Chapter 365 - Chapter 365: Left Hand: Wings of Death, Right Hand: Roar of Time!

Born upon the foundation of Mew's genes, infused with a vast array of outstanding Pokémon genetic material, and further supplemented with a small number of genes from high-tier and even top-tier Legendary Pokémon—thus was created the strongest artificial legendary of all!

This was Lucas's Mewtwo 2.0!

The birth of Mewtwo itself was nothing short of a miracle—an experimental miracle born from the convergence of opportunity, coincidence, technology, and destiny!

What is a legendary?

Legendary Pokémon are the most exceptional lifeforms in this world, beings whose species and innate talents have reached the absolute ceiling of existence. In theory, so-called experimental technology should never be capable of artificially creating a Legendary Pokémon.

Yet Team Rocket succeeded.

They truly created a miracle—the artificial Legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo!

Mewtwo's potential was beyond all doubt. Using Mew's genes as a base, supplemented with countless excellent Pokémon genes to fill in gaps and optimize weaknesses, it was born as a weapon of combat.

Unlike Mew, Mewtwo was an artificial legend created for battle. Team Rocket's original intention in creating it was to use its power to conquer the world. As such, Mewtwo was a pure combat-type Pokémon, and most importantly—its potential was terrifyingly immense!

Perhaps at the moment of its birth, due to its short lifespan compared to ancient legends, Mewtwo's strength was indeed inferior to those legendary Pokémon that had existed for countless years. However, its growth potential was astonishing.

Despite being an artificial legend, it possessed Mega Evolution as a means of further amplifying its power—and not just one, but two Mega Evolution forms, allowing it to adapt to all kinds of opponents. This was the true terror of Mewtwo's combat prowess.

Such an artificial legend, such a miracle, should by all logic have been impossible to replicate.

What is a miracle?

Even with complete experimental data on Mewtwo, even if one were to perfectly replicate every step of its creation process, producing a second Mewtwo would still be nearly impossible.

That was the elusive nature of miracles!

And yet—Lucas succeeded!

Perhaps it was the world's favor, perhaps it was the rock-solid technological expertise of Professor Fuji and Colress laying the groundwork, perhaps it was simply destiny's coincidence.

Another miracle was born—Mewtwo 2.0!

This time, with the mature experience gained from the first Mewtwo, and with the addition of genes from other high-tier and top-tier Legendary Pokémon, Mewtwo 2.0 was far more perfect than its predecessor.

In every sense of the word!

Because of Mew's extraordinary adaptability, Fuji and Colress conducted even deeper research into Mew's genetic structure, replicating it more perfectly within Mewtwo 2.0.

As a result, Mew's flawless transformation ability was fully inherited by Mewtwo 2.0. Combined with the Yveltal genes within its body, this allowed Mewtwo Y's transformation into Yveltal to be so utterly convincing.

Whether it was the overwhelming pressure it exuded or Yveltal's unique ability, Dark Aura, everything was reproduced perfectly!

Even if the real Yveltal were placed before Mewtwo Y, even the most meticulous and discerning observer would be unable to spot a single flaw or difference.

"The legendary Yveltal? Just a counterfeit," Lance said coolly.

He continuously scanned the Yveltal before him, yet no matter how he observed it, he could not detect any abnormalities. After all…

Although he knew of Yveltal's existence, he had never truly seen it in person.

But that did not matter.

What mattered was that he knew the one before him was not the real Yveltal—and that was enough.

Just a fake. Why would Lance, the Dragon Master, ever be afraid of something like that?

Impossible!

"Dragonite, Blizzard!"

Lance launched the attack first, determined to test just how capable this Yveltal transformed from that small Mewtwo truly was.

The ancient Dragonite let out a low roar as frigid energy gathered in its mouth. In the next instant, a sky-filling blizzard erupted forth, a raging storm of ice and snow.

The howling, bone-chilling wind completely sealed off all possible avenues of evasion for Yveltal.

"Oblivion Wing," Lucas said with a light chuckle.

Dodge?

There was no need.

Although transforming into Yveltal meant its typing had shifted to Dark/Flying—making it weak to Ice-type attacks—

"SCREEEEE—!"

A piercing, sinister cry echoed through the air as Yveltal's body pulled back. Its wings folded before its chest as eerie crimson light shimmered across its entire form.

That was the energy of Yveltal's signature ability—Dark Aura!

Of course, Oblivion Wing was a Flying-type move and did not receive Dark Aura's boost—but did that really matter?

Dark Aura looked cool, after all! And activating an ability barely consumed any stamina.

A massive crimson beam burst forth, illuminating the surroundings as it surged head-on into the blizzard.

BOOM!

Oblivion Wing and Blizzard collided violently. Despite Blizzard being super effective against Flying-types, after only a brief clash, the crimson beam tore straight through the storm, ripping it apart!

"Dragonite!" Lance's pupils contracted as he shouted sharply.

The colossal Dragonite's claws glowed with emerald light as it slashed forward with Dragon Claw, striking directly into the incoming Oblivion Wing.

The beam exploded on impact, the resulting shockwave forcing even the massive Dragonite to stagger backward several steps.

"So strong!" Zinnia exclaimed in surprise, staring at the sinister-looking Yveltal.

It had transformed from such a small body—yet its power was this overwhelming?

That was Lance's ancient Dragonite, after all!

"That Dragonite is already extremely close to high-tier Legendary level," N said, brows furrowed. "Even though Dragonite specializes in physical attacks, this is still…"

After the battle in Vermilion City, the five of them had gained a deep understanding of Lance's strength.

Because of its massive size, the ancient Dragonite lacked some agility compared to Lance's ace Dragonite—but in terms of sheer power, it was even more terrifying!

Back then, it had taken N's Zekrom just to hold it back long enough for them to gang up and defeat it.

"And according to Lucas, this Mewtwo isn't even fully grown yet…" Blue rubbed his forehead weakly.

He could already see it—this was yet another monster-tier Pokémon.

Not even an adult yet, and already this strong. The difficulty of defeating Lucas just went up another level…

"Dragon Claw!" Lance ordered calmly once more.

Though the previous exchange had been unfavorable, it was merely a probing attack.

The ancient Dragonite beat its wings and surged into the air, charging straight toward Yveltal.

The oppressive force brought by its towering size was overwhelming. Although Yveltal was not small among avian Pokémon, compared to the ancient Dragonite, it looked downright petite.

But power was never determined by size alone!

"Brave Bird!"

Lucas had no intention of avoiding the clash.

Mewtwo Y's transformations did not copy the raw stats of the original Pokémon. Even though it could use their abilities and signature moves—thanks to possessing their genes—the base power still depended on Mewtwo Y's own stats.

And Mewtwo Y's strength was anything but lacking.

Yveltal screeched as blue flames ignited around its body, transforming it into a majestic divine bird.

The divine bird spread its wings and charged straight at the ancient Dragonite, which showed no fear at all as its massive claws came crashing down.

Brave Bird and Dragon Claw collided, an invisible shockwave rippling outward.

"Dragon Pulse!" Lance barked, his battle instincts keenly detecting that the Dragonite's claws were beginning to be suppressed.

"Oblivion Wing!" Lucas's voice rang out even faster.

Yveltal forced the ancient Dragonite back, folded its wings once more, and eerie red light surged forth.

A dazzling, otherworldly crimson beam tore through the air just as Dragon Pulse was fired.

BOOM!

The two attacks brushed past one another, each striking its target simultaneously.

The ancient Dragonite let out a cry of pain as it was blasted backward by Oblivion Wing, the damage far from insignificant.

Yveltal, too, let out a brief, uncomfortable groan—but its expression returned to normal almost instantly.

That was the effect of Oblivion Wing: while dealing damage, it siphoned the opponent's life force to replenish itself!

It was essentially the Flying-type version of Dream Eater—except without the harsh prerequisite of the target being asleep. Far superior in every way.

"Dragon Rush!" Lance gave another decisive command.

He had to find an opening, and he couldn't allow Lucas to press the advantage.

The ancient Dragonite roared, forcibly stabilizing itself as terrifying energy erupted from its body, transforming it into a ferocious draconic form.

"It's useless," Lucas said as the corners of his mouth slowly lifted into a slightly eerie smile. "My Mewtwo is far more versatile than you can imagine, Lance."

"Shadow Force!"

Shadow Force? Was that Phantom Force?

Lance froze for a split second—what move was Shadow Force?

Then his eyes widened in shock.

Yveltal, the Dragonite's charging target, retreated while stalling for time, its body once again enveloped in dense, ghostly light.

In barely two breaths, a gold-and-black Pokémon resembling a centipede appeared!

"How is this possible?!" Lance stared in disbelief, his composure finally cracking.

The entire Silver Arena erupted in gasps, for any trainer familiar with regional myths instantly recognized that Pokémon.

"Giratina!"

That's right—it was Giratina, ruler of the Distortion World from Sinnoh's creation legends!

Giratina's centipede-like body swayed as it moved to intercept the ancient Dragonite. Just before the two collided, Giratina's solid form suddenly turned hazy and indistinct.

To everyone's shock, the ancient Dragonite's Dragon Rush passed straight through Giratina's body—completely missing!

Shadow Force!

A move that placed the user into an untouchable, unseen subspace!

The ancient Dragonite froze midair, its draconic energy dissipating as confusion flickered across its face.

"Send it off, Mewtwo," Lucas said with a bright smile.

Giratina's form solidified once more, ghostly energy surging as it slammed heavily into the Dragonite's back.

Caught completely off guard, the ancient Dragonite cried out in pain as its massive body lost control and plummeted toward the ground.

Lance frowned deeply. What in the world was this absurdity?

But it wasn't over yet!

"Roar of Time!"

A beautiful blue divine radiance shone as Giratina transformed once more. A majestic deep-blue Pokémon stepped upon the air itself, raising its head high as dreamlike purple energy condensed.

An overwhelming pressure flooded the battlefield!

"Dragonite!" Lance's expression changed as he shouted urgently—this attack was no joke.

The ancient Dragonite gritted its teeth, desperately trying to stabilize itself, but it was far too difficult after being struck by Shadow Ambush.

BOOM!

A brilliant, deep-purple beam descended from the heavens, slamming into the Dragonite just as it managed to steady itself.

Roar of Time!

Under the terrifying impact, the ancient Dragonite was battered relentlessly before being smashed straight into the ground.

The attack detonated violently, hurricane-like shockwaves sweeping across the stadium, even reaching the stands.

Ferocious winds forced spectators to lower their heads, shielding their eyes.

Dialga hovered serenely in midair, faint blue divine light surrounding its body, its majestic draconic eyes gazing down below.

Noble, imposing, untouchable—like a god, like a demon.

Lucas's white robe fluttered violently in the gale, its hem snapping in the wind. Yet under the protection of Arceus's power, he remained unmoved, calmly observing the "Dialga" in the sky.

"Not bad," he mused, chin resting on his hand. "No matter what, it really is a god-tier existence. That sheer presence is something other legends can barely imitate."

"Well, even if I can't go and capture the Sinnoh Creation Trio, my precious Mewtwo 2.0 is more than capable. In the future, it'll definitely surpass the originals."

His smile was utterly unrestrained.

He was extremely satisfied with Mewtwo Y's debut performance.
