Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Born of Fire and Moonlight

The island was untouched.

Ancient trees swayed under silver moonlight, their leaves whispering secrets in a language lost to time. Beneath them, animals stirred—some mundane, some mythical, all part of a natural world preserved by sheer remoteness. Jagged cliffs formed the island's spine, while deep within the heart of the jungle, an ancient ruin—half-swallowed by moss and time—waited in silence.

This was Moonveil Isle. A forgotten cradle of power, one of the world's many unsolved mysteries.

And on this sacred land, under a sky scattered with stars, a child was born.

---

Inside a modest wooden cottage carved into the jungle's edge, screams echoed like a storm against the calm of the wilderness. Candles flickered with golden flame as a man paced outside the room, his massive frame casting deep shadows against the walls.

Karlos D. Vane.

A former pirate, known to the world as the Crimson Reaver. Feared by Admirals. Revered by monsters. And now, nervous as hell.

"Is she alright?" he barked, though his voice trembled.

A moment later, a cry pierced through the air—not one of pain, but of life.

The baby had been born.

The man didn't wait. He stormed inside like a tidal wave, just in time to see his wife—Meredith of the Kuja—smiling weakly, sweat glistening on her brow as she held the child in trembling arms.

"He's... beautiful," she whispered.

Karlos knelt beside her, his rough hands suddenly gentle as he cupped the newborn's head. Hair as black as night. A strange warmth in his skin. The baby blinked once—then once more.

And the world answered.

The air changed. A pressure unlike any other rippled out in all directions. Trees outside groaned as animals fled. Lightning cracked in a cloudless sky.

Conqueror's Haki.

At birth.

---

No—not just Conqueror's. That wasn't just will. I felt…"

They both looked down.

Adam was no longer crying. His eyes were open, deep, unnaturally aware. Like he'd already seen things no child should. Like the storm outside answered to him.

And in his presence… their instincts—their finely honed, battle-sharpened instincts—were screaming.

Danger.

But not to them. No. To everything else.

Then…

Adam blinked again.

There was no fear. No confusion.

Just… awareness. As if something ancient had stirred in his blood.

The voice didn't even phase him.

If anything, he seemed to nod.

Like, Yeah. That made sense.

But the parents?

Were losing their goddamn minds.

"Three types of Haki," Meredith breathed. "He didn't even scream long, but I could feel it. That moment—he sensed danger and his body tried to coat in Armament. I felt my Observation stir back at me."

Karlos stared down at the baby, a wicked grin creeping across his face. "At birth. He already has them… all three."

Meredith's eyes widened in awe.

"He has it..." she whispered. "Karlos, he has *your* will."

The former pirate said nothing at first. Then, slowly, he grinned. A massive, primal thing.

"He's got both of us in him," Karlos said, lifting the child up gently. "A monster in the making. A good one."

"Adam," Meredith whispered. "His name is Adam."

"Adam D. Vane," Karlos affirmed, pride swelling in his voice. "My son."

The baby blinked again.

If he was shocked at the system voice, he didn't show it.

But his parents did.

"Three haki," Meredith whispered. "At birth. That's impossible. No human—"

"He's *my* kid. And *yours*," Karlos grinned like a beast. "Of course he's impossible."

---

In the following days, Adam's legend began quietly.

Animals refused to approach the cottage. Wild storms struck only to split around the house like a divine shield. And at night, when he cried, the forest trembled as if the very air bent to soothe him.

Karlos held him often. Told him stories of the sea. Of sky islands, sea kings, and eternal log poses.

Meredith trained again. Her instincts had never dulled. And in her son's cries, she heard something ancient—something deep.

Not just a D.

But a calling.

A myth reborn.

---

At three years old, it began.

The dreams. The whispers.

The pull toward the jungle. Toward the ruin.

"Let him go," Karlos said one day as Meredith prepared to follow Adam. "He's not like others. He won't be lost."

Meredith hesitated, then nodded. A mother's worry never truly faded. But her son had already begun to walk a different path.

---

Adam stood before the ancient ruin.

Vines hung like curtains. Moss covered old stone. It felt sacred. Heavy. Important.

The stone door was sealed—but not to him.

As he approached, it opened. A whispering echo followed, like the breath of some long-dead god.

Inside, on a raised dais surrounded by broken statues, was a fruit.

It pulsed. Dark purple and crimson. Shaped like a heart, curled in spirals. The air around it shimmered.

Adam stared. Then, as if guided by fate itself, he bit into the fruit.

It tasted like velvet thunder.

And the world changed again.
