Chapter 215: The Bacchus Galaxy
Toriko's World, the Moon.
"Atashino, look! What do you think of the space-faring vehicle I brought back?"
As soon as Kenji returned, he showed off the Astral Express. On the moon's surface, Kenji had constructed a station to park it. Akivili would be using Himeko's train later, so this one was given to him. With the big boss of the Trailblaze back, the Nameless would surely prosper, and the fleet would be re-established.
"A train... can travel in space?"
Atashino felt her horizons had been broadened. A train soaring through the sea of stars... this was simply too incredible.
"Of course it can."
"Want to come up and experience it?"
Atashino nodded and entered the interior carriage of the Astral Express. It had everything one could need... except for a Pom-Pom. It was a pity; he had wanted to invite Pom-Pom, but the idea was met with collective resistance from Akivili and the others.
"The environment is very cozy. It has the... flavor of stories," Atashino said, her fingertips lightly touching the furnishings in the carriage. The people who had been active here before must have been very united, their relationships harmonious.
"Yes. It's called 'The Story of the Trailblaze'." The Nameless of the Path of Trailblaze... their relationships were iron-clad. They were like a family.
"We're setting off for space! This is a dream come true for me!" Himeko said with a smile. Her dream as a student had been to soar through the sea of stars and explore the mysteries of the universe, but she had later become a Valkyrie to fight the Honkai and never had the chance.
"Kenji, what is the world outside the false sky like?" Raiden Makoto asked curiously. She had gone back to see her sister for a bit and then returned. Barbatos and Morax had both retired; of course, she had to follow the trend. All she could do was leave the hard work to Ei.
"Outside the false sky... I only know that it's very dangerous and not beautiful," Buer shook her head. The first-generation gods were all in a "retired" state. She had also come over for a vacation. Nahida had grown a little, too.
"Outside Teyvat, countless planets are shattered. The false sky is Teyvat's protective shield," Kenji said, thinking of the images of the Pyro Archon breaking the false sky. There was no life, only a dead silence, like a forbidden zone of life.
"But now, we don't have to worry. That civil engineer, Big Sis Furina, has been building walls. Teyvat is very safe."
Kenji didn't ask how many layers there were now. Furina must be addicted to building walls.
"Furina really has patience," Buer said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. All seven Archons knew that Furina was building walls outside. Was it really that addictive?
The Astral Express started up, beginning its trailblazing journey through the Toriko universe. Wherever they went, they ate.
A few days later.
"Kenji, come and look at this!"
Hearing Atashino's voice, Kenji put down his poker cards and came to the window.
"Good heavens. One look and you know this is related to fine wine," Kenji's eyebrow rose.
Planets shaped like wine glasses, barrels, and jars... this massive galaxy was formed from all things related to alcohol. The mist drifting out... you didn't even have to think to know it was alcoholic.
"The Bacchus Galaxy. I heard Don Slime mention it. It's a rare holy land for fine wine in this universe," Kenji said.
The Bacchus Islands on Earth... there was just no comparison to the Bacchus Galaxy.
"Are those beasts... drunk? What a familiar sight," Atashino said, noticing many cosmic beasts that could be easily "looted" (picked up).
Creatures as massive as asteroids were floating in space, their faces flushed red. The butterfly-winged Butterfly Yak, the all-green Watermelon Crab, the planet-moving Star-Lifting Kong, the alcohol-loving Red Diamond Wine Pterosaur...
There were countless drunken creatures. You could see the same situation on the Bacchus Islands back on Earth.
"Earth has an atmosphere. The Bacchus Star has an alcohol-sphere." Kenji named the atmosphere of the Bacchus Star. This special atmosphere, formed by the evaporation of alcohol, would put anyone who inhaled a certain amount into a state of drunkenness. The "proof" of this alcohol-sphere was, at minimum, 180-proof.
Therefore, he didn't have to worry about being attacked by the beasts at all. They were all dead drunk.
"Then can we enter?" Raiden Makoto frowned. She couldn't hold her liquor well.
"We don't need to pass through the alcohol-sphere. We can just open a spatial portal directly."
Kenji opened a portal, and Atashino and the other women followed him through.
"Such a rich smell of alcohol." Although there was air, the air was also permeated with an inescapable smell of liquor.
"Crunch... It's all wine! As expected of the Bacchus Star." Kenji picked a dark red "Red Wine Fruit" from a tree. He took a bite, and the juice was a top-grade red wine.
"If you can't hold your liquor, then just drink a little," Kenji advised.
In the Brandy River, a giant carp with red scales leaped out of the water. This was a type of Wine Carp. The Wine Carp living in the different waters of fine wine all had flesh that carried the flavor and aroma of their corresponding liquor.
"Hic! Kenji-kun, you're here."
Hearing the familiar voice, Kenji turned his head. A drunken Jiro walked over. Beside him were Setsuno and the Battle Wolf King Guinness. Setsuno wasn't drunk, but Guinness was walking unsteadily. It looked like it had had too much.
Kenji wasn't surprised at all to see Jiro here. With his love for alcohol, there was no way he would miss a place like this.
"Master, Grandmaster Setsuno, how long have you been here?" Kenji asked with a laugh.
"A few days, maybe. This is a really good place! I was getting tired of the wine on the Bacchus Islands. There's a lot of good wine here that I've never had before," Jiro said after thinking for a moment. In the Bacchus Galaxy, there were many Bacchus Stars. If he wanted to drink every kind of wine, it would take a lot of time. He had already decided. He was going to live here for the next year. He wasn't very interested in other ingredients. The Bacchus Galaxy was the place for him to explore.
"It is indeed a good place."
Himeko had already started drinking. She really loved this world. When she was a teacher at St. Freya Academy, her salary was only so much. If she wanted to drink high-end fine wine, she had to save up. In this world, she could drink whatever fine wine she wanted. This was the life.
"Where are Uncle Ichiryu and the others?"
Ichiryu and the other senior powerhouses were the first to enter space.
"I don't know. They're probably in other star systems," Jiro shook his head. He liked to drink, so he had come here via a Gourmet Shell. Setsuno and Guinness were his travel companions.
"Don't worry about them. Even in the vast, boundless universe, as long as they don't encounter any particularly tricky enemies, Ichi-kun and the others will be fine," Setsuno said with a smile. The power of Food Luck was still very useful in space. If you wanted to go to the Final Land, Food Luck was a must.
Don Slime was overjoyed to have entered space. With Ichiryu's strength and his compatibility with him, they could have been walking sideways through the universe long ago. Instead, they had been stuck on Earth for hundreds of years. Only by coming to space could their strength truly grow. It wanted to improve so badly.
Ichiryu: See? You're being impatient again.
