Chapter 60 - The Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps

Chapter 60: The Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki

This gave Ren a wake-up call. In the future, if he needed to become a god, he should definitely not use the power of faith. It was clear how difficult it was to separate oneself from its entanglements.

"If that's the case, we'll need the Demon Slayer Corps to lure Muzan out," he had a plan. "Shinobu…"

"Ren-kun, just call me Shinobu."

"Alright, Shinobu. Can you contact the Master of the Demon Slayer Corps?"

"Master? As expected, Ren-kun knows a lot." She sighed, then agreed. "I understand. I will inform Oyakata-sama." She summoned her Kasugai Crow and relayed the information.

In the courtyard of the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, the Hashira were gathered. The Master had suddenly announced a Pillar Meeting.

"Why isn't Shinobu here?" Mitsuri Kanroji, the Love Hashira, looked around.

"Hmph, how disrespectful to Oyakata-sama," the Serpent Hashira, Obanai Iguro, reprimanded.

"Haha, perhaps she has something important," the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, laughed heartily.

"Being late is not flamboyant," the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, commented.

Among them, three others remained aloof: Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira, staring at a small bird; Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, silent and cold; and Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, his hands clasped, murmuring "Amitābha."

"Tch, nothing is more important than Oyakata-sama's words!" the short-tempered Wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, said unhappily.

"Sanemi, you must not speak ill of your comrades," a gentle voice came from inside the room.

"Oyakata-sama!" all the Pillars immediately knelt.

A long-haired man with the upper half of his face covered in a curse-mark that rendered him blind slowly walked out, leaning on his wife's arm. It was the head of the Demon Slayer Corps, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, and his wife, Amane. His voice was gentle and comforting.

His gentle gaze swept over everyone, prompting them to stand. They stood quietly, knowing he was about to say something important.

"Shinobu encountered an Upper Rank demon, Upper Moon Two, Doma."

"What! She encountered an Upper Rank?" everyone was alarmed. It had been a long time since they had killed an Upper Moon.

"Then Shinobu, she…" Mitsuri was worried.

The others also had sharp eyes. Their unity made Kagaya pleased. He smiled faintly. "Upper Moon Two, Doma, is dead."

"!!!!" This news was even more explosive. The Twelve Kizuki were the strongest. The Upper Six were far stronger than the Lower Six. Upper Moon Two, his abilities were second only to the Demon King and Upper Moon One. Shinobu killed him by herself? This was too incredible.

Kagaya's next words put an end to their speculation. "He was not killed by Shinobu."

"Then who killed him?" Sanemi asked impatiently.

In reality, Kagaya also didn't know. He could only gather from Shinobu's fragmented words that some people she knew had the ability to deal with Muzan.

"Ren! You scoundrel, you really didn't take me?!"

"Didn't you say you could fly yourself?"

"Scoundrel Ren!"

Just then, voices were heard arguing in the sky. Everyone was about to look up when Ren and the others had already landed in the courtyard. Exusiai and Esdeath were still wearing their short skirts.

"Who's there!" All the Pillars drew their Nichirin Blades and quickly surrounded them.
