Chapter 81 - Misaki's reproach(part81)

(After the girls' footsteps faded in the corridor, and the quiet settled over the place, Misaki turned to Ahmed, her eyes gleaming with a mixture of reproach and shyness. She seemed to still be under the effect of what had happened moments ago—not just the words of the jealous girls, but Ahmed's sudden and bold declaration in front of everyone. She stopped walking and tapped his shoulder lightly, like a child masking her confusion with a pout, and said in Japanese, in a grumbling tone that carried a hidden, playful note:

Misaki: "Ahmed-kun! What you did just now wasn't fair... you embarrassed me in front of the whole school!"

Ahmed smiled a warm smile, which held no trace of regret, but a hidden pride in his boldness. However, when he saw her wide eyes filled with reproach, he felt he had to graciously accept her words. He paused a little, then whispered, shrugging his shoulders with feigned innocence:

Ahmed: "But I only told the truth... you are the only one I care about."

The redness on Misaki's face deepened, so she turned her head to the side, pretending to be uninterested, but she couldn't hide a small smile that appeared at the corner of her lips. Then she looked at him again, this time with a cunning look on her face, as if she had found an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. She said in a serious tone, unusual for her, but full of hidden playfulness:

Misaki: "Fine... if you really want to compensate me for this embarrassing situation, I want something from you."

Ahmed (astonished, raising his eyebrows): "Something? And what is it?"

She moved a little closer to him, as if she wanted to make her request a secret between them, then she said with a wide smile and her eyes sparkling with childlike mischief:

Misaki: "I want a new Yemeni dish. One I haven't tasted before... and I want it to be made only by your own hands!"

Ahmed paused in his place for a moment, then burst into light laughter, and a look of challenge appeared on his face. He knew that Misaki, despite her simple words, wasn't asking for food as much as she was asking for a new moment to bring them together, a different memory to add to the series of memories they had begun to weave together.

Ahmed: "Very well, Misaki... I will prepare a Yemeni dish for you that you will never forget."

Misaki smiled a spontaneous smile that filled the corridor with warmth, and continued walking beside him with lighter steps, as if she had let go of all the reproach she had carried moments before. As for Ahmed, he felt his heart growing more attached to her with every small request or fleeting smile she gave him.)
