, come with me," I say, grabbing her dress and taking her hand as I open the portal to my castle and lead her into it.
"Damn, Sugar, where did you get this place?" Vicky asks, but I just give her a grin as I lead her through the hallways. I'm not backing down, and given that I know she knows it's me, she's not backing down either.
I can hear her thoughts, and she is currently shocked that I'm not backing down, but I just lead her into my bedroom and take a seat on the bed, undoing my belt as she watches. Just admit you know it's me, Vicky.
Pulling out my cock, her gasp is entirely honest as she takes in my size. My many physical buffs have given me a body to be very proud of.
'Fuck, Felix is packing… I thought those pictures were fake.'
"Well, Vicky? Still ready to reward me?" I ask, making her pause before she smiles again, hooking her fingers into her bike shorts and pushing both them and her panties down in one swift movement. Standing before me, utterly naked, she places her hand on her hips and poses for a moment.
'Is he really going to go through with this? He knows I know it's him, right? What if he doesn't? Maybe he thinks he's really tricked me? God, he puts Dean to shame.'
"You're the saviour of the day, so just tell me how you want me, hero," Vicky offers as she struts forward, reaching out and grasping my cock. "I'm yours, hot stuff; any way you want me."
'Am I really going to do this? It's even bigger in my hand, my fingers don't even fully wrap around it… maybe this isn't Felix? Oh god, I'm cheating on Dean, I let this go way too far, but I can't stop now…'
Vicky isn't as confident as she is acting, and that makes me hesitate, giving her a look as she returns a sultry smirk. But… I can sense her arousal; she isn't unwilling; she does want this as well.

No, folks, you didn't misread the title.
Behemoth, the Hero-Killer himself, is dead.
We still don't have all the information, but this has been confirmed by multiple sources, and I'll tell you what I know.
Behemoth attempted to attack Cairo, Egypt, and as the heroes were gathering, a new hero from Brockton Bay requested permission to deploy a 'summon'. For those unfamiliar with Sugar Rush, he is a cape capable of both creating cakes and pastries, as well as making tinkertech food that grants buffs (like the Radaway Ricciarellis he donated to help deal with Behemoth's radiation). He also has a summon that has been identified as a Grapplehawk from the Earth Aleph fiction series, Warhammer 40k. He was permitted to use 'a bigger summon' that could deal with radiation. [Titan Behemoth].
Bigger was the understatement of a century, as he summoned a three-hundred-foot woolly mammoth with gorilla arms for its front legs, which used Behemoth as a stress ball and kept him at bay. The summon, also named Behemoth (for reasons nobody knows), wasn't able to truly hurt Behemoth, but neither could the Endbringer hurt the Titan (the name the attending capes gave it). Sugar Rush's thread is [here].
It's worth noting that his Grapplehawk is literally small enough to ride on his shoulder. [Grapplehawk]. Bigger is undoubtedly a correct description, but it is a bit of an understatement.
During this, Sugar Rush's allies arrived, [Overwatch], [Hellhound] and an unnamed blonde who is suspected of having been Squealer before she turned a new leaf [Blonde], bringing with them a massive stockpile of Sugar Rush's tinkertech goods which were donated to the support efforts, including Speedy Strudels that made you a low-level mover, scones that made you a brute, cookies that healed your wounds and other baked goods.
While the Titan kept Behemoth at bay, Sugar Rush deployed a new power which trapped everyone in a 'bubble of alternate reality' where the heroes could fight Behemoth without risking collateral, and whenever someone was severely injured, he'd simply banish them from the bubble to where the medics were waiting.
After an extended fight, Sugar Rush requested to speak to Alexandria over the high-priority channel, claiming to have an idea that may kill the Endbringer. Alexandria flew over to him, and shortly afterwards, everyone was banished from the bubble except Sugar Rush, Titan Behemoth and Alexandria.
We do not know what happened inside there, but Alexandria left the bubble shortly afterwards carrying an unconscious Sugar Rush, and the bubble 'popped', leaving a charred, destroyed Endbringer corpse behind. [BehemothCorpse]
Alexandria carried Sugar Rush to safety; however, he was seen in perfect health, enjoying the party later on, having recovered from whatever it was that he did.
The PRT has put out a statement confirming that they know what he did to kill Behemoth and that it is classified due to fears that the Simurgh may be able to counter it if she learns of it (entirely reasonable fear, in my opinion). Sugar Rush is being given the bounty for Behemoth (estimated to be around fifteen billion USD).
With the lack of details, I can't really say more, but what I can say is simply, 'Thank you, Sugar Rush'. Behemoth is gone, reduced to a charred corpse like so many of his victims.
The current theory around Sugar Rush is that he is a Trump, not unlike Eidolon, but unlike Eidolon, he has no limit on the amount of powers he can have and is constantly developing more.
Whatever comes from this, we finally have proof. Endbringers can die. Behemoth was the first to appear and the first to die. Here's hoping he's not alone for long.

I can confirm this! I was there and even got banished from the bubble after I was struck by lightning. Probably would have died if it wasn't for Sugar Rush's quick thinking.
What I do have to say is, what the fuck is that name? Sugar Rush for an Endbringer Slayer? Why not rename Legend to Discostar?
No idea what he did in that bubble, but I also don't give a damn. Behemoth died within a mile of my city without a single civilian losing their lives to him.
What? Just because I'm a villain doesn't mean I want to see my city burn. I can't rob the banks if Behemoth blows them up!
►Legend (Protectorate: New York) (Triumvirate)
Replied On Dec 1st 2010:
I have to admit I've been thinking the same. Sugar Rush is a very respectful young man and a true hero, but I suspect he didn't realise just how powerful he would become when he picked that name.
I was honoured to play a small part in slaying the Hero-Killer and look forward to seeing how Sugar's career grows. Brockton Bay is lucky to have him.

Wait, Hellhound and Squealer are both villains, right?
Why does Sugar Rush have villains on his side? Isn't Hellhound a literal murderer?
►Overwatch (Verified Cape) (Candyland)
Replied On Dec 1st 2010:
Hi, all!
I'm Overwatch, the cute blonde thinker who showed up with the pile of lifesaving goodies courtesy of my boss, Sugar Rush (goods which are now available to order on our site, courtesy of Toybox and Number Man).
I thought I'd help confirm some things.
Yes, Hellhound and Squealer are former villains, and so am I. I was Tattletale of the Undersiders, due to a villain named Coil kidnapping me and blackmailing me into villainy until Sugar saved me and I joined his side.
Hellhound's 'murder' was an accident during her trigger event, but her power has made her mindset different from regular people's, and she saw the heroes chasing her as threats, which made her keep running until she was recruited and manipulated by the same villain as me. All she really wants is to look after her dogs, which Sugar can provide the means for.
Squealer, who is currently looking for a new name but hasn't picked one yet, was captured by Skidmark when she was starting out and forcibly addicted to a variety of drugs. Sugar Rush used a Cleansing Croissant to remove her addictions and gave her a safe place to work in peace.
So yes, we are all former villains, with a heavy emphasis on the former. Sugar Rush has given us a fresh start, and the PRT have pardoned us for our various crimes as long as we are working with Candyland (our new team) and do not fall back into villainy.
For those trying to get into contact with Sugar Rush himself, he's currently away from this account, but if you send any professional requests to me, I'll see that they reach him (orders for his goods should go through the site)

Since you lot keep PMing me about it, yes his goods are perfectly safe. The PRT had me test them when he first appeared. Yes, "Ooooh, tinker food scary", but he wouldn't be allowed to sell it if it wasn't safe.

It would be unheroic to not put out for Sugar Rush.
