The test started, and Anne pointed into the crowd.
"Both of you, come out."
Two boys stepped into the ring, their eyes darting around nervously.
Mr. Jang nodded and Seokjoo rang the bell. "Start. You have fifteen minutes."
"If, after the designated time, both of you are still alive," Anne said, looking at them, "you'll be killed."
She nodded and the fight commenced.
Jihoon watched as the boys circled the ring, sizing each other up. Then with a yell, they lunged at each other, collapsing to the floor.
He briefly looked around, wondering who his opponent would be. His gaze landed on the boy who had spoken up earlier.
Like the rest, he had silver hair and was dressed in black shorts but his silver eyes shone with a defiance that the others didn't have.
The other met his gaze and waved at him.
Jihoon hesitantly waved back.
