Chapter 262: Green: A Leaping Clown, How Laughable
May 15, 2024 Author: Samsung Charmander (Author Name)
"Brother Green, is it really okay to do this?"
At the Viridian Gym, facing the main entrance, a Spiky-Haired Youth with his hands in his pockets was slowly walking out. His expression was stern and his eyes were downcast, projecting a calm and steady demeanor.
The one in control of Gary's body was still Green, and the one asking the question was naturally Gary, who was in the Soul Space.
Although he had been thrashed by Mewtwo and his morale had long since shattered, he still managed to focus his mind on the battlefield.
This was a battle between top-level experts. Whether it was Mewtwo against Arcanine, or Beedrill against Scizor, he had to burn the images into his memory even if he went blind. This would be of great benefit to his future growth.
Now that no one was around, Gary finally couldn't help but ask.
He was completely baffled. No matter what, was there any need to expose the name 'Green'? Wasn't this just blatantly leading Giovanni to suspect that two people were sharing one body?
"It's not a big problem. I exposed myself on purpose."
A profound, inscrutable smile appeared on Green's lips; he had everything under control.
Becoming the strongest in the world, restoring his physical body, defeating Red...
In Green's mind, while these things were important, they weren't the most important.
There was only one thing that was most important.
Why had characters from the video game world like them transmigrated into this real world?
What was truly hidden behind this world?
And what would happen in the future?
"Hmph, an idiot like Red who only knows how to battle and thinks about competing with me all day would never consider these things. This time, my thinking is far superior to his!"
Green curled his lip in satisfaction, secretly thinking that Red was inadequate.
"Using Team Rocket's vast resources is far more convenient than investigating on my own."
Then, Green chuckled softly, confident in his plan. With a suspicious character like Giovanni, as long as he threw out a hint, the other party was bound to go down that rabbit hole, desperately trying to dig out the answer.
When that time came, he would just intercept the results midway.
Nowadays, who needs to take the exam themselves? You just change the top scorer's name to your own when the papers are collected.
"But... the current Giovanni is no simple man. Be careful this doesn't blow up in your face..."
Gary quietly warned him. If the previous Giovanni was a conventionally powerful villain who only instilled a sense of fear in him, then ever since Giovanni broke free from Mewtwo's obsession, the current Giovanni gave him the feeling that he could accomplish anything...
"Hmph, the greater the reward, the greater the risk."
Green replied nonchalantly, though his expression was somewhat grave.
He was well aware that his appearance today, and revealing so much information in front of Giovanni, could very well forge an unprecedentedly powerful enemy.
From this moment on, this Giovanni was no longer someone anyone could control.
"But, if this world is just a single-player game, then there's no challenge at all..."
Green suddenly said in a low voice, raising one hand into a claw before him as if grasping the world. A crazed smile had, at some point, appeared on his handsome face.
When it came to madness and ferocity, Green was more intense than anyone!
"I, Green, will sooner or later be the strongest existence in this world! Red, you will only be a stepping stone under my feet when I become the strongest!"
Gary: "..."
*Why do I get the feeling you're constantly comparing yourself to that man?*
"As for Giovanni? No matter how much he changes, there's nothing to be afraid of... Of course, if he could get all the villains from every region under his control, then he might pose a slight threat to me... But even Giovanni could never achieve that."
After saying this, Green just gave a light laugh, thinking he had let his imagination run wild.
"Brother Green, why do I feel like you're planting death flags like crazy today? Please stop, it's scaring me..."
Gary said weakly.
At the entrance of the Viridian Gym.
Ash, Brock, and Misty were still waiting boredly by the main gate.
A while ago, the inside of the Gym had been a chaotic spectacle. First, dark clouds had gathered, then explosions had gone off one after another, filling the air with a murderous atmosphere. But now, it had all vanished like smoke, and the sky was clear, as if nothing had happened at all.
Then, Ash and Red had swapped places. The former had his soul tempered in the Soul Space before swapping back, leading to the present moment.
"Hey, Gary! You brat, you're finally..."
Seeing the Gym door open and the Spiky-Haired Youth walk out, Ash quickly went up to him, prepared to give him a good knock on the head. But halfway through his sentence, he suddenly felt that the atmosphere was a bit off.
Although it was the same stupid face, the feeling Gary usually gave him was one that made him want to smack him on the head—a kind of metaphysical sense, much like how Brock could identify a disguised Nurse Joy.
But the person before him didn't give off that feeling. Instead, he projected the profound air of a master, making one want to explore the truths of the universe with him.
"Greetings, Master Green."
Ash quickly changed his tune and greeted him.
"Greetings, Master."
"Greetings, Master."
Behind him, Brock and Misty didn't dare to be careless. They quickly followed suit and greeted him, hoping to make their faces familiar.
They were old confidants, so they naturally knew that aside from Brother Red in Ash's body, both Gary and Blue also had an old master residing within them.
The ancestral masters of Pallet Town.
Green nodded in acknowledgment.
"By the way, did that guy Gary get his soul shattered or something? How come he's not coming out?" Ash couldn't help but ask.
"He was just beaten into seclusion," Green replied faintly.
He wasn't lying. Gary's morale had indeed been shattered.
But if he could bounce back from this, Gary's strength would rise to a new level.
"Is this Gym that strong...?" Ash's eyes widened.
One had to remember that Gary was a man who had obtained ten badges. Even if half of them were from weak gyms, his strength was nothing to scoff at. And he was beaten into seclusion?
"Why don't you go try for yourself and find out?"
Green said casually, not lingering any longer. He brushed past the group, intending to leave.
He was a lone wolf from the Snowy Mountain; he disliked hanging around a large group of people to chat.
Just before leaving, Green suddenly thought of something. He turned his head to look at Ash, a flash of supreme pride in his eyes.
"Oh, and remember to tell that guy... that realm... I might be about to break through soon. I win this time."
The digital world had a ceiling, but this one did not.
The realm above the ultimate state—he would be the first to take that step!
With that, Green said no more. He turned his head and slowly walked away, leaving the group with a profound and mysterious view of his back.
The others were completely baffled and confused.
But just as he had walked a few meters away, Ash suddenly shouted from behind him:
"Master Green, Brother Red just said that he already officially crossed into that realm the day before yesterday!"
Green: "..."
His shoulders trembled slightly, and his mental fortitude wavered for a moment, but he did not stop walking.
Green just sneered coldly to himself, thinking Red was just spouting nonsense to try and shatter his vast mental fortitude, which was as deep as the ocean.
A leaping clown, how laughable.
"Oh, and in case you don't believe him, Brother Red also said he can give you a demonstration when he gets back to Pallet Town in a few days!"
Ash's loud voice once again carried over from the distance.
Green's footsteps finally came to a halt. He stood rooted to the spot, his expression instantly turning ashen.
"That guy, Red!"
His mental fortitude was shattered.
