The silence hung in the air and for a while, the omega couldn't breathe. He glanced at the empty restaurant and the bodyguards at the entrance.
"Don't bother escaping," the old man said, placing the porcelain cup to his lips. He took a tentative sip, humming in approval at the taste.
"Bitter just like I wanted it," he murmured.
Seungho stared quietly at him.
"Your father is a close friend of mine," Chairman Jang started. "We share... common interests."
He tapped the rim of his cup. "When he recommended you to me, I didn't refuse. Do you know why?"
Seungho shook his head.
"I saw a young man with potential. Someone who could grow into much more if guided properly."
He set his cup down with a soft click. "I should have remembered that like everyone else, you're weak."
Seungho's fingers curled tightly into fists beneath the table.
"You've disappointed me, Park Seungho."
The words cut cleanly, leaving his chest tight. "I'm sorry, Chairman."
