Rico whistled as he walked up the stairs to the roof. Supergirl was still unconscious on his shoulder as he walked up to see the gathered group of his mercenaries and the vigilantes. It was a surprise that they were not fighting. But standing in between them was Batman with his back turned to the mercenaries.
"Oh? Here I was expecting to find far more damage." Rico pointed out as he stood at the top of the stairs and looked at them before walking forward and pulling Supergirl off his shoulder. But he did not get a chance to lay her down before a green mattress appeared and caught her.
"What happened to her?" Green Lantern asked with a frown as he brought her over to take a closer look.
"I knocked her out." Rico answered as he walked over to his mercenaries walking past Batman and his sidekick. Hawkgirl was wrapped up in vines and was restrained. But Ivy was nowhere to be seen. "Where did Ivy go?"
"She went to pick up Artemis. Artemis hit Wonder Woman in the direction of the docks. But it looked like she really wanted to kill her. So we sent Ivy to make sure that she did not. Apparently the two really got along." Coin explained as she glanced at Hawkgirl who struggled against her restraints as Rico walked past.
"Now is there a reason you showed up and attacked us?" Rico asked as he walked to a seat and sat down. "Especially since as far as the law is concerned we have not committed any crimes. It would look really bad if the Justice League attacked us without just cause."
"You-" Green Lantern frowned and went to respond but Batman raised his hand to stop him from speaking.
"No, we were not. My compatriots were just wondering who grabbed the Kents. But it does not matter anymore. Especially since the Kents have already found their way back to their farm." Batman explained with a grunt. Getting confused looks from both Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. "I apologize for any damage we might have caused."
"I could honestly care less. Nothing of ours was damaged. But you are going to have to deal with the docks and whatever happened over there." Rico answered with a shrug. "Now you already know I am not going to tell you who contracted me for that job. So feel free to head on out." Rico dismissed them with a wave of his hand.
There was the metal creaking of stairs and they all looked over as Artemis came up with Wonder Woman over her shoulder. Rico raised an eyebrow as he saw Wonder Woman's bloodied appearance. While only the blunt end of her greataxe had spots of blood on it. She clearly did not go in for the kill.
"Tough fight?" Rico asked as Artemis tossed the body onto the ground. But Green Lantern caught her with another green cushion.
"Yes actually. But she kept letting down defense like an amateur. She was clearly too angry to see clearly." Artemis answered as she glared at Green Lantern whose eyes were wide open in surprise as he brought the unconscious Wonder Woman over to the unconscious Supergirl.
Hawkgirl struggled against her restraints even more. In fact as she did there was a tearing followed by her being able to free her hand. She raised her mace into the air. She seemed surprised for a moment.
Artemis even tensed up getting ready to jump at her. But suddenly more vines shot out and grabbed her arm and pulled it back and a vine yanked her mace out of her hand. She growled as the vines tightened around her.
"That is rude. Didn't you just resolve our dispute?" Ivy asked as she followed Artemis up the stairs with a plant monster following her up. It walked up and tilted its head. Wonder Woman's sword, shield, and lasso fell on to the ground.
"Batman-" Green Lantern started but was interrupted by Batman.
"Green Lantern, grab Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman's weapons. It is time to leave." Batman ordered and walked forward grabbing the mace. Ivy and Artemis moved out of the way.
Green Lantern went to cut the vines from the ground with a projection of giant scissors. But Ivy just released her and glared at Green Lantern. "Don't cut my plants."
Green Lantern frowned as Hawkgirl tensed up and looked toward her mace in Batman's hand. But he just shook his head. Then Hawkgirl's wings bristled and then she flew up into the air while Batman and Robin jumped and disappeared between the buildings. "Sorry." Green Lantern apologized before flying away.
"What now?" Artemis asked.
Rico shrugged. "Nothing. We get back to our celebration. Is everyone okay?" Rico asked as he grabbed his drink that he set down earlier.
"Yeah… just scared the crap out of us. Although I felt like I would lose a limb to that kid if I actually managed to get a shot off. What the hell was that?" T-Dog asked with a whistle as he continued to watch them leave.
"A child trained as an assassin since childhood." Rico answered and then thought of something. "Actually… let's go ahead and search for any bugs or transmitters that were left behind."
Edgelady flinched and pulled out a device and immediately began walking around while Rico realized he should probably start being more cautious especially after this encounter. Batman and the Justice League are going to be watching him closely for now. But fortunately he knew that he could get away with this especially since there was no damage and they were operating on orders of the government.
"There are a few around. Do you want me to search the buildings as well?" Edgelady asked.
"Yeah, but pass out more of those to search and then repurpose them if you can. If you cannot then just destroy them." Rico ordered as he pulled himself up. "We are going to have to stay quiet regarding everything regarding the previous operation." He informed them.
