Chapter 1 - the darkness

On the first day of Liliane's honeymoon, she lived through hell.

She witnessed destruction — not in the form of sudden chaos, but something worse — it was creeping up on her, crawling fast, and surrounding her silently.

Liliane was an introverted girl, not social, and never interested in the affairs of others.

Her only concern was studying and succeeding. But she failed to achieve her goal because of her isolation.

She didn't connect with anyone — neither good nor bad — and that deeply affected her mental state.

She failed.

She was psychologically destroyed.

She couldn't understand why.

She even asked her parents to double-check the student's name on the results list, hoping it was a mistake — but that didn't help.

Since secondary school, her mother had understood her daughter's situation. She never hurt her. On the contrary, she tried to plant hope in Liliane's soul.

But the hope her mother ignited was brutally extinguished by her father.

He showed no mercy.

He destroyed her self-confidence.

Her mother, Matilda, finally realized that there was no solution left but marriage.

Her daughter was completely devastated and waited for a young man named Oleg to propose.

She accepted her mother's request, and she spent her honeymoon far away from her family

At night, in that desolate house dimly lit by a dying bulb, Oleg handed her a massive wooden club.

"Hit anything that comes out of the room after I go in," he said.

A shiver crept through her chest, but she had no other choice.

She gripped the club tightly and watched her husband step into the dark room.

Minutes passed like hours.

Suddenly, a small creature with long claws crawled out. Without hesitation, she charged at it. They fought—brutally, violently—and only after a fierce struggle did Liliane manage to overpower it. Her breath was heavy, her body trembling, and a strange hunger gnawed at her from within.

She stepped into the room, hoping to find Oleg.

But he wasn't there.

All she found was a pile of ash on the floor.

Her eyes darted around the room—then stopped.

A violet portal pulsed against the wall. It wasn't a doorway. It was more like a black hole, swirling, alive.

Without thinking, she stepped closer, drawn by the hope that Oleg might be inside.

But as she neared, the force pulled her in—violent, relentless.

She screamed, tried to fight it, to turn back.

But the vortex was stronger.
