Chapter 5 - 5. THE UNHOLY HOUR

Novia lay wide awake, haunted by the words John had uttered outside the cemetery. Those words echoed in her mind.

Her gut whispered a terrifying truth - this wasn't John. It was something else, inhuman.

John had fallen asleep. Novia too, crawled into bed, hesitantly.

At 3:00 AM, John started screaming and growling wildly. She jolted up. "John! What's wrong? Why are you screaming? Mom! Dad! Hurry! Something's wrong with John!"

John started to grab and scratch bedsheets. Everyone just stood there, afraid, seeing him do all the things that only a powerful entity could do. His eyeballs disappeared, leaving hollow white eyes. His lips and fingers darkened, turning pitch black.

He gave a death stare to Novia and screamed:

"You are going to die..

You are going to die..

You are going to die..

You are going to die..

You are going to die..

You are going to die.."

He said this in 6 different voices that were absolutely demonic. Here's when it hit them all, it wasn't their child, that was a demon in disguised as a human. The cross on the wall fell on the ground. Mary splashed holy water, reciting Bible verses with trembling lips. He screamed louder at every verse, as if burning from inside.

By the final verse, his screams quieted. He collapsed into stillness. Asleep, but not safe.

The night had passed, but the darkness hadn't. The demon still lingered, inside John.

By morning, Daniel and Mary rushed John to the church. There, they met Father Smithel Correy.

He looked at John and said grimly, "This boy isn't ordinary. He carries the power to destroy everything you love."

He insisted on an exorcism. It was the only way to drive out what lurked inside.

Father Smithel said,

"I will come tonight at your house with my team to hold the exorcism process."

They returned home, preparing for the long night. By 8 PM, the priest and his team arrived.

John was tied to the bed with chains. The priest lit a candle, opened the holy Bible in his hand and began the sacred ritual.

Father Smithel held a crucifix in one hand, the Bible in the other, chanting sacred verses with firm resolve.

John grinned, a slow, sinister smile that didn't belong to a child.

Slowly as the process went on, John lost all his senses and something else took over.

But as the candle flickered for the last time, the chains around John began to crack on their own.
