Ciel ran.
She ran like her live depended on it.
It indeed did.
After her were the members of her so called "familiy".
But that was just the name they used for the clan.
For Ciel they were just scum.
"COME HERE YOU LITTLE WRETCH", the guy leading the pack of men chasing her shouted.
A group full of inglorious bandits which terrorized the slums of Eventale, her hometown and the capital of the northern kingdom Helnmia, one of the three last kingdoms in the northern continent Erekzu.
The last kingdoms which weren't destroyed by the great forces of evil.
"YOU BASTARDS WILL NEVER GET ME", she screamed at them, trying to calm herself down, which didn't help at all.
She lived in Eventale in zome kind of peace until the bandits showed up.
The head of the group was a guy named Groß, the guy who shouted at her just now.
He took over the slums in mere days, because he and his hunged assistant Krumm were blessed by a deity which granted them access to the Holy Guidance.
The Holy Guidance is a system created by the first humane god which allows one to access magic, the pocket dimesion storage space "Soul Treasure", the soul mirror, which displayed ones soul and therefore ones abilities, and much more.
Ciel knew just so much.
In short the Holy Guidance elevated a mundane human to the superior Guided Human.
And this system helped Groß and Krumm in controlling the slums.
Ciel was just a child back then, but because she was a rare white cat thiren they took her and enslaved her.
Not that it changed much, she was already an orphan close to starvation, roaming the streets of the slums.
Anyways, now they chased her through the empty streets of the slums of Eventale.
They weren't doing it out of a wim, which could happen and already did once, but now they were after her life.
What was understandable, she tried to kill Groß just half an hour ago.
She paced through the dark alleys and stumbled on the main street, mere meters away from the gate.
"STOP RIGHT THERE", the Guard at the Gate to the civilized part of Eventale stopped Ciel as she tried to flew from her chasers: "You can't enter the city at night thiren, leave!"
"B-But Kashmir...", Ciel looked in the Guards Eyes, which weren't her friend Kashmir's to her terror, but she turned around and dashed back onto the main street of the slums, trying to find shelter.
"GOTCHA KITTY", Groß bursted onto the street Ciel just entered and walked slowly but determined at her direction: "No more running away, my little white ear"
Ciel stumbled to her right but collided with something while she looked at Groß.
She fell to the ground as she looked at the quiet person who's shadow fell over her.
It was to her demise the hunged assistant of Groß.
With glistening eyes Krumm looked at her and licked his lips: "Playtime is over, my dear Ciel, nows Paytime"
