Chapter 1 - Traveling to the prehistoric era of another world

When Gideon came to his senses, he felt a chilly sensation all over his body. Opening his eyes, he found himself lying naked in a wilderness.

The surrounding area was all dry, yellowish-brown land. The sky was overcast and low-hanging, while the distant firmament was purplish-red, stretching endlessly. Gideon struggled to get up, but found that he couldn't muster any strength at all, not even moving a finger. A series of questions popped into his mind: "What's going on? Where is this place? Why am I here?" Unfortunately, apart from his bare body and the weeds around him, he knew nothing else...

As Gideon was having wild thoughts and trying to regain control of his body, an animal was walking towards him from a distance. It stood on two feet and was covered with long hair; it should be an orangutan or an ape. When it got closer, Gideon realized that it wasn't covered with long hair all over its body. The hair was concentrated on its limbs, while the hair on its body was relatively sparse.

Then, as Gideon's gaze moved upward, he clearly saw its face. Its chin protruded forward, revealing a set of buck teeth. It had a broad brow ridge and deep-set eye sockets. In addition, it wore leaves around its waist and held a big wooden stick in its hand. With this, Gideon was certain that it was a human. Because Gideon remembered his primary school teacher saying that those who can use tools are humans, and those who can't are animals. Finally, judging from its appearance, he inferred that it was not only a human but also a primitive human. "Unbelievable, how could Gideon meet a primitive human?"

Gideon still couldn't move, and he think in his heart: "Don't see me, don't see me!" But this primitive human was obviously coming for Gideon. It gradually drew near, then waved its hands and shouted "Wah-wah" wildly.

Gideon suspected that he was dreaming, but the wind blew, wandering over his naked body. Then, the clods of earth rolled up by the wind flew into his mouth, nostrils, and onto his lips. The taste was very unpleasant, yet so real. "It's impossible, this must be a dream," Gideon clung to his last hope, quickly closed his eyes, hoping that when he opened them again, he would be lying on his own sofa at home.

When Gideon opened his eyes again, there were already seven or eight pairs of eyes looking down at him. All of them had protruding chins, broad brow ridges, and deep-set eye sockets. These disheveled heads were densely packed above Gideon's head, blinking their eyes and chattering in an unintelligible language. There were even two of them whose saliva dripped onto Gideon's body.

These guys were chattering and gesturing at the same time. Gideon couldn't understand a word. In fact, Gideon guessed that they themselves couldn't understand clearly either. (No one could understand this kind of thing; it was more dialectal than any dialect Gideon had ever heard.)

Gideon opened his eyes and then immediately closed them. It wasn't because he was afraid that their saliva would drip into his eyes. In fact, at this time, Gideon's body was gradually regaining consciousness, and he could move. But Gideon decided to play dead.

However, as soon as Gideon closed his eyes, he heard a roar, so he had to open his eyes in fear. This was the largest guy among them, over 1.8 meters tall. His upper body was extremely strong, while his lower body was relatively narrow, forming an inverted triangle. He had a broad back and a narrow waist, and especially his arms were incredible. His biceps, under the cover of long hair, were like several extra-large sweet potatoes, and together with the bones, they were thicker than Gideon's thighs. This guy was so strong and outstanding that he got Gideon's first name - Biggs.

Biggs banged his pectoral muscles a few times, then roared at the sky. Gideon didn't even dare to close his eyes, fearing that Biggs would tear him to pieces. Biggs' chest hair was in an inverted triangle, as if it had been deliberately plucked. Later, Gideon learned that this originated from a kind of worship of the female genitals. Primitive humans were all like this, because of the mystery of childbirth and the stimulation of sexual intercourse, they extremely worshipped that part of women. But at that time, Gideon didn't think so much. He was very scared, afraid that they would treat him as an unexpected delicacy, so he had to open his eyes wide. He thought he should try to get close to them, but he didn't dare to say anything casually, fearing that it would bring him death.

At this time, one of the guys threw down a few leaves and vines, and then this group of guys laughed "Ho-ho" together. The sound was very strange, a bit like the grunting of a pig, but the tone was higher and thinner.

Gideon knew that he was being laughed at. Since he was born from his mother's womb, he had never been naked in front of so many people. Moreover, these were a group of primitive humans. Gideon was very annoyed, but he didn't dare to make any disrespectful moves.

Gideon got up, picked up the leaves and vines. These leaves were very large, and just three of them could cover his front body down to his waist. (Everyone can imagine that the situation was as weird as it could be: a modern person with bare buttocks, among a group of primitive humans, tying leaves around his waist.)

Gideon covered his lower body with the leaves, then tied them with vines, and took a few steps on the spot. He felt that his buttocks were chilly, so he unconsciously covered his anus with one hand to block the wind. (It was very uncomfortable; it was the first time he wore so little in broad daylight.) The primitive humans laughed "Ho-ho" again. It could be seen that they were really happy, perhaps because Gideon looked weird, different from them. In fact, Gideon was taller than ordinary primitive humans. Most of them were about 155-165 cm tall, and Gideon was half a head taller than them, except for that Biggs. In addition, there was another one with long legs, a short upper body, and a strong lower body. He was slightly taller than Gideon, but his thigh roots reached Gideon's ribs. In Gideon's opinion, he was a bit deformed, with extremely disproportionate proportions. To put it bluntly, he looked a bit like an ostrich.

After a round of "chattering" discussions among them, Biggs walked towards Gideon, stretched out a strong arm, easily lifted Gideon up, put him on his shoulder, and carried him away. This man was extremely strong. Gideon knew that resistance was completely useless, so he could only hope in his heart that they were not cannibals who specialized in eating human flesh or something like that.

Gideon lay on Biggs' shoulder, which was very broad, so he didn't feel painful from being pressed, but rather felt a little comfortable. He took the opportunity to open his eyes wide to observe the surroundings. At this time, the sky had darkened, and his vision couldn't extend further. He only knew that this was a huge wilderness. Looking around, there was no sign of human habitation, let alone cities, roads, and other products of modern civilization. There was a mountain not far away, and they were heading in that direction. Gideon looked back and saw the sun. If this was the sunset, then they were walking west.

"Where on earth is this place?" In fact, in the city where Gideon lived, even in the surrounding areas, there couldn't be such a place. Where exactly was this? Could it be the inland wilderness? Then who brought Gideon to the inland wilderness? He didn't have any deep hatred with anyone. Could it be that he was brought to a certain place as a species to maintain ecological balance? Or was it some kind of experiment? Just like what humans often do. But why was Gideon chosen? Gideon continued to reason: Could it be because he was a reclusive person, and no one would look for him even if he disappeared? ...

Gideon quickly denied this idea. That was impossible. How could there still be primitive humans in this world? Gideon looked at those guys holding sticks. They were still giggling at him, and it didn't look like they were pretending.

At this time, Gideon caught a glimpse of the prey they were carrying on their backs. It was an animal as big as a dog, but looked like a horse, with spotted stripes on its back. It was very similar to the primitive horse Gideon had seen in a book. This was really surprising. Could it be that Gideon had really come to the prehistoric world? Just at this moment, a terrifying roar came from a distance. Gideon had never heard such a sound before, which made people's hair stand on end. At the same time, the wind beside his ears became stronger. It turned out that Biggs had quickened his pace.

Gideon was eager to know where he was. He racked his brains to connect the knowledge he knew with this unknown world, trying to get some clues to let himself know more about this world. He had never tried so hard to think...
