Chapter 142 - Chapter 142: Total Defeat

Wes Elwin had some impression of her.

Levy gave a slight nod, confirming her identity, while also waiting for what he would say next.

"Your magic is good. Focus on improving your magical power."

After saying that, he turned as if to leave.

The reason Wes Elwin hadn't attacked her wasn't out of kindness or mercy — it was simply because he currently had no desire to fight.

Another reason was that Levy was far too weak.

Let alone Wes Elwin himself, even a small squad leader from Grimoire Heart could defeat her with ease.

This gap made Wes Elwin feel that fighting her was completely meaningless.

"What did you do to Levy?!"

A hoarse voice with a metallic edge suddenly came from not far away.

Gajeel appeared, his body covered in wounds — it was obvious he had just been through a fierce battle.

Judging from his exhausted appearance, he must have heard the commotion and rushed over despite his severe injuries.

Wes Elwin stopped and turned around, his gaze resting briefly on Gajeel.

"Gajeel, you're hurt so badly!" Levy cried as she looked at his scarred body. She hurried forward to support him, but Gajeel shoved her away, stumbling and falling to the ground himself.

Though his action was rough, she could still feel the concern hidden within it.

"Tch..." Gajeel couldn't bring himself to apologize, nor did he know how to express his complicated emotions.

He only frowned deeply and urged Levy "Get out of here. This guy isn't an ordinary mage. You're not his opponent."

"I'm not leaving. I'm staying to help you."

"Idiot!"

Gajeel was so angry that he nearly stomped his foot.

"Who are you calling an idiot?"

Levy shot back indignantly.

Watching these two bicker like lovers, Wes Elwin actually felt a bit awkward.

"Am I the third wheel here?"

He turned and started to leave, having no interest in being force-fed their romantic tension.

Before he could take more than a few steps, Gajeel's voice sounded again from behind him.

"Stop right there."

Wes Elwin couldn't be bothered to respond and kept walking.

But Gajeel wouldn't let it go so easily. He demanded.

"You're one of the invaders too, aren't you?"

The pain wracking his body made every word sound labored.

Wes Elwin turned back to look at him.

He nodded and admitted frankly,

"True. But I don't intend to fight. In your condition, you should get treatment as soon as possible."

"Don't look down on me! I'm the Iron Dragon!"

Even though he was gravely injured, Gajeel's words were still filled with fighting spirit.

Wes Elwin had already lost interest in Dragon Slayer Magic.

"If you were a competent mage, you'd be able to sense the gap between us."

"I don't care about that!" Gajeel roared, his right hand instantly transforming into a sharp iron blade as he charged at Wes Elwin.

"Idiot."

Wes Elwin said irritably, as his wand in his hand transformed into a razor-sharp longsword, slashing toward Gajeel.

"You're the idiot! I'm the Iron Dragon!"

Gajeel roared, but his iron blade was split cleanly in two under Wes Elwin's longsword. The blade continued its arc across his chest, and blood instantly burst forth.

"Gajeel!!" Levy screamed in terror as she rushed to his side, trying desperately to press her hands against the wound to stop the bleeding. However, Gajeel's body was abnormally hard, and the blood poured out like a spring, impossible to contain.

[His body is really tough. If that strike had landed on a normal person, they'd have been cut in half already.]

Wes Elwin had no intention of attacking further.

As for whether Gajeel could survive this ordeal — that would depend entirely on his own luck.

Behind him came the sound of Levy's sobbing, but Wes Elwin paid it no attention and continued walking toward the center of the island.

After reaching the second layer, he discovered that rare medicinal herbs were everywhere, forcing him to spend even more time exploring.

He also encountered some strange creatures.

Some were massive, like small moving mountains. Others were capable of basic communication with humans, displaying extraordinary intelligence.

"This really is a good place."

Wes Elwin couldn't help but sigh in admiration.

At that moment, a powerful and unfamiliar surge of magic erupted in the distance. It didn't belong to anyone from Grimoire Heart.

The intensity and nature of this magic instantly made Wes Elwin think of one of Fairy Tail's strongest — Gildarts.

"Only Gildarts could have magic like that. His Crash Magic seems pretty interesting."

Soon, his communicator began to flash, and Ultear's anxious voice came through:

"Go stop Gildarts! Several members of the Seven Kin of Purgatory have already been defeated by him!"

Unlike the original timeline where Bluenote held Gildarts back, this time there was no one of equal level to restrain him. Gildarts was cutting through them like a meat grinder.

The mages of Grimoire Heart were retreating again and again, unable to organize any effective counterattack.

Holding back the entire assault alone, he was like an invincible war god, inspiring both fear and awe.

"Where's the master?"

"He's gone to deal with Makarov! Stop asking questions and get over there now!" Ultear urged urgently.

Looks like Gildarts was putting tremendous pressure on Grimoire Heart.

"Got it."

After answering, Wes Elwin headed toward the area where the magical energy was flaring most violently.

Since he had already become a member of Grimoire Heart, he still had certain obligations to fulfill.

When he arrived, the members of Grimoire Heart and Fairy Tail stood clearly divided, each side forming their own battle lines, with the atmosphere so tense it felt like it could shatter.

The moment Wes Elwin appeared, everyone's attention turned to him — especially Fairy Tail's side, where the already explosive tension grew even heavier.

"So you're actually with Grimoire Heart!"

Natsu glared at Wes Elwin, flames blazing in his eyes, as if looking at a mortal enemy and ready to pounce at any moment.

Fortunately, Gildarts stopped him.

"Natsu, who is he?"

"He's the one who kidnapped Erza."

"So it's him."

While Fairy Tail rapidly exchanged information, Wes Elwin calmly observed the situation on Grimoire Heart's side.

The battlefield was utter chaos. Blood soaked the ground, and a thick metallic stench filled the air.

Zoldeo —

the powerful mage fused with the Capricorn Zodiac Spirit.

Hades' elite subordinate Kain Hikaru —a huge obese man of astonishing size.

And Zancrow.

All three were lying in pools of blood, their fates unknown.

Ultear and Meredy weren't here — they had likely gone to search for Zeref.

At another corner of the island, Azuma was locked in fierce combat with Erza.

Erza continuously switched between different armors, her techniques precise and flawless.

Azuma refused to yield, unleashing powerful magic attacks in an attempt to crush the Fairy Queen.
