Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Miracles of the Most High God

Not long after, Naruto and his group arrived outside the cave.

"The Goblin Shaman's totem."

Naruto's gaze swept over the strange wooden pole stuck in front of the cave entrance, and thoughts flashed through his mind.

If he hadn't known that the current Underground City dungeon's BOSS—the Goblin Hero—was inside, he might have been misled by the Goblin Shaman's totem "pole."

Although the Goblin Shaman can use magic, it is still a low-to-mid-tier monster.

That's completely different from the Goblin Hero, who has touched the threshold of high-tier.

For a Goblin Hero to be born, the number of Goblin in this nest must definitely not be small!

Besides ordinary Goblin, there are also Big Goblin, Goblin Shaman, and so on.

"Cave-dwelling Goblin shouldn't have Goblin Cavalry, right?" Naruto mused.

Goblin Cavalry are Goblin specialized in riding, and besides having a mount, their own strength isn't much higher than that of ordinary Goblin.

But a cavalry charge is a devastating blow to an adventurers' party or even a larger adventurers' group.

Fortunately, Goblin Cavalry only appear in medium to large tribes.

Such tribes, let alone giving birth to a Goblin Hero, might even have a Goblin King.

"Be careful from now on; you absolutely cannot be careless, understand?"

Before entering the cave, Naruto admonished them.

"Understood, Captain, don't worry." The Witch answered unhurriedly, smiling slightly, her beautiful eyes with tear moles exuding charm.

The Sword Saintess nodded, gripping the balance sword staff in her hand, not showing any carelessness.

Seeing this, Naruto nodded with satisfaction.

The most feared thing when leading a team is disobedient teammates.

How does that saying go?

Do not fear a god-like enemy, only fear a pig-like teammate.

If the Sword Saintess or the Witch didn't follow orders, Naruto would definitely send her back and wouldn't bring her out a second time.

As they officially stepped into the Goblin cave, a pungent smell of blood immediately filled their nostrils, rushing straight to their heads.

"What a strong smell of blood and stench."

Both the Sword Saintess and the Witch frowned tightly, instinctively covering their mouths and noses.

Naruto looked at a pool of fresh blood in the cave's hollow and calmly said, "A battle happened here not long ago."

"No, it can't be called a battle; it should be an overwhelming massacre."

Naruto surveyed his surroundings; neither the hollow nor the rock walls showed signs of intense fighting.

"Is it the Goblin Hero?"

"It killed the adventurers who tried to escape."

Naruto secretly deduced.

The corner of his eye caught a glimpse of the "mini-map" in the corner of his vision.

The red skull icon representing the BOSS was still there.

It had moved just now and then returned to its original spot.

This was enough to indicate that the Goblin Hero had made a move.

"As the first Underground City dungeon BOSS in the Goblin Slayer World, I wonder how strong it is?!"

Naruto held his breath, his heart beating slightly faster, his blue eyes flashing with excitement.

Killing Goblin during this period had been too boring.

He pursued extreme and effective killing, but it wasn't as thrilling as a fight.

Naruto was still quite looking forward to a evenly matched battle.

"My strength isn't much stronger than an adult male in the Goblin Slayer World; my advantage is agility, and Ninjutsu comparable to 'Miracles'!"

Naruto briefly analyzed and asked the Sword Saintess, "Alicia, the light in the cave is too poor, and it's probably even darker deeper inside. Do you have any illumination-like Miracles?"

The Sword Saintess replied, "Holy Light can illuminate."

"Cast it."

Upon hearing this, the Sword Saintess raised her balance sword staff, her face solemn, and chanted, "Administrator of Judgment, Lord of the Sword, Person of the Balance, please have mercy on the lost—in the name of the supreme god, dispel the darkness of this realm!"

A mass of white light rose from the staff's hilt, floating above their heads, dispelling the darkness and continuously illuminating a range of tens of meters.

This light was more sacred and brighter, with a larger illumination range, unafraid of water, wind, or blood, and there was no need to worry about it extinguishing before the "Miracle" time ended, naturally far superior to a torch.

Naruto looked up at the bright orb of light, feeling curious, and his hands felt an itch to touch it.

In the original work, the Priestess who worshipped the Earth Mother God also used Holy Light.

But the incantation was different.

Because the deity who bestowed the "Miracle" upon the Sword Saintess was the supreme god.

It's estimated that this relatively basic "Miracle" is something all deities possess.

He suppressed the urge to touch it and asked, "How long can the Holy Light last?"

The Sword Saintess replied, "I can cast Holy Light ten times a day, and each time it lasts for 30 minutes."

"That's 300 minutes in total, which is enough."

Naruto nodded.

"Do you also possess other Miracles?"

The Sword Saintess's beautiful eyes lit up.

She had waited for so many days.

Naruto finally asked about the Miracles she possessed.

The Sword Saintess immediately rattled them off: "Judgement Spear for offense, which can be cast three times a day; Shield of Salvation for defense, which can be cast four times a day; Prayer of Purity for purifying poisons and curses, which can be cast twice a day; and Divine Healing for treating wounds, which can be cast three times a day."

Naruto's mouth hung open in surprise.

Attack, defense, healing, purification…

It's too comprehensive!

"Oh, and Holy Light also has a blinding effect, but it blinds both friend and foe, and it needs to burst forth."

"After it bursts, the light mass formed by Holy Light will disappear."

Seeing Naruto's reaction, the Sword Saintess looked triumphant, a smile appearing on her lips.

"No wonder adventurers are scrambling to recruit you…"

Naruto, realizing the truth, felt a bit emotional.

Although the number of times Miracles can be used is limited, the existence of a Priestess and a Mage is itself a trump card; who would play it at the very beginning?

Used well, it's enough to turn the tide and revive a losing situation.

"Young man, my magic is not weak either," the Witch said, enunciating each word.

Naruto nodded in acknowledgment.

The Witch will be a Silver-rank Adventurer in Border Town in the future; although her rank seems lower than the Sword Saintess, Naruto felt that her true strength was probably not inferior to the blindfolded Sword Saintess.

To say nothing else, her teleportation magic, which can anchor a location in the deep sea, is a unique skill.

In the original work, Goblin Slayer's adventuring party encountered a Troll; the Elf Archer, Dwarf Shaman, and Lizard Monk, three Silver-rank Adventurers, couldn't defeat it even by working together. Goblin Slayer was almost instantly killed on their first encounter, and the four of them plus the Priestess nearly suffered a total party kill.

If Goblin Slayer hadn't used a clever trick, using a teleportation scroll to bring seawater from the deep sea, transforming it into blades of water to dismember the Troll, they would have truly capsized.

Besides scrolls, the Witch is also skilled at creating various magical tools.

A Mage plus an item crafter is completely on par with the Sword Saintess!

"My adventuring party is still very strong."

"Once my Ninjutsu level is high enough, I'll have a chance to study teleportation magic with her; maybe I can develop a space-time Ninjutsu that surpasses Flying Thunder God." Naruto planned in his mind.

Flying Thunder God still requires leaving a Jutsu formula as an anchor beforehand.

The Witch's teleportation magic doesn't even require an anchor.

After all, she herself had never been to the deep sea.
