Chapter 198 - Chapter 198: The First Battle of the School Year

"Of course, I'm not an unreasonable person. Although I specialize in Dark-type training, I've always been fair with rewards and punishments."

"Also, I hope you'll resolve your own issues as much as possible. Don't come running to me over every little thing. Of course, since you're Breeders, most Battle Department students will give you some leeway. So as long as you don't cause trouble yourselves, generally no one will bother you."

After seeing that most students had been properly intimidated, the female teacher nodded with satisfaction, recalled her two Pokémon, and resumed her gentle demeanor.

"Alright, let's start with introductions. My surname is Zhang—Zhang Xuexing. You can call me Teacher Zhang."

"Now, let's appoint a class representative. First row, third from the right... yes, you. Later, set up a group chat with everyone. I'll send the class schedule and important notices to the group, and you can all check them yourselves."

Zhang Xuexing pointed her finger, landing on the third girl in the first row. With an tone that brooked no refusal, she appointed her directly.

The girl who was pointed at looked pained but stood up and nodded.

Seeing her chosen student, Zhang Xuexing nodded with satisfaction.

"Good, very good. Come up here, let's add each other on Feixin. I'll leave the rest to you."

"Okay..."

Zhang Xuexing held out her phone, had the class rep scan her code, patted her shoulder, said "I'm leaving the rest to you," and left.

Not just the class rep was stunned—even Auron and the others were dumbfounded.

"Is our advisor really this... carefree?"

After Zhang Xuexing left the classroom, she finally let out a breath of relief.

"Phew, that scared me. Fortunately, the students don't seem too difficult to get along with."

She then happily skipped toward her office.

Zhou Nuonuo sighed helplessly, then stood up and turned to face everyone.

"I'll write my Feixin ID on the blackboard. Add me, and I'll pull you into the group chat."

With that, she went to the podium and wrote down her ID.

The students below didn't say much, just pulled out their phones and began adding her as a friend.

"After joining the group, remember to change your name to your real name."

"Okay."

The students responded sparsely, their hands not stopping. Soon, everyone in the class had been added to the group.

"Alright, now let me take attendance and get to know everyone."

"Zhou Wenqian!"

"Here!"

"Zhang Yunjie!"

"Here!"

...

With only about thirty people total, attendance was quickly finished, and everyone had a general idea of their classmates' faces.

"Okay, that's it for now. Class dismissed. Once our advisor sends me those things she mentioned, I'll post them in the group."

"Okay~"

Hearing "class dismissed," everyone perked up. After a quick response, they all stood up and headed out.

Watching the class rep on the platform breathe a sigh of relief, Auron smiled and asked in the group chat:

Auron: We're out of class. What about you guys?

Simon: Still listening to the teacher...

Serena: Me too.

Auron: Send me your locations. I'll come find you.

Jace: [location]

Jace: This is our classroom. Come on over.

Serena: What about me?

Auron: You can come too when you're done.

Serena: Okay...

Auron smiled and put away his phone. After waving to the class rep, he also left the classroom and headed toward the location Jace had sent.

"This feeling is pretty nice—I'm out of class while they're still in theirs."

Auron happily arrived outside the classroom where Jace and the others were. He sneaked a peek inside and indeed spotted Jace and Tim.

"My class doesn't have so many rules. In fact, I quite hope you'll have matches when you're free. After all, why would someone who doesn't battle enter the Battle Department, right?"

Hearing the voice inside, Auron froze. This voice sounded somewhat familiar.

Before Auron could listen more carefully, footsteps approached from inside, followed by the words "class dismissed."

"Hm? Auron, what are you doing here?"

As soon as the door opened, the teacher inside saw Auron standing at the entrance.

"Uh, Grandma, I came to find my friends. I got out of class early."

"Alright then, go ahead. They're dismissed now too."

Liu Xiangju smiled and patted Auron's shoulder before heading to her office.

Watching his grandmother's retreating figure, Auron didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He hadn't even recognized his own grandmother's voice—had he been too out of it these past few days?

"Wanna throw down?"

"Let's go then! There's no penalty anyway!"

"Let's go—battle arena!"

"Let's go! Who's afraid of who?"

Hearing the voices from inside, Auron stopped worrying about not recognizing the voice and quickly peeked inside.

Two people were pushing and shoving each other as they headed out. Seeing them approach, Auron stepped aside to let them through the door.

"Yo, I thought you couldn't find the place."

"How could I not? I'm not directionally challenged. What's going on with them?"

Seeing Jace and the others following behind, Auron quickly asked.

"Those two? They apparently knew each other before. They were arguing before class started, almost got into a fight. Then your grandmother saw them and encouraged them to have a battle. So... here we are."

Hearing this, Auron hesitated. "So...?"

"Of course we're going to watch! Free entertainment right in front of us—why not?"

"My thoughts exactly!"

"Smack!"

Auron and Jace grinned mischievously and high-fived in agreement.

"Hurry up or we'll miss it!"

Tim was even more anxious, already following right behind the two and urging everyone to keep up.

"Let's go, let's go!"

Auron and Jace were excited and quickly caught up with Tim.

Seeing them like this, Simon also became interested and turned to look at Lena.

"Why are you looking at me? Let's go together."

"Mm."

The two smiled at each other and followed along.

Standing at the very back, Peter's face twisted. "I should have run to the front! Damn, this is too much!"

With two people battling, not only did Auron and his group follow, but most of the other dozens of students from the class also came along.

Not only that, but someone from their class had already started posting about it online.

"Shocking! Fight breaks out on first day at Skyspire University! What kind of love-hate relationship led to this?"

On the first day of school, no one had classes and everyone was free. Just like that, what was originally just an ordinary battle ended up attracting many new students.

"One-on-one or two-on-two?"

"Let's do two-on-two. I won't say I'm bullying you."

"Fine by me!"

After exchanging harsh words, the two stepped onto the battle arena together.

"Trainers, send out your Pokémon!"

At Skyspire's battle arenas, there were referees most of the time, and occasionally commentators would show up too. The facilities were quite comprehensive.

"Watch me crush you! Go, Emboar!"
