Lillian eyed Leo as if he was pointing out something that should have been obvious from the start since they learned she was staying here.
"Of course. The situation might demand me to leave without time to pack so I had everything ready," Lillian proudly beamed. Her husband suddenly kissed her and she felt like he was praising her again.
Leonard took her suitcase and carried the drinks she wanted to bring. When he said it was a four-hour ride, Lillian decided to bring with her the remaining stock of snacks. She had to have something to do when she got bored in the car.
"You look refreshed," one said at Leonard when they reached where the car was parked. She recognized it as the voice of the one that her husband called a doctor.
"What are you talking about? You fucking pest," Leonard retorted with a straight face as if not getting that his doctor was implying that he looked refreshed because he must have had sex with his wife.
