Chapter 6: The Thug's Assault, and an Unforeseen End!
"Huff, huff, huff!" Yukino leaned against an iron door, breathing rapidly. In her hand, she held a table leg wrapped in tape. "What is all this?"
Her mind was in collapse. First, she encountered a monster, then entered this game, being chased not only by zombies… but also by people.
Just now, after choosing 'Yes', she arrived here. A person with dyed yellow hair, dressed like a thug, was beside her. Later, they encountered zombies. The two fled and hid in a warehouse. There, the thug broke down, muttering incoherent words. Finally, he grabbed a knife and lunged at her, wanting to assault her.
Fortunately, she resisted, blocking the knife with the table leg, and escaped. She had been running for dozens of minutes, almost surrounded and eaten alive. She was physically and mentally exhausted, her legs weak, her hands sore. Not losing her sanity was enough to show her mental fortitude.
"That person was truly insane," she thought, fear still in her heart.
"Hey! You're in here, aren't you?" a frivolous voice came from next door. Clang. The iron door next to hers was kicked open. "Tsk, not here."
"!!!" Yukino's heart pounded. It's that lunatic! Her trembling hands gripped the table leg. She dared not make a sound. The footsteps walked past, then disappeared. Did he leave...? She let out a long breath.
Crack! Boom! The classroom window suddenly shattered. The madman stood on a broken bed, his eyes fixed on her. "I found you."
"!!!" She reacted, wanting to open the door and escape.
"Smack!" His hand pressed against the door. He held a knife. "Don't come any closer!" she frantically swung the table leg. Unfortunately, her arm was weak, and the swing was soft. He easily caught it and snatched it away.
His gaze turned to her, pointing the knife. "What a beautiful girl. I didn't expect to play with such a top-notch high schooler before I die, hahahaha!"
"You bastard criminal!" she rebuked. This only aroused his desire.
"Hahaha, good scolding. Too bad there's no law here. Don't worry, I'll make you feel good, and then we can die together." He reached out, trying to grab her.
Tears welled up in her eyes. She didn't want to die, and certainly not like this. Who can… save me… In her mind, the figure that released lightning, and those striking golden eyes, appeared.
"I won't allow you to bully my club members." A cold voice sounded.
"Hmm? Who are you? Let go!" The thug's hand was grabbed by a strong palm.
Yukino turned and saw those familiar golden eyes and the expressionless Ren.
"You bastard! Let go!" the thug swung his left fist at him.
"Be careful!" Yukino, in a rush, kicked upwards with her right leg.
"Hiss—oh!!!!" Right on target. The thug immediately knelt in pain.
"…" Ren silently watched. The feeling of shattered eggs must be painful. He reached out and pulled the stunned Yukino to his side.
"You… two… bastards!" The thug stood up, picked up a table leg, and swung it at Ren.
"It's good for scum like you to die here," Ren shook his head. Holding her hand, he moved past the thug, opened the door, and left.
"What!!!" The thug was dumbfounded; his body couldn't move. Black, swamp-like substances clung to him, and he felt his life force being devoured.
It was the Yin Thunder. In addition to releasing black lightning, it also possessed the power to corrode and devour life force.
